very hard to install on a hollow core metal door, might work better on a solid wood door. if your door is not smooth and has an embossed design it doesn't fit correctly. block out cover will not stay on, had to attach with Velcro.

This is the perfect pet door if you have a big and smaller dog. It is low enough for the Yorkie-poo to get through and yet high enough for my Greyhound to walk through without having to squat.

It was better than expected. First, I was worried that it wouldn't be complete, and I would have to buy more parts. Not true. It comes with the "inner" part that goes between the inside and outside frame. Some doors don't. This has everything you need. I actually bought it to go through a wall on my mobile home. The walls are only about 3 inches (wider than a door) but I added some longer screws, and it still works perfectly. A word of advice: Don't buy a doggie door that's too big. Get one smaller than you expect, and mount it a few inches from the floor. Dogs will step over it anyway, and as long as the top is just few inches above their shoulders, it will be perfect. Perfect fit = measure between top of dogs head and bottom of chest while standing, and add 3 inches (or less). If you have a "fattie", better measure across the chest and add an inch. I bought a small PetSafe 8.125 in. x 12.25 in. for my pug, and my son's golden retriever uses it too with no problems! I didn't expect it, but he squeezes through easily in 2 seconds or less. Another worry was uninvited pests (bugs, mice, etc.) No problem again. I sprayed some natural cedar oil spray (any essential oils should work and last long) and not a sign of any unwanted visitors. (Wait a few days before applying so as not to deter your pets.) It solves more than the potty problems. It's entertainment, too. (For them and me!) They love to sit on the outside stoop and just look around. I built a small 20' x 20' fenced area for their potty needs, off the back of the home, and a little stoop and steps going down. (I didn't want stinkies all over the yard!) They just LOVE the freedom of going in and out, in and out, in and out, and think they are going somplace exciting. Like taking a walk without the human. The only problem is that the dogs go in and out a million times a day, and sometimes just come in and sit and stare at the door like they can't believe it. I should probably buy a replacement just incase, but this one looks like it will last years. This is the first time I ever posted a review for anything. I am so happy with this product I just had to share! AND the price was better than I could find anywhere else. See picture.

Door looks to be of good quality but the dimensions on the website are not accurate. The outside dimensions of the door are 10 1/2" x 15" and the dimensions of the opening are 8 1/4" x 13 1/2" (the dimensions of the opening are even listed inaccurately on the box!)

Simple installation. Traced and cut out opening with jig saw and sandwiched the 2 pieces together using plastic screws.other than the plastic hardware , this is an excellent product.

Very pleased with this PetSafe plastic door. I have 2 yorkies less than 10 lbs each. They say the small door is the correct size. I think they are nuts. I bought the medium, up to 40 lb dog, which is the perfect size. I don’t think my dogs would use the smaller door. The box has a picture of a collie using this medium door. There is no way a collie can fit through this door. Buy the next bigger size than they say. I installed this door into my very cheap, back yard, storm door. The cut-out I framed with 1x2 furring strip for added support (on the inside) due to my flimsy storm door. Otherwise, every time the dogs would use the doggie door, it would wobble in & out from them pushing their heads into the flap. This is working out great. I just open my exterior house door, then the dogs go through the pet door, in the storm door, & out into the fenced in yard. For the first 2 days I taped the flap up so the dogs would get used to going in and out of this little doorway. They caught on quick. Then I dropped the flap down. One dog understood what to do as soon as I bumped her head against the flap a few times. The other dog took several bumps and a couple days. I did switch the screws with the size I needed. I don’t trust the plastic screws that come with the pet-door.

I put this in a hollow door and it took less than an hour. All you need is a drill and a jigsaw. Just trace the pattern and cut the hole out. The hardest part is trimming the plastic filler panels.

It was bought to replace a exsisting Pet safe door that I had. The quality of this one was much less then the older one. Older one had a nice metal frame which added to the durability of the first one. Also this one had different hole alignments for the bolts.

Installation went smoothly and it fits nicely. My dog (small standard poodle) can use it easily. I am pleased with the amount of outside air the swinging flap keeps out. The only problem is that it can't keep the dog out. The plastic cover is flimsy enough so that she can force it off from the outside.

As mentioned in most reviews, the door is too hard for young cats to open and it doesnt close. Fit and construction are good but it fails its mission. There are no solutions offered in the Questions so look elsewhere.

We had the same size and brand doggy door since 2018, I had to buy a brand new one because the flap frame got broken, the holes are in differnet places than the old model and we had to make new holes to our door, a job that could take 10 min took 2 hours to drill more holes to our metal door. Also, the cover is SO hard to remove and is very flemsy, I've broken my nails severaltimes trying to open it, it's a nightmare.

The flap does not always close so air and snow can go into the interior. The safety cover snaps in and does not always stay attached. The cover is also hard to remove and is very flemsy. There are much better dog doors than this. Get aa door that has a slide in cover. They are much better

Purchased 4 years ago (12/2018) and is still holding up. I have two 20 pound dogs that fly through the door 10 times a day. The top of the outer flap has about a 1-1/2 inch tear that started recently. But after 4 years of HARD use I’m pretty happy with that. Since that’s all that is bad I’m wondering if I can buy just the flap?? Overall, I would say it’s a very good doggy door. Stops the cold for sure. If I can’t find the flap I will buy another of the same.

It does not have a closed seal. I didn’t bother installing it after seeing this. I don’t want bugs in my house, and I dont want to run the HVAC system 24/7…. I will be returning.

Unfortunately I ordered a dog door for a door, I needed it for a wall. I used the frame into the wall and framed it in. Works

The pet door fit prefectly. My pup is about 10 lbs and can easily let 25 lb dog in and out. Pet door helped house break our puppy quickly

Not even worth the effort to return. Why not stove bolts instead of nylon. What a joke.

Smaller and less substantial than expected. Will not order the plastic frame again. Not worth the money.
