Just What I Needed
This is a sturdy, flannel-backed cloth which was the perfect size to protect the top of my outside table on our screened porch for the winter. It looks like cloth and I can think of several uses for this in the future.

great lightweight drop cloth
I'm very impressed with this drop cloth. It's lightweight canvas that has a thin layer of plastic of some sort on the underside to make it waterproof. The canvas will absorb spills and the underlayment will keep them from seeping through. The undercoating also provides some tack, so the cloth is not as slippery on hard surfaces as a plain canvas cloth would be. This drop works as well as any of the heavier canvas cloths I've worked with before. My only concern is how long the coating will last. Ideally you will get years of use out of this, but at this stage I can't tell.

Works great for me
I'm using this to cover an antique side table that I need to use for crafts. I had used the tear-away paper drop cloths in the past but wanted something that looked better in my sewing/craft area. I liked it so well that I decided to embroider my logo on it and it even embroidered wonderfully - so good I'll probably buy these to cut up for some of my projects. I put an old sheet under the cloth to be sure that the plastic on the back would not stick to the wood with any moisture. Now I can paint and glue inside and not worry about harming the table and when cleaned up looks great in the room.

Perfect dropcloth to protect carpet in my art studio. Stays put, keeps my watercolors, charcoal and pastels away from the carpet.

    Not worth my time
Cloth drop with a clear plastic bottom. Piece of crap to a busy contractor. It goes in front of the door and a 20'' flap of it goes into the doorway. Never seen a 20'' doorway so, useless from the start. Bought this to write it off . I'll use it, but it's a joke. I guess it says Butyl II , I hope the rest of my order are not like these ones, they'll be going back if they are . I wanted a rubber backed drop, not this. I'll also add that I'm really tired of the incompetence of what we get for our dollar , product-wise and customer service.

they do not meet my expectations. they are slippery on tile or hard wood. they may be leak resistant but not slip resistant. they use to sell some other drops that had a PVC lined bottom that we slip and spill resistant.

      Response from TrimacoJun 10, 2019
Hello Rob! Thank you for your feedback regarding Trimaco's Butyl II Drop Cloth. We are sorry to hear that the drop cloth was not slip resistant for you particular project. Perhaps a heavier drop cloth, such as the Trimaco Eliminator would be better suited for your situation. If you have any other concerns, or if we can improve your experience in any way- please do not hesitate to reach out directly. Trimaco

So far it has kept black craft paint, used by my little mad artist grand kid, from seeping through to the carpet. Product does what is supposed to do and I'm pleased.

Has the plastic backing but the cloth material seems very thin. Unsure how spills will soak, I will guess being thin material, spread out over larger area but as long as doesn’t soak through, guess it doesn’t matter?

Used this as a cover over my pergola on my deck. I first put this over the top then put the cover that came with the pergola over it. The cover that came with it wasn't waterproof so tried this. After about a week it started to leak when it rained. I have a can of flex seal that I'm going to spray on top hoping it will stop the water. I won't purchase another for this purpose next season as I'll try something else.

Practical dropcloth for painting. Has not been challenged yet with spill large enough to test whether leakproof or not. Is not as heavy of canvas as I was expecting, but with coating will hopefully not need more thickness.

      Poor quality
The canvas was not woven very tightly and the plastic backing was about the same as plastic wrap that cones on a roll. I was very disappointed and returned the tarp without even leaving the store.

        Good quality dropcloth
I'm a lazy painter. I don't like to tape off trim and I used to start painting projects with a piece of newspaper under the paint can and nothing else. After a few nasty spills, I now believe in the value of prepping a room for paint. I've used the plastic sheet dropcloths in the past and while they're generally better than nothing, they leave a lot to be desired. (Super thin, require you to use painters tape to secure to ground, easily tear etc). They don't hold a candle to this canvas one. This is a nice canvas drop cloth that's a good weight (not flimsy. You won't be tearing this by walking on it like the plastic ones). The coating on the back offers piece of mind for spills (whether paint, water or otherwise). - The fact that it's washable is an added bonus. I used it to protect some furniture I had stored in the garage from sawdust from another project. It was nice to be able to throw it in the wash to get rid of the fine film of dust. I'll definitely be buying more of these in other sizes (as a previous reviewer recommended). They're handy to have around.

        Many uses many times over
Since I tend to move pieces around a room to paint (instead of moving the furniture out of the room - I'm single), this size cloth is just right. It doesn't take over the room as I move around the room on it. It's a very manageable size for this 5' 4" person compared to the humongous ones my father had from his professional painting days. The two different sides are perfect. It doesn't slide (think plastic) and nothing seeps through it (think paper). And the bonus (esp. compared to my father's) is that it is washable. Drying will be a cinch outside or in my basement. And I see more uses too - container planting, dogs in my car, a back-up boot tray in the winter, to line my car trunk when bringing home springtime potted plants, and something for my wet dogs from the tub, snow, or rain to stand on while I dry them. A very nice size indeed for lots of reasons. Definitely worth it!

Top quality and a good size
I have painted for many years both semi professionally and for personal needs. I used to use old sheets as drop clothes, but have recently learned the value of buying good quality drop clothes. I have also learned the value of having different sizes. Besides having some room sized clothes, it is good to have a runner sized cloth and a smaller square cloth like this one for some smaller jobs and touch ups The quality of this particular cloth exceeded my expectations.

        Great drop cloth
This canvas drop cloth is very well made. It has a plastic backing which alleviates paint or liquids from seeping through. High quality canvas for the price.

Sturdy but supple reusable drop cloth
I'm very pleased with this canvas drop cloth. It sure beats the flimsy plastic drop cloths around. The canvas makes the surface slip-resistant. It's washable for continued value-adding. The leak-proof side appears to be a relatively thin coating so time will tell how well it holds up to multiple washings.

        Best Dropcloth!
This is the best drop cloth I have ever used. I am always spot painting or changing the colors of my walls and have always used plastic or paper to guard for spills - the plastic slid on the wood floors and the paper leaked through. But, this drop cloth is perfect. The leakproof coating on the bottom prevents it from slipping and it stays put. The canvas top is good quality. And the best part of it is that is is reusable and is the last dropcloth you will need!

Great protection at a low cost
This dropcloth is a great size for home projects, not to large or heavy for a woman or teenager to handle. However, a man would find many uses for this dropcloth. The 5x5 foot size is great for small repair projects and touch up jobs in the house. I even used it under the kids while they did crafts for the holidays. Easy to gather up and take outside to shake off the glitter. The canvas is absorbent for any spills and it is backed with strong leakproof coating. I put the dropcloth in the back of my SUV to keep my carpet clean and dry while transporting the sleds back from a sledding trip. Another nice thing about this dropcloth is that it is washable and reuseable, which saves money. It lays flat on the floor and stays put. It is also safer to walk on because the canvas is not slippery like a thin plastic dropcloth. I feel sure that I will get alot of use out of my ButlyII Quickdrop.
