Easy to install, nice quality and great tasting water. Had to replace an old water filter and this worked great. So easy to install and the filters are a breeze to put in. So much easier and less messy than my old version. Installed this one in about 30 min or less.

Good basic system
Advanced drinking water system This us your basic drinking water system that removes Lead ,Cyst ,MTBE contaminants, Chlorine Taste and Odor and VOC reduction of Chloroform . This will not remove such contaminants as fluoride , nitrates etc. as in a reverse osmosis system. While determining what this system will perform for you, understand you specific needs. This system is a 2 stage filter system utilizing activated carbon in its filter make up. The install is pretty simple with some advanced considerations. Since there are so many options of fittings where you will draw you water supply from this seems to be the first hurdle. The only other hurdle would be if your sink has a hole for the faucet. Depending on your sink material this could create some issues for the DIY . Once you mount the faucet holder and the water supply tee. The hook up is quick and easy After the two considerations above install is a snap, the slip connectors work very easy . You have four ends to slide in. Place the unit in you desired location and atach the faucet to the mounting bracket already installed. Insert the filters and turn on the water check fir leaks . The faucet bracket has a timer for filter replacement and a battery needs to be installed . I found that the water volume coming out to be slower than I anticipated , but after measuring the volume it was to spec .05 GPM at 60 PSIG. According to the spec this is the max volume output from these filters from an input pressure between 30 to 125 PSIG. So more input pressure is not going to give you more output pressure. The filters service life is 270 gallons or six months. Not sure why the filters go bad without using them ? replacing the filters every six months and the timers battery is going to run you 60 to 80 bucks depending where you are buying them from . Note you need to use brand specific filters . So this water is costing you about .30 cents a gallon not including the cost of the unit or if your water is not free as my home in California. The system does not waste water by flushing the filters as in a reverse osmosis system . But again you need to know what your trying to filter. There are no other filters option available for this model. I'm using this in my outside barbecue kitchen with a different style faucet along with a whole home filter system thru a soft water potassium system .I installed a digital water meter to measure the water use instead of the timer. The water tastes great after clearing out the initial filter sediments about a 5 minute run no additional clearing was needed.

Good filter
I ordered this filter to get rid of choline taste and have instant filtered water. It took 2 hours to set it up and plum it in. Filter set is easy twist pop type connectors . Stainless steel facet. It filled a 1/4gallon pitcher is 18 seconds the filter housing sits under sink Cabnet out of sight while the top facet is nice. This filter DOES removed listed chemicals of cover of box but does NOT remove BPA. pharmaceutical runoff, sodium hexafluorosilicate( fluoride), glypophosphates, aluminum barium, matalic or ionized aluminum, pesticides, radioactive particles... So I have a gravity filter that removes all of the listed plus 4000 more. So I use this advanced defense as a pre and primer for fling the gravity filter And Coffey making Water tasted good with the Glasier bay dual filter

Noticable Improvement in Water Taste
The tap water at my home is not always clear and has a strong chlorinated taste. To help improve the clarity and taste, I decided to obtain the Glacier Bay Advanced Defense Drinking Water Filtration System, Model HDGDUS4. This is a two-stage filtration system that includes the two filters mounted under the sink, along with a drinking faucet that mounts on the sink. I am quite surprised at how the filtration system has improved the taste of the tap water. Installation of the Glacier Bay Drinking Water Filtration System is not difficult. I did have to purchase a new fitting for tapping into the cold water supply line at the shutoff valve. The filter and faucet use convenient push-in connections, so make sure to measure and cut-off the plastic lines properly before making the connections. The two filters lock into the base and provides 6-months of use before needing replacement. The drinking faucet mounts in the spare hole most sinks (if available), or requires a new 1 1/4” hole to be drilled in the sink. The faucet also includes a battery-operated timer which lights up when the filters need replacement. If your tap water is poor quality or has a chlorine taste, check out the Glacier Bay Drinking Water Filtration System. I’m very satisfied with the improvement in water quality and taste.

Easy Install Under Sink Drinking Water Filtration with Faucet
This unit sits on the base of the kitchen sink cabinet. It measures 12" high at the tallest point and is 15" deep. With the filters installed in the unit it takes up 16" front to back. The filtered water faucet is installed through the countertop. It comes with 3/8" plastic tubing. It also comes with a water supply fitting which you will attach to the vertical cold water pipe. If you adapt your cold water pipe to fit the 3/8" tubing, you will need a 3/8" compression fitting. ( Instructions are given for that option. ) The plastic tubing is attached to the drinking water faucet (included in nickel finish) and the other end goes through the counter top to be attached to the cold water faucet stud that you attached to your cold water pipe. The attached timer lets you know when 6 months has passed. It is operated with a coin battery. The filter cartridges are screwed in to the holes in the front. When installed, the filtered cold water bypasses the main faucet and gets routed to the new one. The main faucet will have hot water and cold water because of the water supply fitting that also allows the tubing to be connected to the cold water pipe. This is good for drinking water and if you need warm water, you would have unfiltered hot and unfiltered cold water coming from the main faucet.

Easy to install lightweight water filtration system
I was able to install the system in under an hour; the instructions were straightforward and all items necessary for the system to function out of the box were included - huge plus since I've had previous filtration systems and they weren't out of the box ready for use; either filters, optional adapters, or faulty systems were the issues. I do recommend pushing the tubing into the connectors until a "click" sound is made; this informs the installer that the tubing connections are secure and leak free. I failed to ensure the tubing was connected to the faucet and water was slightly dripping - solely my error :) Fixing that was easy - just follow the directions for releasing the tubing from the faucet connector and reconnect until a "click" sound is made - no more leaks.

Some reviews said the included plumbing parts would work. They fit fine but you have to attache the T connector directly to the faucet stem. I opted not to do that and bought some extra hoses so I could reach everything with easier access. As far as use it's been as expected. I like the taste of the water better than the water I was getting from the Schnucks filtered water system. Of course taste is going to vary according to where you live. I installed mine in Ballwin MO.

This is not a DIY. The unit comes with a fittings that doesn't work under my sink, at least for New England. I just changed the kitchen faucet in 30 min, it was a breeze, because it came with the right fittings. The water filtration system comes with the wrong parts. This Glacier Bay Advanced Drinking Water Filtration System doesn't come with what you need, and doesn't provide any advice neither and after 6 visits to Home Depot I was able to find something to put it together. In every visit I asked a Home Depot rep in the section how to do the installation, 5 of them gave me wrong solutions, and even one told me "this cannot be installed, you got to get a plumber". If I knew of all these complications I wouldn't have bought this item. On the other hand, I am deeply concerned this push on type of connections will be able to withstand the pipe pressure. I hear some people having their PVC pipes breaking during winter. The Glacier Bay comes with a very bad quality tubing. The unit looks very flimsy. I wonder if this company has ever done a quality inspection of their product?

Nice filtered water at fraction of the cost of bottled
This water filter installs very quickly and easily with few basic hand tools. I really appreciated the detailed instructions. It took me a couple hours to complete. I was a little intimidated at first by the thought of installing this water filter but once I started it was not at all difficult. The filters last six months and are available through the Home Depot. Think about how many plastic bottles of water you wont have to buy when you purchase this.

Love the 6 month filter life
We wanted a filtered water tap easily accessible in our kitchen. We have filtered water pitchers, but with two small kids, it's so much easier to have a tap with filtered water--no waiting. To install, we removed a mounted hand soap pump and put this in its place. Installation of the filters was easy. I love the that filtration system doesn't need additional mounting, but can sit easily in the cabinet base (and doesn't take up too much space). Putting the tap into place was simple. However, the connector provided to hook the water lines into our pipe did not fit with our 3/8" copper piping. (My husband declared the piece "useless.") We did have to go to Home Depot and buy the required piece to finish installation. I hate projects that require an extra trip (and more money), but I'm hopeful that this filtration system will serve our family for a long time.

    Great water
Hello, I'm writing today about the Glacier Bay Advanced Defense Drinking Water Filtration System. This 2 stage water filtration system is very easy to install, you may need to buy an adapter for your cold water line , this is explained in the installation instructions . The filter replacement doesn't require tools , this makes it very easy to replace your filters. It also looks nice.

    Water tastes great
This wasn't difficult to install with basic tools. Our water had a bit of a funny taste and sometimes you'd see sediment in a water glass. Not Flint-level quality problems, but a concern that bothered some. Our water is clear now and has no odd taste, which is the goal I guess. I was worried about replacement filters but this unit seems to use a commonly available filter cartridge that has been around for a long time.

great filter for a great price
This filter was pretty easy to install, it included everything. once up and running, the water just tastes better. The flow might be slow but thats ok. Much better than getting one that just screws on to the faucet.

    Nasty, nasty flavor
I just replaced the filters in my "filtration system" and the water tastes like dead salmon. Taking this thing back. Very bad. The first set of filters was fine.

    three or four stars
    - great metal hardware -- that which is metal, otherwise surprising plastic "permanent" fixture/faucet - except the 2x toggles for mounting the faucet (?) - apparently proprietary filters - low flow even after fully charged - still getting white "sediment" after a week I regret installing this, cutting a hole in my precious flakeboard counter to mount the "permanent" plastic faucet right next to my "permanent" plastic Kohler premium soap dispenser; I'm not sure if metal faucet fixtures are available (the long, curved spout itself is metal) so this may be how these units are sold these days. The T-fitting is heavy duty, had no problem installing it in my 1/4" screwdown existing lines, and the push-to-connect and miles of included pex hasn't leaked yet. One common complaint is the low water flow: it is initially painfully low, for days for some reason, but once the filters are full it takes a little over a minute to get 64oz into a percolator, not the end of the world but not the 2.5gpm I otherwise enjoy even with thick poly whole house filters. But the dealbreaker for me is not being able to find compatible filters, or refillable cartridges -- you can find other, standard filter sizes and pre-filled or empty reusable cartridges online with bulk media, all much cheaper than a name brand packaged filter, that will filter what and how you want. Unless I can figure out how to customize these filters, I'm going to try to reduce a 3/4" whole house tank to 1/4" push-to-connect, customize the filter media, and enjoy 2.5gpm rushing through my plastic faucet fixture. Toggles to mount the fixture to your counter is kind of insulting -- one toggle blew apart on installation, and it makes you wonder how much retail price they shaved off by avoiding a metal threaded neck and plastic collar -- or even a plastic threaded neck. If you don't mind a plastic base on your faucet nor being locked in to proprietary filters (Ls is horrible at maintaining proprietary consumables, don't know about HD) nor low flow nor a consistent initial burst of white-something, this might be the unit for you.

Easy to install and great flow
This does take up a little more room under the sink than some other units, but it has great flow. The best part of this unit is the 3/8" water line size, most are only 1/4". With this larger line and filter size the water flow is more consistent and faster. I don't like to wait too long for my coffee pot to fill lest I get annoyed! Hehe! Nice design and easy to keep clean!

    Could be better
This water purifier looks good with cartridges easy to change. With the quality of our local drinking water a water purifier is a must. This water purifier falls short of being a great water purifier. Installation required the purchase of a new adapter to hook up to water supply (have a standard plumbing setup). The included faucet has a weird clamp installation which is awkward to use, with one of the clamps breaking when installing (was able to get it to work). After the system is installed, we ran water through to clear all debris. There was little to no improvement in the taste of the water so far. The unit under the sink/ under the counter takes up a lot of space. Although it allows easy access for changing out the cartridges.

Got it for a different use
I have one of these already, installed at my kitchen sink. Works great, provides clear clean water, and even doubles as a drinking fountain (almost) when it comes time to take my pills. While I was installing that one, it occurred to me that the water inlet and outlet connections on this thing are probably the same size as the water line running to my fridge for the ice maker and water dispenser. Turns out I was absolutely correct! Now I get the same clean water from my fridge as I do at my sink, but now it is chilled the way I like it, and my ice is clean too (no more 'floaties' from the melting ice cubes). Now I'm trying to think of where else I might want one of these so I can get a third. I'm thinking the water line to the furnace humidifier would be a likely candidate since it is all the same size plastic tubing. Makes me a bit queasy thinking that the gunk that is in the water without the filter is also ending up in the air my family is breathing too (I know that likely is not the case, but still...).

    Decent filtration system
This is a good filtration system and the installation is easy. Cartridges are easy to change. No need to shut off the water supply to change. The filter removes contaminates from the water, and the water comes out clear and clean looking and it tastes great too. There is an indicator that tells you when the filter needs to be changed. It also fitted well under our kitchen sink.

    Nice Filter System
This is a nice water filtration system. Installation is simple, and water throughput is great, probably double what my old system was. Cartridges are easy to change, you do not need to shut off the water supply to change. Filters last 6 months and there is an indicator to tell you when to change them. I like the attractive housing that fits under our kitchen sink. Overall a great filter.

Works well but has lower flow rate than advertised.
Overall this is a nice product, affordable under sink filter system. It definitely made a change in the taste of my well water. No more strong metallic taste, but I wouldn't call it perfect. But for the price it's a big step up. My biggest complaint is the output flow. It takes me 42 seconds to fill a quart container. I calculate that to be 0.35 gpm. Home Depot's site lists this system at 2 gpm. When reading through the manual I found a service flow rating of 0.5gpm - probably on par with what I have. Home Depot - you should change the online listing because it is not correct.

Convenient filter, Installation could require a professional
I planned to use this under the kitchen sink to replace an existing customized 1/4" installation. The problem is really with the existing customized installation, since the existing couplings and tubing are smaller (1/4"), they had to be changed to 3/8" in order to work with this new filtration system. However, the fridge still uses 1/4", so this added an additional installation step and complicated what would have been a very simple installation. Be careful of this, especially if you are changing an existing installation that is not already 3/8". The instructions will not account for this. The water before was already being filtered, but the filter was just hanging under the sink and the tubing was going directly in and out of the filter. This new system allows for the filters to be changed without shutting off the water supply. The faucet/dispenser that comes with this may be larger than your existing installation (if you have one). The instructions state a 1-1/4" minimum diameter hole is required. Fortunately, I was able to use the existing hole for the new dispenser. I have not had the system long enough to have to change the filters, but based on how easy it was to install them, this should not be any trouble at all. The LED indication that blinks after 6 months might bother you if you don't use the filter often enough to have to replace the filters every 6 months, but you can just leave the battery out if you don't like it. It definitely takes up more space that what was there ebfore, but it also makes for a much better installation that allows the filters to be changed very easily. This was totally worth it!

      Does the job
Filter works as expected. Had a minor issue - water has gotten into filter life indicator/battery and it started flashing. Dried it for a day, installed back and it started working again. That didn't affect filter's functionality. Good product for a good price.

      A few things.
This is a decent water filter for one appliance. Realize though that this is not an RO system, it is just a filter. As a filter, It does exactly what it is advertised to do. It removes contaminates from the water, and the water comes out clear and clean looking. I think that it tastes great too, although, prior to the install I didn't have any complaints on the look or taste of my water. It does make me feel a little better knowing that my water is filtered. It's a piece of mind thing. The unit is a little bit larger than I anticipated, and it does take up a lot of space under the sink. Think of this when you are purchasing it. I just had to get crafty and re-arrange everything to make it work. Filter changes are a breeze, and are readily available. They are a bit spendy, but they do last a long time.

      Water Quality Worse !
TDS higher after filtering through this unit!! 240 filtered through this system, 199 from the tap, & 177 from the fridge! Couldn't believe the results so I tested numerous times but virtually same results every time. Waste of time & money.

The Advanced Drinking Water Filtration System is not designed to reduce TDS. This system reduces sediment, chlorine taste and odor, cysts, lead and chemicals such as atrazine, benzene and lindane. However, the Premium Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Filtration System does reduce dissolved solids. It also reduces sediment, chlorine taste and odor, cysts, lead, and chemicals such as chromium 6, arsenic and radium. The part number for this system is HDGROS4.
