Don't follow the tank installation instructions. Instructions say, "Tighten alternately until the tank contacts the front and back of the bowl achieving china to china contact." I followed the instructions and didn't even get close to china to china contact. At about a 1/4 inch from contacting the bowl on both sides the tank broke. Whether the tank was defective, I don't know. I had to order another tank. Not very happy about that!

My old champion toilet tank of 5years needed replcement parts found out it was cheaper to replace entire toilet tank than to rebuild old one , Since i needed it fixed A.S.A.P. Great value for the money . Easy to install and works great. I will eventually rebuild my old toilet tank in time with on sale items and will use it as backup for my other Champion toilet

I have had my model 4266 4 years and have had to replace the flopper and it still leaks water into the bowel, constantly refilling the tank. Have cleaned the lip, taken it apart to soak in white vinegar, cleaned and cleaned and it still leaks. I keep the water turned off until it needs flushing. Cannot express enough the disappointment with this one. The smaller toilet in the guest bathroom, American Standard also, has had no problems. So I can not recommend this larger flapper unit.

I broke my tank during a remodel. I stressed on replacing a six month old toilet. Home Depot had the tank only with all new seals and instructions included. Pricing was as good or better than any other and the shipping was fast.

EASY INSTALLATION, POWERFUL FLOW WITH ONE FLUSH. WOULD RECOMNEND THIS ITEM 100%.

It's a good product as long as you do not use a metal flush level.

I had gone to Lowes first and they said it would have to be back ordered fand it would take 30 days. I called u guys had had it within 4 days. thanks for the great help. keith

I have to agree with consumer reports...I don't think any other toilet flushes better. The 4" valve must be the secret. When I first installed (using the largest wax ring available, it leaked when I flushed it, even though I compressed with all my weight. A couple of days later, that stopped. Not sure if the sudden rush of water is too much for my drain, but I have heard that some drains can be a smaller standard than others, and I suspect this COULD be a problem for some. Too much water for your drain. Note that the tank does NOT ship with wax ring or supply line.

The American Standard Champion 4 system is a wonderful toilet. The toilet that came with our new home was less than satisfactory. While under new home warranty, we had it replaced twice. There was no improvement. It would usually take two to three flushes to get any mass pushed through. The plumber even told us to hold the handle down to help it flush. We didn't want to tell all our guest to hold the handle down or deal with the plunger while visiting us in our new home. After purchasing the AMC4, we never have to worry about unsatisfactory flushing or plunger use for that matter. The AMC4 has a 1.6 gallon tank, the same size as our old toilet. I have even told some of our close friends to give it all they got and they were amazed how well it effortlessly works. We have had no problems with this unit and plan on purchasing another AMC4 for our upstairs bathroom as well. It's the only toilet I know that comes with a 10 year warranty. We are very pleased! This is one of the finest 1.6 gallon flush toilets you can buy. It has a 4 inch flush valve, the industries largest, allowing it to flush quickly and does not require a second flush to finish the job. I have two in my home and recommend it to all my customers.

This is a good tank. The only problem I have encountered is that you have to attach the water supply line before you attach the tank to the bowl. I was using a hand tighten steel braided water supply with the plastic connector. I was unable to tighten the connection at the tank because the plastic connector would bind against the top of the toilet bowl. It was not a big deal unless in the event the supply line needs to be replaced. The tank would have to be loosened or removed in order replace the supply line.
