BEST roof vent for Southern climate

We love this fan...we just had a new roof put on and all of the roofers were ecstatic that they didn't have to mess with any wiring when installing this. They actually pulled an old vent off of my roof and installed it right overtop of the cut-out. The guy that installed it said it kicked on as he was nailing it to the roof!!!

Take it from a professional roofer working in the S. Texas Summer heat. Underventilation of your home can cause decking and shingle issues. Purchased for a customer that was wanting to correct her attics ventilation but without adding to the electric bill. Highly recommend product. Plus with the delivery option we didn't have to have a Runner go out and stand in line to get it. Win Win!

Easy to install, and dropped the attic temperature in my garage by 20 degrees.

This fan was suppose pull 740 cfm, 4 three inch fans, can't pull that much. Took it outside to see how it would work before cutting hole in roof, glad I did couldn't feel no air movement. It's made of thin sheet metal, base is very flimsy. If you buy, put it in the sun, before cutting roof.......

Flimsy construction. The 'fan' is actually a few cheap plastic fans, like the kind used inside a computer. The airflow is minimal even in full sunlight.

I installed this in my garage due to extreme heat in there during the summer. Like other reviews I read before buying this product, I found it to be an easy, straight forward installation. The vent fans worked right out of the box as soon as the sunlight hit the panel. Not all of the fans come on every day depending on quality of sunlight. Sometimes only the two large ones come on if it's cloudy. None come on when it's really cloudy. But it works perfectly at the moment. Can't say how it works keeping my garage cooler in the summer until next year, but I am happy with my purchase.

Easy to install, and works in direct sun light. But the fans have no shroud around them making it not as good as it could be,causing the Suction to not be as effective.

Our roofer said as soon as he took the vents out of the box the fans kicked on.Very quite and I can tell a big difference up stairs.

The concept is great. The ability to have an attic fan that is off the grid is a fantastic idea.

We just installed today and was fairly easy to do. As I was handing to my husband the small fans were already running. It is cloudy today, but they were still running. If they do this well on a cloudy day I am sure they will perform as expected.

Fan is ok, seams to draw ok but not great. solar panel moves and rotates but does not seem to want to stay in position easily, falls back to a flat position instead of staying in an angled position for optimal sun exposure.

The two fans I purchased lowered the heat in my attic. Making the inside of my home much cooler, resulting in a lower electric bill. I received exactly what I ordered, and the fans were delivered earlier than promised.

The fan isnt horrible, but after getting it, I have to ask why you wouldnt spend an extra $40 and get something that works a lot better. To start, the solar panel on this is fixed, and cannot be adjusted, so lets hope your roof has a southern slope. Second the thing that really bugs me. Instead of having a wimpy roof vent fan, this has what appears to be 4 computer fans in it. I would say 2 4in fans, and 2 3in fans. I am guessing it meets the air flow it claims, but it just seems like a poor way to do it. Spend the extra money and go up a model or two. I would recommend putting making sure the solar panel can be rotated and the angle can be adjusted.

I would have tought this exhaust fan would have done alot better! It use's computor fan's four of them they lack the force power to eject the hot air in the space I put it in. I used it in a 120 sq.ft area this was rated to do 174 cfm, Too late to change it now! I have another one in my shed it's bigger one fan 14" same wattage 11 for the solor panel work fine!

Heavy gauge metal and well built solar panel. Wiring is cheap and out of the box broken. Had to re-do the connector, add some wire extensions and then rebuild the assembly. fans are aluminum wiring of the cheapest gauge one can find. I will be surprised if it makes it the summer. Good thing is the housing and solar panel appear robust so I will just have to buy some new fans and rebuild it again. Don't waste your money on this one.

It took about an hour to install. Hardest part is climbing up on the roof. Seems to work great so far.
