Did what it's suppose to do. Take your time getting it started. Very thin so water and sun can get to new seeds.

I little difficult to get started unrolling but no biggie. Once it starts unrolling it does not roll out evenly as it "sticks" in places. The last 8 feet are useless as it is "underrolled".

Product would work great for ground cover I used it to cover a deer blind wish it had netting on both sides.

This is a great product. I moved into a new house with a new yard. I needed to keep the topsoil and hydro-mulch in place on a slope and it was easy to install and work with. Used the staples and secured it nicely. We have had 2 major Noreasters in 2 weeks each producing over 2" of rain in a very short period of time and it worked perfectly.

Met expectations and holds together well even with heavy foot and equipment traffic. Beats straw bales any day. A bit difficult to unroll, but would recommend.

This product rolled out like a dream! Very easy to work with...good erosion control and better than just loose straw. Whatever I didn't use I kept together and used it like a.waddle for more erosion control at the low end of our property.

We have steep hill of dirt that was washing off every time it rained. This fixed the problem. We planted grass seed under it, and it's growing great.

Yes, the straw is thin. Yes, it is difficult to unroll. Yes, I expect it to get caught in my mower blades. That being said, what do you expect? Nature of the beast and the price is great. I used it to cover topsoil and fescue seed on graded surfaces of 2:1 and 3:1 to cover an area where I removed some trees to prevent erosion. Works fine.

This product has plastic netting that gets caught in dogs nails. Works fantastic but not a good option for lawns with animals. You will be better off with patchmaster or hay.

Not bad. Not great. The placement of straw within the sheets isn't consistent. There are numerous areas where the straw is patchy or non-existent while other areas are relatively full. It can't be settling during shipping because the product is too tightly wound. I also found that the further you get in the roll the more consistent and full the placement is. Once you unroll it, there is no shaking it to get more even placement of the straw, it simply falls through the mesh on to the ground. Don't let the product picture fool you, the product you receive is no where near as full as shown.

I bought 5 bundles of this product. Of the 5, three of them ripped by the wind after installing and blanket lost its straw coverage for lot of my seeded areas. Though I used steel blanket pins to hold the product, they couldn't withstand heavy winds. But 2 blankets stayed well. They sustained wind which blew between 22 to 26 mph. I guess they are not consistent in quality. Moreover, I'm not convinced with my purchase. I thought I picked right line after some research. I rate 2 out 5 for this product as only 2 blankets survived the weather. I request the product makers to attach some tag to unroll the product easily. It was little hard to find the head to start unrolling

I recently planted a hill with prairie grass and wild flowers, so I figured putting down an erosion blanket would be faster and better than using straw bales and having loose straw all over the hill, considering it has to be in place all winter. It would have definitely been easier, with a second person, but I had no problems laying the blanket, by myself (other than a sore back). The hardest part was cutting pieces to fit the remaining area to be covered, once the main strip was laid. I did run out, but I think with better planning and less overlapping (and a second person), I might have been able to cover it all. If I ever do something like this, again, I will be buying another of these erosion blankets. This erosion blanket is well worth the money. I highly recommend getting about 100 landscape staples, to hold the blanket down. As I was working, the wind picked up and rolled up part of the blanket I didn't have stapled, yet.

The mat rolled out to form a very even spread of the straw. The grass seed is looking great for germination. Great for moisture retention in a very sandy soil.

Ordering and delivery went great ( thanks UPS), but the actual product was difficult to work with. The straw is sparse and is mostly just nylon mesh. The roll itself is very heavy. I didn't have problems (as others did) with finding the beginning of the roll, my problem was that where there was no straw, the mesh sticks to itself. I ordered 4 rolls. I used one roll and returned the other 3 ( thank you UPS for picking up). The smaller rolls maybe easier to work with, but they need more straw for the price of the roll.

Not what i expected. the hay is spread very inconsistently so that some spots are so dense it is preventing the grass from growing while others have no hay for large areas. I will be pulling this up as soon as the grass is decently established. However, it did keep the rain from causing as much runoff and did help keep the dirt moist for longer so its not without use.

Second purchase of this product. First one was easy to use, effective and worked as advertised. I had ordered two rolls though, but only one was delivered. Other was returned to HD, I had to reorder to get this second roll. However, due to two week delay, window to use the product for fall seeding had passed. So it stands in my garage, unused, because of logistical SNAFU. We will see how it works in 6 months.
