Great solution to secure trees in tight spaces! This worked perfectly to secure a medium to large Purple Plum tree that had stared leaning. I suspect it was due to an uneven canopy (since trimmed up in the picture) in combination with some high winds and soft soil from rain. The tree is about 6 foot from my house, so needed something that would work in that small space. Had no idea this product existed until I received a quote (over $500) from a landscaping company. I looked in all the usual places and found this on Home Depot for the best price and the quickest shipping. Needed to fix the tree before it fell, so needed it quickly, placed my order online and it was delivered to the store the next day! Install notes: They recommend the $50 drive steel tool to install these, but I could not find one in time to install before the tree fell, so had to improvise. I ended up using steel rebar (also at Home Depot, picked it up at the same time), but no doubt the special tool would work just as well. To ensure the duckbill would not get stuck on rocks or buried stones (being so close to the house and driveway), I used a sledge hammer and pounded "pilot holes" with the rebar to the full 42" depth they recommend. This method worked well, didn't hit anything and the duckbills subsequently went in smoothly. In regards to pulling up on the cables to seat the anchors, I used my floor jack since these large duckbills would require a lot of pulling force. I ended up unscrewing the cable and attaching it to a length of 2x4 that would allow the jack to pull up on the anchor. Worked perfectly and set them very securely. I then used a friends truck to push the tree as straight as it would get without damaging it, tied each cable to the opposite side of each limb to avoid pulling the branches apart and tightened up the cables using two long screwdrivers. Tree seems happy, will leave these in for at least a year or two and keep checking the tension to ensure all is well. Great solution for tight areas, so glad I could save the tree for fairly low cost and not too much effort!

Tree Hugger
Worked great for 4 years; then cable rusted through (above Ground) because of sprinklers. I put 4' white PVC around cable at ground level to protect dogs when they're playing tag.

Great product --plan ahead!
I had a tree tilted in the front yard. Attached chain to my truck and pulled it straight, then used the duckbill anchors to keep it in place. Tips--measure how far away from the tree you need to sink the anchors so that you can pull the cable around the thicker branches and tighten it. The turnkey will help to tighten cable enough so that when you pull YOUR truck away, the tree doesn't move. Anchors were easy to sink--recommend long handle sledgehammer.
