Worked perfectly for outdoor roofing project
We used this product for an unusual project - gluing "grass" outdoor carpet to the roof of our screen porch to reduce the noise of rain and falling nuts. Due to our roof having a composite composition we wondered if it would work - and it did! Very, very pleased with the results. No more TV-drowning noise from the roof!

HORRIBLE PRODUCT
Followed instructions and used on outdoor carpet on covered porch! The glued bled through the gray carpet leaving white marks all over! Ruined a 12 x 25 piece of carpet. Would not recommend this adhesive!

Response from The ManufacturerAug 11, 2020
Roberts understands installing a new outdoor floor covering can be challenging. Here are some key product usage points regarding the 6700 adhesive that may improve performance and satisfaction. Adhesive bleed through is most commonly caused by the adhesive field lacking the appropriate amount of open time. During the installation process- after the adhesive is applied to the substrate, the adhesive will need to stand open for approximately 20-30 minutes prior to the carpet entering the adhesive field. This ensures the adhesive doesn't filter through the carpet backing and into the fibers. This also ensures the adhesive builds bond strength and promotes the curing process over the next 24-48 hours. - Bailey Customer Care QEP

This product worked great for attaching indoor/outdoor carpet to my cellar stairs. I cut the carpet to fit the full tread with enough carpet to fold over the front. Then glued it to the top of the tread only and let it dry. Once dried I turned the front edge and and stapled it to the underside with a pneumatic stapler. Very happy with the clean look.

Easy to apply, I used a paintbrush. Used a layer of about a 1/4 inch. I clamped down the starting point and rubbed the carpet over the adhesive and let it set over night. It was ready for wear after that. Clean up was pretty simple for hands you just lightly scrubbed with soap and hot water.

I used CV this to adhere large upholstery sections to plywood panels for the interior of my 1967 van project. Easy to spread, easy to reposition if needed. Very low odor. Good value and performance.

i'm floored that this is the best way to put on carpet glue. make sure you have a lot!! and it's not cheap. corners don't stay you need a very thick coating to get a full adhesion. overall very dissatisfied with the process.. laminate counters and contact cement to me sounds like a better way to go

I spread it on the bottom side of my putting green, along the edges only, to keep the wind from blowing it up. It is 15 feet wide and 45 feet long. So far, it has worked perfectly.

Used it to redo my patio floor.with artifical grass carpet. It is easy to use with the trowel but quite messy so use throw away clothes. The glue also bleeds through, so i used pattern carpet, hopefully it will stay put, only time will tell.

This turf adhesive work really well, easy to apply, when I used it for my artificial turf. Since putting the turf down it's been raining every day. The turf is still sticking down in pIace! My project is still incomplete because of weather however, I'm pleased so far. I would recommend it!

Just follow the instructions! I must admit that this is the second time I have used ROBERTS 6700 carpet adhesive. The first time I used it for putting new carpet on my boat bunks. I was not happy with its performance. It did not seem to cure properly and I had the glue bleed through the carpet. But I did not follow the instructions completely. This time I was putting new carpet on the floor and seats of my aluminum boat and I followed the instructions to a “T”. I was very happy with the results. By following the instructions I found out that the glue must be troweled with the proper raised notches for the material you are using. If you do that you will not have any bleed through and even the corners will hold. You must let the glue cure for 48 to 72 hours before walking on it and the carpet will not move. I let it cure for 72 hours before I stapled the edges. To clean your tools use WD-40, it completely breaks down this glue so that it wipes right off and lubricates your trowel at the same time. I put down about 50 square feet of carpet on my boat and used about a one half gallon of glue. I am glad I gave ROBERTS 6700 glue a second chance it proved to be the right decision.

The adhesive is not very viscous and applies easily with a chip brush followed by a notched trowel. A professional installer advised against the 1/8"x1/8" square notch spreader in favor of a 1/16" U-notch design indicating the extra thickness only served to inhibit set time. We applied on the interior of a fiberglass boat and the conditions were hot and humid. The adhesive took two days to become tacky but eventually held the carpet in place with the many inside and outside radii making for a difficult installation. Clean up of tools was easy, arms and legs not so much. Recommend gloves to anyone doing a big job for sure. Final phase of installation to take place this weekend with forecast high 60's and much lower humidity so may have different experience to report afterwards.

turf adhesive. WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME
I purchased this to put underneath some green carpeting I purchase for my outdoor oasis room The room has no roof so it is exposed to the elements. i was told by the home depot sales person who cut the carpeting that this was what is used to secure the green carpeting . So I put the glue down as instructed. This stuff gets all over everything clothes, hands, anything you touch, and when you are done putting it down and put the carpet over it it stains permanently through the carpet horribly leaving large white spots on the surface.. Looks like bird droppings... I now have to tear this stuff up and figure out now if I am going to just paint the ground with driveway paint or start all over again.

        Basement carpet tile installation
I used this adhesive to put down over 1200 sq. ft. of 18"x18" rubber-backed carpet tiles directly on my concrete basement floor. It worked very well. Each 4 gal. bucket covered about 400 sq.ft. so plan accordingly. Any accidental glue spills or drops can be cleaned up with a wet rag. After the glue cured, I had to fix a tile that wasn't cut correctly and had to use a prybar to get the tile up! I can't vouch for it getting soaking wet, but I did use hot water and a shop-vac to clean a 5'x5' area with no problems.

Awesome Carpet Adhesive-Easy to use before cure time expires
The Roberts 6700 carpet adhesive worked great for me. I had to replace the floor in my recessed front porch and after installing a rubber membrane with rubber cement on 3/4" AC plywood the Roberts adhesive glued my new Lancers Marine capret down like a professional installation. I bought my $2.97 Roberts dual V notched trowel and it works great, all the above items, adhesive, trowl and a 6'x20's roll or Lancers marine carpet came to only 156 bux so a very budget friendly price on this project.

Easy to apply. It's not sticky. You have time to work with the carpet to put down and position.
