Square recess is too shallow, won't stay on the bit when starting to drive in drywall, like other screws I've bought. I'll fight though 25# but won't buy again.

Way better than Phillips head screws
They work perfectly. Far better than Phillips head screws. I'm rebuilding the first floor of my house and this is one of the best purchases I've made on this project. Putting up ~60 sheets of 1/2" drywall. Never done it before, but (I think ;-) ) I can do anything. Started with Phillips #2, bought in-store, using Milwaukee screw shooter, got that dialed in, but still not working as well as I thought it should. Knowing that the square (Robertson) heads should solve some of the problems with the Phillips bits, I looked for them. Surprised that they could only be ordered online, which made me a little doubtful (like maybe there was a good reason that most people don't use them), but I bought anyway. They're absolutely perfect. No problems like I had with the Phillips. They'll stick in the screw bit without falling off, they won't strip the head so the head stays perfectly smooth. I had been concerned that if Phillips is "standard" for this, then maybe the depth-control mechanism in the screw gun was designed/tuned for a Phillips head cam-out release. But no problems at all. If anything, the Robertson head makes the screw gun seem better. Very clean consistent release. They cost a little more since they need to be shipped, but well worth it. I weighed the screws and the 25-lbs measured in at 25 lbs, 1.2 oz. That should tell you something about their manufacturing tolerances = excellent. Not below spec, but also not excessively above it. Unlike some of the other boxes of screws I've bought, there were no damaged screws included; but there was one ~2.5" Philips #8, which was kind of a surprise.

Good deal if you need lots of screws
Trying to find 1-1/4" square bit drywall screws where I live is almost impossible, even at the big box hardware stores, so I was pleased to get this 25# box for the price of about two 5# boxes. So far very few screws have broken from over-torquing them, and square bit beats phillips every time.
