I been working on the Rail Kit.....
I couldn’t have found this item at a better time. After 40 years my current homeowner’s insurance company decided I needed a railing on only one end of my front porch, This fit the bill exactly. I was able to assemble, cut, drill and install in less than 2 hours. Once installed I had a solid well-built railing that matched fairly well to what the rest of the porch had, and was approved by my homeowners insurance for safety and at an economical price….. I didn’t want to order 2 when I got this because I wanted to see how it would look and work out, I will be ordering another to match for the other end of the porch. • Ships in one box • Each piece is well wrapped and packed to prevent any scratches or damage • Well written clear & concise instructions with good illustrations • All materials are well painted and solid • You are able to customize size • 1. Lay out pieces • 2. Assemble railing • 3. Attach to structure • 4. Sit and relax

Great Looking Railing When Finished.
The railing may be tough for some beginner do-it-yourselfer's. It took me about 4 hours total to install this railing start to finish. All in all in happy with the outcome, though I'm not a big fan of working with metal. however this is far better than any vinyl step option as or wood for out door use. and the results turned out better than expected. This product arrived in an 8ft box with everything you need inside. When mounting the posts to concrete you will really want to use a hammer drill with a concrete bit. A high speed drill and masonry bit will get you nowhere fast. The instructions will suggest to mark the four holes with the base of the post and drill the holes. Be vary careful doing this. if the hole is off my less than a 1/16th of an inch you will have issues install all 4 bolts without stripping out the concrete. you cannot force the bolts or the concrete will strip out. To install the posts I marked the hole locations. Drilled the first hole and installed the bolt half way. I then lined up the holes and drilled the remaining 4 holes. To prevent damage or scratching to the posts I took an old sock and cut the end off and slipped it over the post. also be aware that concrete is not always even or flat. make sure to use a bubble level and shim as you go. it will save you a bunch of headache further along in the process. I used the flat washers to shim as the kit didn't come with anything else. I found the rise over run chart to not be accurate. I compared this to an actual angle finder that I have. According to the chart my angle should have been 30.5. however it was actually 38 degrees. I would highly suggest using an angle finder and discarding the table found in the manual. the manual suggests downloading free apps. I would suggest doing so. Also, since this it is aluminum you will need to clean and de-bur any cuts you make to the metal. It was mostly an issue with cutting the bolsters with a miter saw for the steps. I used a file to clean the edges and a small drill to clean the screw holes to help with installation.

For the very handy Handyman..
When I wanted to transition downwards (two steps), the install manual wasn't a lot of help. I had a 35 deg step, so I used a level on a stick between the rail (swivel) mounting brackets taped to the two posts. When the level said 35 degs and the stick was cut to fit into the bottoms of the swivel mounting brackets, then I knew how long to cut the down-rails.. PS: I ordered the taller posts, I was afraid that my bottom step post would be too short, so I planned to cut off the tops of any too-tall posts. But, I kinda like the Castle look.

The house we bought has an irregularly shaped deck which follows the property line at the far side, rather than parallel to the house. I used 4 six foot baluster kits and 3 eight foot baluster kits, plus posts and pivot mounts to make a safe deck that takes the proper shape. We are very pleased, plus Home Depot took back some parts that I didn't need. Pay attention to the directions, however. I ended up with too large of a gap between the last balusters and the posts. If I had trimmed the ends unevenly (changing to an even number of balusters rather than the original odd number) I would have fit in an additional baluster. I was able to rectify this problem after installing it, however.

This railing looks good and appears to be very sturdy. It takes a lot of screwing to put this together. And they give you plenty of screws to complete your project. Although you must order it, it only took a few days.

    NOT for do-it-yourselfers
The instructions left a LOT to be desired. I attempted to install the posts on concrete steps, following the instruction sheet, and after drilling the holes in the specified locations I discovered that the base covers wouldn't fit because the bolts were in the way. I called the manufacturer and was told there was a misprint. It wasn't a misprint but a poor design. The fix was to drill another hole in a completely different location at a completely different height. The instructions also tell you to ensure the post is level, when they mean "plumb", but in another section it tells you to make sure it's "plum" [sic]. To their credit the manufacturer did ask what they could do to make it right, but short of taking it all back and installing a new one differently, there was nothing they could do. I had to make onsite modifications. If I removed the post fasteners from the concrete it would have stripped the threads and I would have had to use anchors instead of the provided screws. The instructions also don't clearly show how to install the pivot mounts and measure for a diagonal railing. The only reason I gave a "fair" value is because the gauge of the aluminum is sturdy, although it's certainly a hefty price.

EZ Handrail 6 ft. x 36 in. Aluminum White
Where to begin, this is one of the better Hand rail systems I have installed on my property. I did 2 in the front of my home for walkways. This one I assembled along with additional kits for the Deck I have in the rear of my home. Assembly was a snap and once completed; installation on the deck was simple as 1-2-3. This is a one of the best rail systems I have used for the homes I own.

I am going to "RAIL" about this.
      1. This railing is appliance white painted aluminum 2. The pieces were wrapped/packaged like fine china, and that's a good thing. 3. Lay out pieces on a good drop cloth. 4. The instruction manual is 12" x 12", good pictures and diagrams. 5. Remember the post's add 3" to each end, keep this in mined when planning were your going to install the railing. Also plan ahead as far as how your going to mount the post's. 6. This railing will not rot, rust and is more rigid than PVC. 7.This railing and or a combination of railings has many varied uses. 8. I had to cut mine down which only required cutting about 6 or 7 inches off 3 of the horizontal pieces, you could cut a little off each end also. 9. Could not find anything to complain about, this is a real quality product.

      Easy to put together.
Started to put together by myself but went much faster with a helper. Pretty straight forward and easy to install but I did keep it simple using as more of a decorative patio border along the driveway side, (i.e. level.) Happy that concrete screws came with the post. Have not owned for long so can't speak to how long it will last looking good, but appears to be fairly durable and should last a few years for what I'm using it for. Can use your own posts if desired.

      Looks great!
We bought these railings to install around our front porch. We attached the railing to existing wood posts and the brick exterior of our house. It gives our porch the perfect, finished look!

      sturdy as she goes
These porch guardrail kits are a superior product. Need heavy duty aluminum that will stand up to years of hard use and kids? The balusters can handle a lot of kicking because of the heavy gauge metal and quality powder coated finish available in basic white, black or brown. The kit includes top/bottom rails, balusters and fastening screws. End posts and caps are an extra cost. Cost per foot seems high, but install with basic home carpenter tools isn't bad rated at about an intermediate skill level. You can sit on these rails which you likely can't do with wood railing. Consider with rickety wood that it will need repairs and painting every couple years. With this sturdy aluminum outfit from HD probably not!

      Great
I installed this in conjunction with the 8 ft. rail. Both seem to be very sturdy, attractive, and installation was simple. I expect them to provide years of support with a minimum of maintenance. The many material choices the included fasteners offer are a plus.

      Excellent railing system
I was looking for a maintenance free railing system for my 12x20 deck. That meant an aluminum railing. I wanted something that looked good, was durable and no maintenance. I found the EZ Rail system on HomeDepot website and it was just what I was looking for. The railings arrived very quickly to my house. The packaging was very good. Every piece was wrapped in foam sheeting to prevent any scratching. This is a quality system. All the aluminum pieces are heavy duty construction and very well made. The railings went together very easily and the finished product looks great. I have no doubt the railing will be looking good for a long time.

      Very solid Rail
This is my second time getting another of the Baluster Railing. In my first review I stated my frustration of trying to cut it to size and fit them by myself and having to acquire a friend to assist in the assembly as well as the fitting to my multi-story decking. However I found it was much easier the second time round and completed the work without needing assistance (practice makes perfect) Again as stated in my last review, the railing is very sturdy and well-made and really is in a class of its own. My first Baluster 8’ rail has been fitted on my multi-story decking for a couple of months now and despite the snow and the freezing rain, it still has retains that `brand new look` Supplied with the Baluster Railing are the four post mounts so be aware that if you have to cut the rail and use it as a two piece, you have to buy another four post mounts (2 top, 2 bottom) plus of course extra posts. Having said that, the unit, once completed and set, it is a perfect addition to the porch/decking. It looks nice and is very sturdy and well worth the effort. It is well made and is supplied with good solid accessories.

      Can get expensive
After cutting to fit, and purchasing the extra pieces needed to complete the job, this turned out to be a costly project. It looks very nice and seems to be of good quality, Hopefully this will last for years!

      high quality beautiful product
After reading reviews by others and comparing with several other types of handrails such as composite and vinyl, I decided to buy this product. For me, I feel pickets / balusters of composite or vinyl are too wide (1.5 inch). EZ Handrail's 1 inch picket is just right for the small size of our porch. Delivery was very quick. As a DIY beginner, it took me a while to install it. But once installed, it looks so beautiful and sturdy. Time well spent. By the way, I learnt from other's review about installing the post (pasted here for quicker reference). Thank you HomerDiyer! "Holes to anchor the posts to the deck bracket should not be drilled one above the other at 3/4" and 1 1/4". There is not enough room to use washers and the bolt heads nearly touch. The downloaded instructions describe the bolts as installed at 90 degree to each other. A more secure approach." One more thing, I called the manufacturer asking some installation questions. Dan was so friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Good product, easy to assemble- only problem: rail cap came dented and scratched. No time to mail return so had to repair and paint.
