I like Pole Wrap. Definite improvement over the black metal poles in our basement. I chose the non-wood option and painted them. They look very tidy, but the surface is not as smooth a finish as I would have liked. Might be worth checking if the wood options can be painted, for a smoother finish. Overall, very satisfied and would recommend. Install was easy even with our drop ceiling. In taking the photos, I see I may wish to apply a third coat of paint.

Easy to install and looks great when complete. I painted the pole the same color as the walls and the top/bottom pieces the same as the room's baseboard. It blends into the room very well. Due to lighting, the attached photo does not look as good as being in the room. The MDF does absorb a lot of paint. In addition to the oil based primer, it took 2 coats of high quality latex paint to complete.

Very happy with it
This is a super easy and inexpensive way to finish the look of a basement. I also Got the cap and base which is a must have. It's just a big glue project other than cutting the height and width. I used a miter saw to cut the height and a utility blade for the width. I used the scrap from the height cut to figure up the width. Just note there will be a little extra width for the glue. simple and easy. It came with directions recommending masking tape to hold it in place while the glue drys. I was thinking clamps originally but the tape worked great. I did use clamps on the base just because it's a 4 pc base and I just wanted it all glued at once. Once the glue was dry and I removed the tape and clamps and all that was left was caulk and paint. Just remember "Caulk and Paint makes a trim carpenter what he aint". Ha

We used the large piece of the column cover to cover a "curved" wall that the builder used as his "trademark" when the house was built in the late '60's...We painted the product to match the wall paint and it was flexible enough to fit the curve without leaving any gaps. A little pricey, but it did the job!!

Ordered two of the MDF style PoleWraps, one for a 3" pole and one for a 4" pole. I was impressed that a rep from PoleWrap called to ensure that I didn't make an error on my order because I wanted one of each size instead of two of the same size. I was glad that there is still someone out there that was paying attention instead of just filling orders. The product was easy to work with. I followed the enclosed instructions and viewed the installation video on HomeDepot's webpage and installing was a snap! I primered both pole wraps and applied a finish coat later that day. The pole bases and caps fit well. I'm very satisfied with the finished look and would recommend the product.

I ordered three of these. The third was much narrower than the others (i.e., had fewer columns) and had one vertical column that was only half the width of the others. I had to cut it out and insert an extra full column that was scrap from one of the other two wraps I cut down to size.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Pole-Wrap is a cut-to-fit product that is available in three different widths (12, 16 and 48 inch). Although each may vary in size by a panel or two, there should aways be enough width to cover the circumference of your specified column, provided that you have selected the correct width size for your column diameter. Also, and as you point out, Pole-Wrap sections can be butted together like regular wall paneling with no visible seams, if you choose. POLE-WRAP

We used this in the lower level to update the look of an old, square oak pole cover that was a prominent feature in the lower level (for the previous owner). Now the pole blends into the design. I easily painted it the same grey color as the walls and painted the top/bottom caps white to match the trim. It looks totally modern and it minimizes the space used by the pole since my husband wrapped it as tight as possible. He ran glue along the edges to attach and it is solid. I love this solution for a hiding a pole with a modern look. It is easy, fast and really looks great.

Looks better than the metal post
This was easy enough to install, and having a second set of hands makes it easier. It was a bit of a pain to paint to ensure that you got paint in all of the grooves. It looks better than the plain metal post.

The finished product looks great and was easy to install.
We had two circular features to cover during our basement remodel. One was a standard 3.5 inch support pole and the other was an 8 inch plumbing pipe. The 3.5 inch was easily covered with adhesive and the pole wrap after installing a column top and base. We used round cardboard tubes meant for cement support installations as the surface to cover the 8 inch pipe and glued on the wrap. It looks great!

Easy and effective in covering up basement column.
The wrap and accompanying base/top molding pieces were just what I needed to finish off my basement room. It goes particularly well with the beadboard in the room. Just a note of caution...make sure every joint is pre-bent enough to make a smooth transition around the column. The directions were good about making this point.

        Just what I needed!
I needed something to hide support beams in my basement. This product was just what I needed to finish out my basement project. I wanted something to maximize my living space, but have a finished look to it. The wrap was very easy to install, had to modify the caps but that was due to raising the ceiling height to again maximize space in basement. Overall, really good, inexpensive option to "boxing" in support beams.
