Good Fan
It does exactly what it is supposed to and works great. I love that it has it's own on/off switch with and integrated speed control on the unit itself.
Only one thing that I had to change, The holes on the flange for mounting are to close to the edge so a dry wall anchor would just break the drywall. Easy fix though, drill 4 new holes close to the edge of the flange and mount your anchors there.

The model 510 is rated at 6.5 audible sones for privacy while using in any room.
If you feel that the unit is operating louder than the expected sone ratings, I would advise to contact our Technical Support Team at 800-637-1453. They should be able to help you troubleshoot to see if there is a simple solution to this issue.
The Technical Team is available from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM CST, Monday-Friday and would be happy to assist you.

Used this to replace a bath fan in a 25...
Used this to replace a bath fan in a 25 yr. old mfg home with an up exhaust. Took a little adjusting, but it certainly solved the problem and works great.

Fit great and works great for the spot I put...
Fit great and works great for the spot I put it in but it is a little bit loud. It needs to be less noisy decibel wise. Or decrease the price . Since I do not use it that much , it suffices!

We appreciate your feedback on the 512 room-to-room ventilation fan. This model is rated at 90 cfm's with 6.0 sones. We do not rate our fans using decibels. You can install a variable speed control with this model to control the sound and speed of the motor. Our 57W speed control is compatible. So far, so good. It replaced a similar fan...
So far, so good. It replaced a similar fan that lasted nearly 30 years. Ease of removing the grills and motor for maintenance are a big improvement from the older model. Sure hope it lasts.

Fan is a bit louder than I would like, but...
Fan is a bit louder than I would like, but it moves the air. I replaced an old one that was noisier, so it IS an improvement. The electrical connection box on the side would have been a problem if I was installing in a new wall, but since there was a big hole from the old fan, the new one went in without any problems. Overall, I would buy it again.

The electrical wiring box on the fan, is on the exterior of the fan housing. When the cutout is made for the fan, the cutout must include an opening for this box. This extension of this cutout will not be covered by the grill. Extremely poor design for retrofits! In my case, this side of the fan is going through knotty pine, it cannot be "patched".

Quiet, easy to install! Only issue we had was...
Quiet, easy to install! Only issue we had was the cover for the outside. We thought the slots on the outside were big enough to let little creatures in so we bought a 6” dryer vent cover with the flaps that open/close to put on the outside! Perfect!
