Generally I liked the product, I mounted it in a wall, but the design has a flaw, That is if the latch gets pushed down accidentally, the cat can go out, but not back in, or if pushed further will lock completely. I hadn't seen my cats for a couple days, I checked the door, one of them either stepped on the latch or batting at the door with his / her paw moved the latch and have locked themselves out accidentally. The latch needs to be recessed or something to prevent the cat from locking it.

Good door, cat is chunky and fit well, learned pretty quickly to use. Kind of finicky to align so door swings freely. Any uneven mounting makes it not work well, so you have to adjust carefully. Overall good recommend .

Not really for a Chubby Cat, but Love the Name. It was perfect for my 11 1/2 pound Dog.

Our doors aren't really the right style for this so I had to improvise and mount it a little higher and one sided.. at first our cat wasn't fond of the height but three days later she's in and out like its always been there. **Her box is in our utility room so this gives her access and also a getaway from the new pup. This is not for an outside wall application. It does tend to sit partially open instead of returning to fully closed. Not an issue in our application.

We have had this door for years, just moved and bought a new one. The car fits and our dog and children do not. It can be locked and looks great/conveniently fits in door.

Nice door, but don't count on the lock to stop any determined cat to defeat the lock and get through the door. I used mine for one side of a Lexan window well cover vestibule. I made a custom cat door for my basement window. It faces the prevailing wind, so in the winter the door often blew open and hung open making for a cold basement. I added the vestibule with the door facing away from the prevailing wind. So far the vestibule is doing it's job, it must be sealed tightly with weather stripping. I had this door installed by a professional and it looks nice. Unfortunately, the locking mechanism for the swinging door is poorly made. It sits too low in the pet door frame and will not hold the door locked in any position and can easily be opened. I do not want my pets getting out in the evening - I have to completely block the pet door. I would not recommend if you need to lock the door. If the lock is not important - it looks great and works as expected.

The whole thing seems sturdy enough. The door is a bit tight and my cats took longer to get comfortable pushing it open than other doors. Because the of the tightness the door also does not come all the way down by itself. Not a problem right now with the mild weather, but it will be an issue in winter. There is also a wonky spot on the plexiglass too where the image gets distorted. Ideally I would like a replacement.

Placed in an indoor hollow door about a month ago. My cat is a 12 pound ragdoll and fits through the door. Learning curve for the cat of about a day. Do teach pet how to use it as my cat managed to get her paw stuck (she kept pulling at the door) but I was there to get her free. I’ve only used the locking mechanism once but it seemed to work fine. Overall, would buy again and recommend.

Super easy to install. Once I was able to borrow a jigsaw it only took a few minutes. It did take 2 people to stabilize the door during drilling, cutting, and tightening. We did have one little issue that was totally out fault, but if you're having trouble getting the holes to line up and the screws to properly tighten the door, make sure both pieces are right side up! In addition to the recommended tools, don't forget to put down tarp or something to catch the sawdust and bits of door and have a vacuum handy for cleanup. I used this in my bedroom door so my cats can get in and out while I can still close the door for privacy. I just wish the door flap was opaque or smoky colored instead of clear for even more privacy and light control, but I knew this when I chose it and I will alter it myself if need be after using it for a time. It looks great and is working well so far.

Delivery was quick and clean. Enjoyed the installation. No tricks. Template sized properly and does the job. With a molded door (see photo), making the cat door swing was tricky but keeping the cat door frame straight across front of door did the trick. In use for three months. Definitely meets my expectation. Cat loves it, dog is amazed by disappearing cat.

Several years ago I purchased a new door to my backyard that had a pet door installed. After probably 8 years, it had a crack in it - Still serviceable, but not very attractive. This was a replacement door for this pet door. It was a perfect fit and installed in minutes. The old door held up extremely well - I have multiple pets that use the door several times a day each. This is a great product with a clear acrylic hard door flap that holds up much longer than the soft flaps - yes, I have used doors with those and my young dog chewed it up in a couple of days. And it also has a toggle you can use to allow the door to only swing one way or not at all. If you have smaller pets (I have a pug, an eskimo spitz, and a couple of large male cats - All less than 30 pounds) - this is the best present you can give them. Access to their fenced in back yard and back to their home.

Door works fine for a cat or medium size dog. Door lock is OK but a bit cumbersome. Additional swivel bars along each side would give more comfort as to security.

Nice door even though our cats can manipulate the door when its set to open in only one direction.

Chubby Kat Door worked great. When we bought it, I didn't pay attention to the fact that it was supposed to be installed in a door (I was installing it in a one sided sheet rock wall, but with a little bit of spare 1 inch thick boards, we were able to install it exactly how we planned. Install was easy with the supplied template (easier in sheet rock than in a wood door). Also, remember to center it from the outside, not the inside (I mean, we're only off by about an inch if that)....

My new Cat Flap Door was just what I needed for several of my cats who live outdoors, by their own choice. They do like having a way into my attached storage room. In the pas they have literally jumped over an 8' wall that was only partially sealed. We have only 2 seasons in Arizona where I live. It's either too hot, or too cool, so they go in and out as they please. I already had 2 other installations in use, but none directly accessible from the back yard. So far, they like using it, and I see them inside lounging around. Very pleased with this new kitty/doggy door. I also replaced the exterior door, so adding the kitty/doggy door at this time was the ideal situation.

Installed in a storm door. The installation was fairly easy. I just had to make 1/4 inch shims to have the door held inplace securely. The flapper moves freely and the cats figured out how to use it the same day.

Not for multiple cats. I've had this door for a year and a half and I have 3 cats. I thought it would be helpful to put the setting on "in only" when we bring them in at dusk. Well it didn't take long for all 3 cats to master the "in only" setting and find their ways out! They can all pull the flap in towards them, peak their head under, and escape - easily and often on the first try. And my smartest cat can swat the switch over from "locked" to "out only" which then locks himself out.

Cat loves it and I am no longer getting up at 3 am to let meowing cat out. So Ya it is nice to have and it works great

It took a week for the cat to get used to it but he's got it figured out now. It just took a bit of "encouragement". Works perfectly. Easy to install - provided you have the right tools and know how to use a level. This is installed in the door from the house into the garage where the litter box lives. I'm not inclined to have this on an exterior door just because of bugs and security issues.

Perfect size for Tinker, my chubby cat. (29 lbs) I bought two doors. I've set up a feeding station in the hall closet, so the dogs can't steal his food. One door leads into the closet, the other takes him out to the garage and his litter box. It's a great arrangement, and the doors work perfectly.

This cat door was very easy to install. The directions were very clear. My only suggestion is that this door being used for a small dog or an extremely large cat. Our cat is large, 16 pounds, and this door is very large for him. I installed the cat door in a piece of plywood and attach the plywood to the basement window sash.

Easy to install with the proper tools. (jigsaw is best, although can be done with a keyhole saw). Now if the critters would just start using it. Excellent is reserved for the $100 model that has the flexible swinging door. This works fine for the cost.

Instructions where clear and easy to follow, and template was well marked.

Installed easily. Works perfectly. Took a little coaxing to get the cats to use it, but they're pros now. I only wish it came in more colors. :)
