Werner's website has a list of compatible products for the ALMP-20iAA ladder, this being one. However, (1) it does not fit and (2) if you dive into the Questions sections of this product, WernerCustomerCare responds that it does NOT work with the ALMP-20iAA. Wasted my time buying something that is not compatible. Luckily, Home Depot has a solid return policy.

It helps the ladder more stable when I climbed up high to reach on the roof eaves for caulking the cracks. I love it.

Fits the MT series ladders
I was beginning to doubt the AC96 stabilizer wasn't going to fit my MT ladder but then I found there was a special instruction section for MT ladders. You don't lose any inches like some of the reviews claim and it fits perfectly. The angle clip is not used for MT ladders.

Use at your own risk
I used this support for several months without incident. However, last month I was painting the backside of a fascia board at my house and the device broke at the saddle that goes over the top rung. The actual supports suddenly tilted up and the ladder pivoted and fell. I ended up landing on the edging of our flower bed and fractured my tail bone. 12 hours in the ER. It is a good thing that I was only about 10 feet up. The area where the saddle cracked was covered with the manufacturer's sticker so no cracks would ever be noticed. The concept of the seems OK but the thickness of the metal if far too thin. I wrote Werner but nothing back from them. I recommend you look elsewhere.

I wasn’t getting on ladder without it.
I do dang near everything on my house on my own but I hate ladders and couldn’t find anyone willing to do the small job I had. I finally found a used Werner ladder and found this at HD. Without the stabilizer it was too shaky for my liking. After installing this it was much more stable, especially important since I had to use some muscle to pull off the boards that needed replacing. I saw the more expensive one but this was quick and easy to install and I’m satisfied with the purchase.

It does what it is supposed to do. The stabilizer arms sit on the roof and keep the ladder off the gutter. I placed it so that the ladder extend three rungs above the stabilizer, giving me an easy way off the ladder to the roof and an easy way back to the ladder from the roof. .
The instructions a good enough. The pictures of the assembled product are better, which are in the instructions and also on the stabilizer itself.
The price fit my budget. I would have bought a quick click stabilizer, or one with adjustable arms, but they were out of my price range. I will probably leave it on the ladder, since I have an adequate storage area.
Perfect for roof access.

This thing is great compared to the bolt on version. It goes on and off in seconds. It also is put together and broken down in seconds. I got it for my fiberglass ladders, but they will work on all types. I even use it on my hoisting power ladder. Worth the buy. I'll be getting a couple more real soon.

As mentioned by several others, the top rung channel piece is too wide. I've got a Krause multi-angle, folding ladder with rungs that are a little over 12" wide. It would seem to me that Wagner would acknowledge that their "One Size Fits All" approach isn't working and would make the adjustment for a not so rare dimensional difference of many ladders. I ground and filed off about a 1/4" from both sides of the channel and the ladder was good to go. My need for this device is to allow the fully deployed ladder to stand a few inches away from the gutter. In particular, the "Stabilizer" makes my trip up and down easier and MUCH safer than using a tall, but still short, step ladder. Now I've got ladder too grab a hold of as I climb up and down. Home Depot had the best price I could find.

When I brought the unit home, assembly was a no-brainer except for the fact the unit main piece which fits between ladder rungs was Too Wide and wouldn't allow me to insert.
My aluminum ladder rungs are 12.125" spacing.
The Stabilizer was 12.250" in width.
This was remedied by using my band saw to trim clearance from one side of the stabilizer.

The stabilizer is easy to install and remove. It comes with a convenient work/paint bucket hook. The stabilizer provides an improved work area. The soft end caps minimize damage to stucco texture or marring on painted surfaces. It fully meets my expectation. The only con I can see is that when handling your ladder and you need to move or finish work you must be cognizant of the additional weight which is not much but enough to affect a higher center of gravity causing it to be a bit top heavy. It is manageable by one person as long as you remember to extend and/or fully collapse the extension ladder while in a vertical position. Follow installation instructions to the letter and use the pictorials to ensure proper fit and function.

Misleading 'standoff' for MT ladders. The description states these work with MT ladders of all lengths. What it does not tell you ... if you install it as directed (on the climbing side), you lose the width of the ladder and width of the bar, making the standoff only 6". 6" is enough to get the ends of the ladder off the wall, but not enough to get around my shingle overhang (which is mostly why I wanted it; to clean the gutters). I see others mounted it on the other side. If that is a safe option, the manufacturer should state so. If not, they should acknowledge the true standoff.
Also, the directions state to, 'Slide bucket hanger onto stabilizer'. What they do not mention ... the bow in the bar, creates a bulge in the bar. The hook does not slide on. It took me 30 minutes of re-reading the direction, and hammering it, to get it on. Typically when you have to hammer something in place, you are doing it wrong. Fits perfectly once it is past the bow, but the directions should mention this.

Keep you shingles and gutters from getting crushed
I wanted some sort of attachment to prevent the MT-17 Werner ladder from damaging our new roof shingles which extend 1" past the drip edge. Unfortunately the slope of our roof is low so the arms don't land perpendicular to the roof. I had to put the feet on the fascia board. As others have said, the rubber feet come off too easy. If that happens, the sharp aluminum ends can dig into your paint and tiles. I would expect much better from Werner. I wonder if Little Giant has the same issue. Very solid when attached with the wing nuts. Don't expect to fold the ladder up completely with the stand-off attached. As another reviewer did, I mounted the attachment to the very front of the ladder with no issues as of yet.

Works great, feel safe
Adjusts for various widths and depths. Wide windows or patio doors from small to medium windows. Working close to wall and also adjusts for working on gutters keeping ladder off of gutters and far enough off wall to easily work on gutters or ledge of roof. Works great for safely climbing onto roof. Rest stabilizer onto roof to prevent ladder from tipping and feet from kicking out. See my pics for different uses.

should have bought it earlier
easy to assemble despite the poor directions. I believe this is the only werner product of stabilizers that fit the multi position ladder that I have.
I bought this for one particular reason and that was to keep my ladder off the gutters when climbing on the roof. Now the stabilizer bar sits on the roof with rubber/plastic type feet and a few inches away from the gutter that has a few scratches on it from ladder rubs over the years. The way the instructions state to mount the bar is that they put it on the climbing side and it loops around to the other side. I did that at first and found that this does not work well. It is advertised as giving you ten inches of clearance but that will never happen if you install it per their directions, unless I did something wrong. Instead I put the bar on the opposite of the climbing side and it gave me a few more inches of pushout. I examined it thoroughly and see no issues with it not being structurally sound in this manner. I now have a few inches of clearance between the ladder and gutter. Also it you install it per their directions, when it is folded up, you have this big bar with big ends on it sticking out. It sticks out less when assembling it like I did
The other benefit is that now the ladder is just friggen solid. I don't have to worry about it moving left and right on me. Last year I got up on the roof without this bar and carried my water hose up to help clean the gutters. Well, somehow I knocked the ladder over and didn't have any way down. No cell phone and the wife wasn't going to be home for a while. Fortunately, I was able to hook the water hose around the end of the ladder and lift it back up. I don't see this new setup falling over at all. Also If you are concerned, you can bungie cord the ladder to one of your gutter hangars to help prevent tip over.
One more thing...if you position a multi position ladder against the gutter and have it extend up past the roof, then when you step on the ladder and hold on to the extended portion of the ladder it will usually kick out the ladder due to the fulcrum of the ladder and the pivot point in the middle of the ladder. There is a youtube video on this and it appears that this can be very dangerous. This appears to eliminate or greatly reduce this potential.
I highly recommend this product even though I only gave it 4 stars. I would give it 5 stars if it was adjustable in width so that it was easier to store without having to remove it.

I called Gorilla and they recommended this Werner stabilizer bar. I had to order a second one because of defective hardware (stuff happens). It doesn’t mount as designed. However, I made it work. Very stable 23’ up. Gorilla should build one to fit their ladder. Thank you Werner.

Simpler to assemble than the directions would lead you. Works quite well for my purposes. Little difficult to store now with the extended arms, but doable.
