The compressor has a beautiful finish and is well built. I bolted the legs down with rubber pads. Performed the break-in procedure with the drain cock opened for 30 minutes. It takes approx. 5 minutes to fill the empty 60 gallons tank and approx. 1 minute to refill with auto on. The top of the manifold gets about 245 degrees F and the body of the pump gets approx. 150 degrees F. I think this compressor will provide many years of service life if properly maintained and cared.

Great performance, looks and value in one package
Could not pass up the Black Friday pricing on this one. It is built by Sanborn (in the business a long time) and seems to be rugged and reliable. It is a good looking compressor as well and compliments my roller tool boxes.

I had wanted a larger compressor for a while and caught this one on sale. It has met all my expectations.

      Broken parts
The unit was loaded on my pickup at your store and was still in it's factory wraping.Your loading dock personnel did an excellent job getting it on my truck. We did not unload unit for over a week till I came back from a trip. When we did unwrap it we found 2 pieces from the top of the compressor were broken (part #160-0266)We have to repair these parts before we can start the compressor and thus unable to write a review. Your loading people didn't damage it I believe it was done in transit to your store. Arthur G. Lang III

          Very good would buy again
This compressor far exceeded my expectations. I have used it on a few cars rebuilds, powering media blasters, dual action sanders, paint sprayers, and other power tools. It has not missed a beat.

          Great Compressor!
Bought this to use with a cup spray gun and to ratchet on cars. Works great have no complaints. It is quieter than my 5gallon pancake compressor. Only this is it lists it comes with a steel belt cover and it is plastic.

            Great Value
I ordered the compressor online and it was delivered in about 1 week. Wiring was a simple task and the compressor works great. In my opinion , this compressor is truely a great deal compared to the others out there.

Seems to work just Beautifully in these first 3 weeks
This is my first compressor, cut off and cut on levels are exactly on the mark, gave it a 20 amp dedicated circuit and it has yet to fail to start right up with a vigor or pump right up with a vigor! Heard what I thought was a little reed valve noise but it seems to have quieted down very nicely, noise level is tolerable and it is proving to be quite reliable!

Exactly what I was hoping for.
This is a nice air compressor. I was a little concerned whether it would fit my needs cfm and quality wise. I do a lot of hobbyist automotive restoration. Installation, the air compressor is not small by any means but I was able to move it where I needed it on a dolly. When it was delivered I just had them drop it inside the garage door as I had to clear a path (partially disassembled car) to where it was going. You do need a 220 outlet and to wire it in or to a cord. The wiring was easy, two screws under the pressure switch cover and a ground was connected to the motor (unscrew the plate on the motor). I just gave you more information on how to wire it than the manual has, but if your unsure get an electrician, it probably wouldn't take more than 5 minutes to connect the wires to the compressor. Everything was easily accessible, after it is wired up just do what the manual says to break it in. I left mine sitting on the small pallet it came on. I upgraded from a decent 25 gallon Craftsman, it got the job done 90% of the time, but it worked hard to do it. I have a sandblasting cabinet (small one) and a da sander. I haven't tested the new compressor with the da sander yet, but I have put some time on the blasting cabinet. It keeps up well. I have yet to have to wait for the compressor to keep up. It kicks on shortly after I start then if I'm not constantly blasting, ie checking the piece or moving it, it will have built up enough pressure to shut off surprisingly quickly. That would be the most air intensive thing I have done with the air compressor so far. To comment on the noise, I get mixed opinions from others that have heard it. I think its a little quieter than my Craftsman, but the general consensus is that is a different noise, far less annoying and overwhelming. Note - I found Powermate compressor oil at my local Menards, there are no HomeDepot anywhere close to me. Chances are if you don't see an "Update" at the bottom its still going strong.

Does what I need it to do, easy to setup.
I was able to catch a special sale price for this, hence the high value rating. I selected it based on HD reviews and additional reviews for this model PowerMate on other sites. For me it has the right combination of capacity, PSI and SCM for soda blasting in a home garage - so it's hobby use. I've not had another compressor so I can't compare noise levels. It's noisy enough that I don't want to be around it while it's running for more than a few minutes, but not so noisy that it disturbs anyone else in the house. Ran it for 30 minutes break-in per the instructions and hooked it up with 3/8" high pressure hydraulic hose running to 1/2" black pipe and a Craftsman regulator. Make sure you have enough steel piping, a cooler or a good water-trap if you need to avoid moisture in the lines

            Workhorse
I use this for working on my classic VW's and my other daily drivers. I also use it to clearcoat custom made wood surfboards along with a number of side uses. Good grief, how did I ever live without one. This drives a 650 ft lb torque wrench with ease. I was surprised at how little the compressor has to kick in. The tank has plenty of reserve. My only complaint is that it does not come with a regulator, and do not buy the one HD sells. (The one by Husky) It is no good! This compressor, however, is top notch. Just make sure you read the instructions and follow the break-in procedure. It is very very important to break it in before you use it. Simple procedure- let it run for whatever they recommend (I forget now, I think 20 minutes) then change the oil. In one afternoon I did complete brake jobs on my 1970 Karmann Ghia and my 2000 XTerra. You just can't beat air tools with proper CFM's running them. If you have a place with 220V get this compressor. Use a long air hose if you have to. I plug mine up where my dryer plugs in and run a 100' hose around to the driveway. It is way better than waiting for a smaller compressor to recycle all the time.

              Definately a nice compressor!
Very quiet compared to the previous compressor we had, (we replaced with the same model, but the old unit had a twin V instead of the twin vertical cylinders and old unit seemed to be noisier). Very pleased with it. It would have been nice if this was available in the stores though and not have to pay $100 shipping. I bought the next smaller unit from the store and it was poorly constructed, the plastic tube to the pressure switch popped out and was not repairable in house). This unit seems to have a metal tube in it's place.

Nice quality at a fair price.
I use this compressor mostly on weekends for my auto restoration hobby. It powers tools and paint sprayers well in my garage-shop. It is a nice, quality unit that has worked flawlessly since setup. Air compressor arrived on a pallet by truck on time. Electrical hookup to the Condor control switch was straight forward. A smooth operating unit that is quieter than many others out there.

              Good price. $439 delivered
Check valve went out after 40 hrs of use. I think the second check valve is starting to go out. Probably has something to do with tank getting so hot. The compressor does perform as indicated. Would like to have seen a 1/2" outlet on the tank. If you need this air flow for short periods of time this compressor would be fine but for 5 or 6 hrs of continuous painting with HVLP better have some extra check valves handy.

                Efficient air compressor
Needed to replace an old, worn-out compressor of same size and liked the price and advertised features of this Powermate. Perhaps because it is new (?), the pump is annoyingly loud as it fills the tank. The tank also becomes extremely warm to the touch after filling. My old compressor was much quieter and cooler, too, during operation. Still, the Powermate does do what it is advertised to do and I can find no fault with the results thus far.

This Powermate 60 Gallon compressor is the best compressor I've used. And a good compressor for the price too.

Ordered this Air compressor about a month ago. It arrived quickly and so far works great. I was expecting a 1/2" port out of the tank but it came with a 3/8" port. I was also expecting it to be a little bit more quieter than my previous compressor, so Other than the port size and noise I am very pleased with the compressor so far.

                  Great compressor.
I needed a larger compressor and for the price this is the best I've found. Smooth running, did the 30 minute break in without bolting it to the floor and it hasn't moved, though I do plan to secure it. Looks to be a quality product built with pride in the U S. Just two complaints: The compressor is shipped bolted to a fairly small pallet with just a plastic bag on top and shrink wrap to protect the tank. The first one arrived severly damaged and I refused delivery. Home Depot was very helpful and got another one sent. The second one arrived OK. My other complaint is with the wiring diagram. There isn't one! The two screws on the pressure switch where you connect the hot wires are delicate and short. I undid one too far, something stripped and it wouldn't go back in. Ended up tapping to 8-32x3/8. Also ran a neutral/ground wire to motor where there wasn't one. Overall, this is a great compressor and I would buy it again.

60 Gallon Stationary Twin Cylinder Cast Iron air c
I have not had no problems with it so far. It is a lot quiter than my other compressor. Does almost everything that I want it to do. Have to watch out for how much air I use on my orbital sander though. But it has fast recovery time. But for a small home shop it is just perfect for me as far as operation and cost of compressor.

Great item, even better with free shipping
Excellent compressor, actually the same compressor and motor as the Industrial air 60 gallon model. Good flow rate, you'll want to pick up the regulator for this as the factory setting was the full 155psi rating of the tank. Also the unit ships out of MN if you are buying online
