Novice DIYer, wanted something sturdier than a measuring tape, so that I can make long accurate measurements, worked great for my needs.

I was surprised that you had he engineer's rule with "10 inches to the foot"!

The hash marks (ticks) are not perpindicular to the long edges of the stick. Looks like the stick may have been overheated before the paint set.

Sturdy and easy to read.

Needed a replacement for an old broken one. Like Lufkin for accuracy. Owned one of there 0-1" mics till my son got hold of it. He replaced it with a Craftsman but I liked the Lufkin better. The ones on the rack had a lot of small dents in the brass hinges. Was a bit concerned because if the hinges fail it most likely would cause accumulative errors. These may of been banged around in handling a bit. Picked the best one and I'm happy. I'm picky about tools, they're given the greatest respect in my box.

I have used this tool for several years an every time it's all I need it to be. For my field of work. Shooting elevations in 10ths as well as inches

This is the second one. The first one cracked apart while opening it,right at the folding place just in front of the metal folding part. The first one lasted less than six months. Thanks.
