The unit was burnt up when I opened the box. You could even smell it before opening. Had to take back HD didn’t have any others bought something else. HD should do a better job of inspecting returned product

I bought this light on Oct. 7, 2017 and it failed this week. It only lasted a little over a year. Of course, the warranty is only 1 year so I am stuck with it. For $99, this should be high quality light. I am disappointed in Home Depot and this China made trash.

I coupled this light with a dusk to dawn photo eye and it works great. It is 30ft in the air on a pole and the light covers a lot of area. Very satisfied with this light.

I bought this product on January 21st of 2017. It is now failing 1 year and 3 months later. Doesn't seem to be a good value for me. It started flickering and going off/coming on in March. Not sure how long these are supposed to last, but 1 year for $99.97 doesn't make it in my book. It does not go on and off with light/darkness, so sometimes it was left on all day, maybe that contributed to it's early demise. I've read that when this starts happening with this type of bulb the ballast goes bad, giving it the wrong amperage and unable to maintain proper voltage, so you need new ballast too. Who wants a bulb that you can't replace without getting new ballast etc., taking it off the wall on a ladder and rebuilding it, just to put it back up. I am thinking of replacing this with an led fixture that takes a normal bulb. When the bulb fails, you just screw another one in and go about your business. You don't have to spend a day or 2 rebuilding it, finding the right ballast, going to the store twice, re-installing it etc. What a pain! Haven't been happy with any of these lights. This was a replacement for a sodium halide lamp that went bad after 3 months. I'm getting away from anything with a ballast. That's old technology. I never reviewed this until it failed, so this is when I did it. It lasted about 1 year for $99 dollars. This is just my opinion, it runs on normal voltage with 3 wires, so it was definitely hooked up right, but maybe power outages affect these in an adverse way as well. Works great and not too heavy to install by yourself. Takes less than two minutes to get to full intensity.

It did not work out for us because the wall connection was different than what was previously there. However, if it had been the same, we would've kept it.

Replacement fixture was easy to install

We installed 4 of these around the house and they are super bright, our place is lit up like a car dealership. Almost too bright! We replaced 300watt halogen fixtures and these are by far whiter and brighter. We have no close neighbors these work for us. One stopped working after about 4 years and the bulbs last is about 1-1.5 years and around $25 to replace. Certainly not the cheapest around but they perform. The lights are used every night on our property. They turn on slowly and take about 80 seconds to achieve max output. If you turn them off, and turn on right away it will take about 2 minutes to fire back up.

I purchased this light after comparing it's purchase price and yearly operation cost to that of similar models. It was easy to install and after installing one light to see how well it worked I replaced are other lights with the same model.

This light was easy to install and provides great security lighting.

Easy to install. Will last forever. Way better than those halogen lights I had been using.

After the bulb warms up it is very bright. Takes a few minutes though.

The lights are great. They put off a LOT of light considering the wattage. I wanted to light up about a 1/3 of an acre and was looking for lights I could mount on my backyard pavilion to do it. I was first looking at halogen, but mounting two lights at 1500w a bulb I was going to have to run some monster wire to feed them over the distance I was going to have to run the wires. That's what led me to these lights. I mounted them quick and dirty to see if they would work and whoa! I just finished all of my conduit runs and the two lights are on and blazing, sipping a mere 200w compared to what I was thinking, and my backyard is lit nicely. Just be careful with the lock ring on the mount as they can break easily. The lights are heavy and it wasn't the most fun job mounting them up to their boxes, but it wouldn't deter me from doing it again. Good purchase.

Purchased this light to use in a 10-12 hr/day location. Installed fine, looks fine, works fine. Bulb lasted less than 2 months. HD wants $30.00 for a replacement bulb. NO! Found a bulb for almost 1/3 the cost. It fits fine and looks great. Has been in operation for 5 months steady. No problems with the fixture but the supplied bulbs are reviewed here as having a very short life span. The HD replacements are both expensive and are reviewed as also having a very short life span.

These fixtures are purchased as we replace old units, the fixtures hold up well and look great, the bulbs are very expensive at 32.00 each.

Installation on eve of second story is difficult without a helper to hold so you can get the connections tightened up and installed. Light put off a good amount of white light.

Our agency purchased 2 of these units, the 1st in July of 2013, and 2nd in October of 2013. Both were installed in weather sheltered locations on the building. BOTH failed within a year of installation. These units were controlled by photo cell for Dusk to Dawn operation. If you consider an average of 12 hours of operation per day X 365 days that would equal 4380 hours per year. The bulb life was rated at 12,000 hours. We reasonably should have expected at least two years of operation before needing to replace the bulbs. Home Depot offers 90 Day return window and Lithonia a 1yr. manufacturer's warranty.

These are well made ligjting units at a very fair price. I have installed several over the last 10years and they are all going strong. Nice bright light after they warm up (60 - 90 seconds).
