It is a post. It is dumb, as a post should be, and it seems sturdy and works tirelessly holding up our lights, as expected. We cut ours in half, for 2 lights, and it still worked. Incredible!

Right product for pole mounted outdoor lamps
Nothing to assemble for this product other than to dig a hole, run appropriate electrical cable through it, and put it in the ground. Mount your light fixture on top and flip the switch.

Not Specification thickness
The post looks good in spite of minimal packaging. The wall thickness is .055 not .072 as spec. Much lighter weight than minimum.

Easy to install post for post light
Easy to install for post light. Dig hole, put in ground, fill hole with gravel or concrete, then backfill dirt. Easy peasy.
