Photos and comments helped me dive-in and try this product. My biggest concern in buying the 65W Equivalent Soft White (2700K) Recessed Retrofit Down LED Light (4-Pack) was installation-Could I extract the 30 year old downlight housing and preserve the socket and electrical connection in the kitchen? Would the LED fixture fit into my 6" diameter downlight holes ? And would it fit flush against the ceiling?
Took some tries and strength to extract the old housing, but the new product fit fine.
I do wonder how to remove and fit a halo ring so it fits more flush, but for now it looks good and is very bright.

A really good investment.
These retrofit lights are well designed and constructed. They really provide a lot more light than I expected. They also are quite attractive.

Very nice upgrade
These were generally easy to install but I also experience some of the same issues of other buyers. I found the trim to be just a hair too small. It needed to be a good 6 3/4-7" diameter to cover up the hole cut for the can. Also, the pressure fitting used to hold the light in place was effective but not perfect, hence 4 stars. Biggest issue with the pressure fitting was the can would move when pushing the new light in place. I ended up using the trim from the previous can to fill the gap of issue one. With the small relief still showing from the pressure fitting, the trim from the old light and new made a double trim edge accentuating the lack of super-flush fit. It looks like there was a new model on the shelf when I bought these on clearance for $10 each. For that price, I took the $120 upgrade at $60 and called it a day.

Great LED lights
I feel this was a great buy. They installed easily and I also was able to spray paint them to a bronze color that my wife wanted.

Retrofit Lighting
These worked well in our situation, they were a little difficult at first to get to fit up flush with the ceiling, but after I got the hang of it they slid in place. They put off a good light.

Very easy install!!
I replaced all of the high hats in my house with these LEDs. Very happy with the purchase. The install was very easy less than 5 mins per light. Its nice how the trim and light fit against ceiling and seal out air/and bugs coming from attic. They dim nicely with my existing dimmers and no warm up time like with the other lamps.

Easy to install, bright lights.
While this would seem to be perfect, easy to install, good price and light, the "grippers" do not seat evenly in the ceiling cans. One corner on each will not seat flush to the ceiling. The metal ceiling light cans in the ceiling, prevent the new light grippers from a tight fit on all sides. 1 of the 4 grippers always has to bend in, so that 1 gripper not hold tight to the ceiling.

Great purchase
Great light, but the installation did not go as easily as I wanted. The trim that this light replaced was smaller diameter than my old one and the old one had an adhesive strip between the trim and ceiling. When this old trim was removed, this insulation pulled the paper off the sheet rock.

Easy to install; questionable warranty
I purchased 8 of these lights during a one day sale for a great price. The install was super easy. I was done in about 20 minutes. My only concern is that the lights are supposed to last 36 years but they are only warrantied for one year. I've had an LED light fail after 3 years. The manufacturer (CREO) replaced the light for free, no questions asked. I would hope that Phillips would do the same should one of these lights fail. The warranty is the only reason I am not giving this a 5 star rating.

Purchased to install using the older existing can lights. These put out so much more light and more energy efficient. Updated the look also. Fairly easy to install. Good DIY project.

Less than pleased
I like the way they work but am not at all happy with the way they fit in the can. Other brands use a spring clip that attaches inside the can, slides in and out. These have two 'u' shaped brackets that are an ' interference fit'. Hard to push in. So hard I cracked the ceiling along a drywall joint which meant a repair and repaint of the kitchen ceiling. I'm thinking about returning them. Would not buy this brand again.

LED Lights for recessed cans
Very easy installation. Covers up the 6" hole from the old recessed cans. Lights are cool running so I insulated above the old cans in the attic. This should reduce heat/ cooling escaping through the top of the old cans. Best of all, the cost for a 4 pack was $60 versus the individual cost of about $20 each. Would buy another 4 pack if the offer comes up again...

Great lights. Bright and easy to install
I got these on sale and I am very happy with them. The previous owner of the home had put a mismatch of bulbs in 4 can lights and the trim was cracked on a couple. These all-in-one units solved both problems. Based on the bulbs that were in there before, these will pay for themselves in 2 years.

Easy switch
Quickly changed out 6 lights by removing old trim and screwing in the retrofit light. Trim snaps into old canister and you are done. Only concern will be if they don't last as long as advertised do I need to buy another retrofit ??

Similar experience as others
These were really easy to install. I put 8 of them in, in about 30 minutes. They are brighter than the florescent that they replaced and they fire up much more quickly in the room. The only downside is that they don't sit completely flush against the ceiling. However, if you don't look directly at it, then you wouldn't even know.

Easy Installation
Installed seven of these fixtures in family room/den. They adapted well to the previously installed can light shells. For my installation, the trim rings were only 7-1/16-inch diameter; one-half inch less diameter than the lights they replaced. Measure & cut carefully to avoid any drywall cuts showing outside of the trim ring!

Easy to install
Easy to install and will fit in the 6 in flood light enclosure. It took me just two hr to install 8. My wife love the soft white kitchen lights. Plenty of luminescence for the entire area.
