Plug fits well and is easily expanded to provide a solid seal when installed. The large wing nut made an easy firm fit with no leaking. The dynamic plug can be used on 3" PVC pipe for minor to medium pressure. This plug can be used to test pipe for low air preasure drop testing and gravity water leak detection. It is a simple device for a very specific use.

The plug is sturdy construction and is easy to use. I tested it on 3" ABS and 3" Ridged pipe and it tightened properly in both cases. The label on the top says to "Stand Clear While In Use". Depending on the use, the plug can become a projectile if you pressurize the attached pipe. The force on the plug is 7.1 time the pressure behind it. If this was a 50 psi system (house water pressure) you would have over 350 pounds of pressure driving a 0.6 pound plug. That is going to be fast and dangerous at close range. My use for this plug is as a cover for a vertical drain so that water, rain, trash, or animals cannot get into the pipe when it is sealed. In my case, for outside use, the maximum pressure would be the atmosphere at 15 psi or a force under 80 pounds on the plastic top if the pipe was under a vacuum condition (water trying to drain out while sealed). I will still tighten it so that the seal takes the load in addition to the plastic rim. The last use would be for the bottom of a swimming pool. Now the pressure is determined by the depth of the water. My calculations would expect 8.3 pounds of pressure for every 33 inches in depth. 5 foot deep pool would be about 116 lbs against seal and plastic. Nice product.

For a simple plugging device, this unit is very well made of heavy duty durable materials. I really like the fact that this plug is designed to be very easy to disassemble giving the user access to all the components for cleaning or replacement of worn parts if necessary. The metal parts appear to be stainless steel which will be long lasting and corrosion resistant.

The purpose of this plug is to temporarily cap a drain pipe. When doing remodeling it can be necessary to have drain pipes open for a few days. This particular plug is for 3 inch ID pipes usually found in areas like a toilet. It's important to cap off these 0ipes for a couple reasons. 1. To prevent average from backing up in the pipe. And 2 more overly to prevent gasses from coming up through the pipes as methane and raw sewer age is not a pleasant smell or healthy.

I re-purposed these plugs. I used these on a John Deere 512 front loader to make tool/accessory storage compartments. The plugs fit perfectly into the mounting brackets on each side of the tractor. The plugs fit into the 6" round x 11" long bracket extensions, making a good space to carry chains, towing lugs, pins, etc. A bonus is that the plugs are yellow - like the John Deere paint scheme.

Feels well made fit good still haven't had a "flooding" rain to "Test" it out. I'm confident it should hold.

Expensive, but worked axactly like it should. I couldn't find a new cap top a main drain pipe anywhere. It was a cap that slid inside the pipe not over top. They fixed the issue perfectly.
