How to clean??
This grinder does it job. But how do I clean the middle part? I even unscrew the thing on the left image, but can’t even take the blade out. Help!!

    Hopper broke- so frustrating
    The grinding works well but the hopper broke. Apparently it’s defective since many others complained of the same problem.

      That hopper!
      My 4th grinder of this model just broke after 3 months. Once again it's the hopper. This is my favorite grinder until that happens. I'm done with this

        Hopper neck BROKE OFF & fine grind should be finer
        I've had this grinder for about 6 months and the hopper neck just broke off. I also see that this has happened to many other people and I'm really surprised at the low quality of a Mr. Coffee product. I need a replacement hopper please. Also, the Fine/Espresso grind is not quite fine enough for espresso.

          Loved this grinder - but something is wrong
          I got this grinder in December 2018. We have used it almost daily since then and I have had no issues. However, lately coffee grounds have been splling out the BOTTOM of the grinder. Can the folks at Mr Coffee help?

            Does a great job Grinding but not all the grounds
            This unit grinds coffee great but a large portion of the ground coffee ends up leaking into the internal area where the circuit board is and there is no way to access this easily. Good for grinding but there is a percentage of ground coffee that you cannot use.

              Love the design
              [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nothing is better than grinding your own fresh coffee! I can grind my coffee to the texture that I want with the 18 custom grins. It works great to. I definitely recommend this coffee grinder. It works great and very easy to clean and also easy to store some where.

                Best Grinder!
                [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best grinder I’ve ever used. There are so many settings to choose from. And this holds a huge amount of beans unlike others I’ve used. I love the fact that it’s a burr mill and doesn’t use blades to grind the coffee beans. I’ve found this to grind my beans so much finer. Clean up is easy enough. Really happy with this so much.

                  Messy and Dead!
                  This seems to be a common problem with this grinder; it worked okay in the beginning, but it was very messy, coffee gets every where. Nine months after purchasing the grinder it totally stopped working! I only used this grinder about 25 times and always cleaned after each use. The blue light is on; hopper is clear and nothing’s obstructing the blades; they turn freely. It seems like the motor is dead. I actually bought 2 of these for my main home and lake home. So far the other one is working, but it’s only been used a few times. Wish I would’ve read the reviews before purchasing.

                    Fire Hazard!
                    This unit started to leak coffee grounds on the counter top from the bottom of the motor housing. I removed the bottom cover and was very surprised to find the entire motor housing including the motor windings, circuit board and wiring completely filled with very fine coffee grounds and dust.

                      Excellent grinder but difficult to clean
                      I have had this grinder for over a year. It is very powerful and allows for various styles of grinding (coarse, medium, fine) My only concern is its difficulty in cleaning. The tubing in between the coffee bean loader makes it unreachable for brushing off grinded coffee. The ejector well where the grinded coffee falls into is a nightmare to clean too. I have attempted to dissemble the machine but the design doesn't allow me to reach those spots. I am concerned as this may encourage bacterial growth overtime if left untreated.

                        LOVE the smell of fresh ground coffee in the AM!
                        I LOVE LOVE LOVE my grinder!!!!!!! I use it every day. Well, at least I did until my mishap! As I was pulling out the container of grinds to fill my coffee pot, it started to fall, when I grabbed for it with my other hand, I clumsily hit it upward. That's when it smashed on the floor. There were coffee grounds everywhere and the container broke. No more coffee for me! At least not until I get a replacement container....

                            ground coffee in the housing
                            I have this coffee bean grinder and for whatever reason ground coffee is getting into the housing of the machine. I have had this machine for 3+ years and never had this happen. I keep shaking it and more and more ground coffee keeps coming out. I have enough to make at least a pot and half of coffee so far. The coffee is coming out of the holes at the bottom where the cord winds. I'm not sure what could be wrong with my machine that is causing this too happen. I use it on an almost daily basis. Any feedback about this situation would be appreciated.

                              Love it when it works!
                              I got this model about 3 months a go could say it was greate untill the hopper broke lost my receipt so I got a new one after only a week of use this one did the same have 2 broken hoppers and $80 later no coffee grinder see photos below you decide

                                Waste of money
                                Have used this product 3 times. I like a finer grind, or an expresso grind. At best it produces a grind similar to coffee beans from a pencil sharpener. Wish I had seen these reviews before I wasted my money. So it has been properly trashed.

If the size of the coffee ground is not consistent, these are the possible cause: -The unit is not clean. -There’s a foreign object between the two Burr Mills. -Grind setting is not correct. Solution to these problems: -Clean the unit, unplug it and clean the burr mill. -unplug the unit and carefully dislodge the foreign object. -Turn the hopper to the correct/ desired grind setting. We want to make sure that we provide quality products that have great value, stylish and will suit your needs.                                   Descent Grinder
                                  We have had two of these grinders and have a new one waiting in wings when this one dies. Our first one had the threads stripped in throat and the bean hopper neck broke. That one lasted about 2 years. The current one we have has been chugging along for more than a few years with monthly cleaning. However, the little pin inside the spring that is under the ring that is screwed on with three screws has broken. I was able to stick it back in with the spring and grinder is still working. I was wondering if we can obtain a replacement of that pin. I have looked everywhere online to no avail. Otherwise, we have been happy with this grinder and feel it has lasted a great deal longer than we expected. Want to know if pin part is available or if there is another fix.

                                    Haven't had a single issue
                                    I've had this unit for over a year. No issues at all. No broken hopper, no grounds coming out the bottom. In fact, the reason I came here to review this machine is to comment on how amazingly accurate it is. When you put the number of cups on 6. You get 6 tablespoons from it, exactly. No matter the grind size. Even when using another brand's measuring marks. I grind 8 tablespoons. The grounds fill the graduated marks on the filter perfectly.

                                      I bought this 2 weeks ago and I’ve only used it once and it stopped working. I have the espresso maker and I thought this would be a good product since I like the espresso maker. Highly upset I spent this much.

                                        Absolutely love this coffee grinder but noticed during the last month that fine coffee dust his pouring out of the bottom of the grinder for no apparent reason. I've only had the grinder for approximately a year and a 1/2. Anyone else experiencing this problem and have you gotten any feedback from Mr. Coffee?

                                          Have enjoyed the use of this burr grinder for years now but I’m wondering, does the actual metal burr grinder ever need to be replaced or sharpened? If so, I would like to buy a new set.

                                              Like many of others posting reviews here, the top portion of out hopper separated from the base plastic. The attachment points between the two pieces seems to consist of three short plastic protrusions from the hopper to shallow slots in the base, along with a thin ring. Not sure what type of epoxy or glue that is food safe and can bond the materials involved - if anyone has a recommendation, please post here. As a very temporary workaround, multiple rubber bands from the bottom of the hopper base to over the top of the hopper are able to keep the feeding portion of the hopper in place.

                                                Bought this model 4 years ago at the recommendation of a professional barista. I love it, especially that it grinds for drip, espresso and anything in between! And thanks for the tip on grain leakage - easy fix. It’s a trouper of a grinder and is a great bargain to boot!!

                                                    after several years (at least 5) maybe more the Mr. Coffee Burr grinder has been a great friend to my love of coffee and grinding the beans before I brew. So easy. the measuring dial is perfect and weather I'm grinding or french press or drip or expresso it does the job!! Never had a problem. Soooo reliable

                                                      Great grinder for the price
                                                      I love this grinder and it has served me well. Sadly it has died and I need to replace it, but it was a hell of a trooper, grinding my beans daily for 10 years straight. I came to this site to get a new one and after seeing all of these negative reviews I decided to leave a positive one. Always take negative reviews with a grain of salt since people who are happy with a product do not tend to seek out forums to complain about their products on.

                                                        Hooper broke
                                                        Received as a gift in 12-19. Worked fine until the hooper started to disintegrate where it attaches to the base. Doesn’t look like there is a replacement available. Next burr grinder I’ll not be Mr.Coffee since this appears to be an issue others have experienced.

                                                          The hopper broke...
                                                          I have had this for two months. This grinder is extremely loud and the hopper has already broken off. There wasn't much holding it there except for a thin line of adhesive.

                                                            I bought this last year. It works fine, I ended up picking the grinder up only to drop the hopper and it broke instantly. If you are careful this grinder is the one for you. The amount you would pay for another hopper and a lid for hopper equals the same amount of how much you bought the product. That is even if you can find these parts. Good luck.
