I bought this dryer because I needed something shallow enough to go in my little laundry closet. It's a mere 25.5" deep (not counting the vent hose), meaning the closet doors still JUST close even though the closet's only about 30" deep. That's probably why most people are looking at this dryer. It has a light in the drum, which I didn't know I needed but now love. It works about a third faster than my old dryer, which is great. It's not too loud, although I had to turn off the "done" indicator because it could wake the dead even on the quiet setting. The capacity is really nice with the matching washer, and I was thrilled to get decent-capacity machines that weren't too deep for my closet. The only thing I don't like about it (and this is minor) is that it runs a cool-down cycle, so you don't get the "hot out of the dryer" feeling - although it seems like it keeps clothes from wrinkling, and if it matters to you, you can just restart the cycle for a few minutes. A quick tip on installation - this was put in a newly renovated house, and when I turned it on the first time, it tumbled but didn't heat. GE's instructions say to check the breaker if that happens. If you have not had a dryer plugged into the outlet before and the breaker isn't the issue, then you should consider having an electrician look at the wiring of the 240V outlet. That was the problem on mine.

Like the model having a strong performance - I have been using it for 8 years without problems. Only hope the noise level when it performs can be less; but it is not that bad.

Lint collection STINKS with this model. 16 months and it has been serviced twice. Now it is not working again.

Dries very quickly....quiet while operating....many different cycle choices....clothes don't wrinkle

I love the dryer. The only change I would make is to have the door open like an oven. The current design allows my clean cloths to fall on the floor when I open it.

I bought the dryer because it was the only one on the market that would fit in the location I needed to put it in. I was happy that GE offered this model because I've always purchased GE appliances and have always been satisfied. It works just fine and I have nothing but good things to say about the performance. Also, the price was very reasonable.

Clothes come out dry, rarely having to restart dryer as I had to do with my last one.

I bought this dryer because this model was smaller and would fit in my walk through laundry room without causing interference with the door. I have had GE dryers for many years and would buy again.

I purchased the dryer several months ago and am mainly happy with it. I find that setting the drying time dries the clothes faster than setting it on an automatic setting.

I bought this dryer to go with my new GE washer. I was real pleased to be able to get this 6cf capacity dryer, because of tight clearances in the installation area. I can honestly say that you will not find a better dryer than a GE dryer. This is my first time as a GE owner, and I wish my family had always purchased GE! This dryer is extremely quiet, efficient, fast and very flexible in its drying options. Every item comes out perfectly dried with no wrinkling or tangling, even when drying a large load of "mixed" fabrics. I cannot say enough good things about this dryer, or GE themselves. Trust me, you cannot do better than this dryer!

I gave it 5 stars because I can't think of anything I'd change. I like that it fits in the space I have (it doesn't have the extended back as most do), the drum size is good, I like the options, it dries the clothes as it should.

I owned a GE for 15 years and it finally went. I purchased this drier because of issues with size limitations and it had a decent review on line. The lint catcher could be made better since when I open the drier door huge clumps come out and are also inside the door. Other than that, it's just a drier nothing special. Has the standard heat settings I expect.

Whisper quiet, 6 months old and so far a great product

I wanted a simple, easy to use, medium size electric dryer, with a filter in the front of the machine, with no fancy programming. My previous appliances with these features have lasted nearly 20 years and I hope that this one does too!

The GE Dryer seems to work properly the only problem we have is a steady Hum type noise it makes. I think we may go tone death.

This dryer was installed today and did three loads of wash. It did not disappoint. You are able to set your preferences easily

I've had this for 11 months and it dries very, very small loads only. A normal load takes 2-3 hours. This week the knob to turn the cycle on broke, now the dryer does not start. I only kept it because I have a laundry closet and the depth works. Piece of garbage

GREAT PRODUCT- I ENJOY DOING LAUNDRY NOW! THIS IS A SIMPLE DRYER BUT WORKS WELL AND SPACIOUS.

It's behind closed doors, and even with the doors closed it's so loud I cannot run it while I'm in the house ... and I would NEVER run a dryer while not at home ... so I'm stuck dealing with the noise. Have had GE Appliances for over 40 years, never had this problem before, ever! Very disappointed!

I bought this dryer because it fit in my condo laundry closet. I needed a flat back machine. It is quiet, dries quickly and is roomy. I hope that it will prove to be reliable.

We were somewhat tight on space and this dryer really fit the bill. It had the features we wanted and it does a great job.

I'm impressed with its drying service. When it indicates the clothes are dry, the clothes are dry.

If you are looking for a basic dryer that works well, you might want to consider this one. It's very quiet, dries clothes well and we are very happy with it. Long term durability isn't known at this point, but we will see how this one holds up over the long haul.

This dryer has all of the features I was looking for, and it fits well into my closet type washer and dryer space. Installation was quick and easy, and the dryer is working very well.

As a basic dryer it is good! I like the lint filter - I don't have to worry about cleaning out the dryer because the filter is so fine it catches all the lint unlike the last dryer I had!
