Sorry I could not answer earlier. My son just installed this new antenna on my roof this morning and now I am getting all the VHF channels I was missing before and also all the UHF channels that I have always been getting.

Antenna was straight forward to assemble and install, went from 9 channels with my old antenna to 17 with this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started with the Clearstream 2V. Most towers are about 30 miles away. All the UHF channels were clear. Channel 9 (VHF hi band) was marginal. Signal quality varied from just acceptable to unwatchable. Three reasons account for this 1) location is on south side of a hill just below the peak (see photo). 2) Lots of trees. 3) The gain of the dipole on the Clearstream 2V is only rated at 3.1Dbi. The clearstream 5 has a 7..6 Dbi rating. In addition the use of a separate VHF and UHF antenna permitted each to be independently positioned as shown in photo 2. A UHF/VHF antenna combiner was used to combine the signals. Signal quality for channel 9 (VHF hi) went from 40 % to 65 - 70 %. Problem solved. Other UHF channels, although good, improved (as measure by signal quality meter on tuner). This is due to the ability to independently align each antenna.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in the super boonies between Chicago and Milwaukee. 45 miles to the towers. Channel 2 (CBS) has ALWAYS been a problem to get. No more. Combined with a CV4, I get everything rock solid even in crummy weather. I use a CV4 with Dipole on the Milwaukee side. Diplexer in the house to combine the two stacks into one lead.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only needed the antenna to get FOX TV. Signal comes in strong and I live about 31.5 miles away from the transmitter.

Seems to work. Combined with db8e in attic. Still have things to figure out. Possible Interference and long run.

Perfect!! Replaced an older Antennas Direct antenna with this one. Easy replacement since I already had the roof mount in place. Aimed the CS5 toward Atlanta, secured the setting, scanned the channels and done! Works Great!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this antenna for specifically tuning in a difficult hi-vhf signal in the Chicagoland area. Antenna was installed in the attic 32 miles from the tower. Reception is outstanding and i would highly recommend this antenna.

Low VHF performance is no better than competitors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially I was using a ClearStream 2Max antenna, but it had to be rotated to receive quality signals from the two stations in DC broadcasting on VHF. The ClearStream 5 allows me to have the two antennas pointed in different directions to receive better receptions from stations broadcasting in both bands. I bought the ClearStream 5 to improve reception of the two VHF stations in DC (11 miles away) and to potentially receive the two in Baltimore (41 miles away). It sigficantly improved the reception of WUSA and WJLA in DC and it receives a decent signal (60-70%) from WBAL. WJZ's signal strength is around 60%, but it is not decodable so there may be interference or multipath issue to resolve. The ClearStream 5 was a big improvement to watch VHF stations and eliminated the hassle of rotating an antenna. It's compact enough to fit on one of the shelves in my foyer closet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Due to the rising costs of cable, my son and I recently installed a ClearStream 5 antenna with a VHF/UHF combiner in our attic. The installation was quite easy and the reception we have is great. I would recommend ClearStream products if your thinking of going to an antenna.

I'm only 45 miles or so from broadcast towers and no foliage as yet and can only pickup 1 of my local network channels. I can pick up stations I'm not real interested in, like cooking and gardening. The unit is higher then the peak of my roof and is attached to amplifier. I can only bring in 1 VHF station.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am over 40 miles east of all of the VHF transmitters and this antenna picks them up well. It also picks up some UHF channels. But I cannot rely upon the Clearstream 5 to pick them all up because for some reason one moment the uhf transmitter east of me, becomes pixelated and some time loses it's signal., Therefore I've linked a clear stream XG91 to a combiner to pick up the remaining channels that due east of me. I've tried several Antennas that have VHF capabilities , including the CS 4Max with UHF/VHF. DB8, CS2, and other companies but this is the only antenna that satisfies my VHF tv Watching.

I purchased the Clearstream 5 VHF antenna along with a DB8e UHF antenna and a combiner a on the recommendation of Antennas Direct. They did a great job of assessing the details of my situation (attic setup with no option to go outdoors). I also have a Channel-Master 3414 4-port amplifier. This system replaces my old Clearstream 2 antenna (with the same amplifier) which while being good, could not consistently provide a strong enough signal. The new setup has been in place for about a month now, with excellent results. The family no longer threatens to go back to cable. I highly recommend the antennas, and the combiner. Very easy to set up and they work as advertised. I'm only about 20-25 miles from the key antennas in my area and they are close to each other in terms of direction from my house. However, the roofing materials and trees made it necessary to get the high gain antennas. Very happy with the performance.

Antenna Direct Technical Support provided the best location to install and position the antenna. Also, they provided a list of stations within a 70 mile radius which we receive with good reception. I installed new cable to eliminate any possible static along with an amplifier "The Juice" with this antenna. ClearStream 5 UHF/VHF out performs two antennas we purchased previously and returned due to poor reception.

Easy to install worked well, got many more stations but not the ones we wanted, not a fault of antenna just our location, trees, hills, building and weather issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave this antenna 4 Stars only because 4 more little clips on the back of the antenna where it attaches to the Screen (2 each along the vertical axis) would have made this a well constructed antenna suitable for outside mounting. However the antenna covers VHF and gets me channels 8 and 11 from inside my attic coupled with a Low Pass Filter. I would like to see what it does outside but I am leary.

I was able to get the good reception with antenna installed in attic, I previously used a cheap antenna but one VHF station may be 30 miles away was the issue, but not any more with this antenna. Good sturdy build.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this in my attic, I'll estimate 22' above the foundation. Distance to tower estimate is about 40 miles. Our roof has the foil-lined radiation reflective wood and we still got all the channels that indicated strong strength (green) on the web. Also used a signal amplifier. One thing: aiming in the precise direction of the tower made the difference for one VHF channel. We had to reposition and rescan a couple of times to get that last channel. But it's been 100% reception since then. In my area, the price of the antenna is less than two months of cable. No regrets.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The C5 is a Strong and Sturdy Antenna and will Provide Reliable Reception and Last a Long Time Outside. The C5 Is Designed for Reception of the VHF High Band Tv Channels 7 thru 13 when the Signal Strengths are Weak and Strong. Out of Band Reception. The C5 will also do a Good Job of Receiving the UHF Tv Band Channels of 14 thru 51 when the Signal Strengths are Strong. And the C5 will also Receive the VHF Low Band Tv Channels 2 thru 6 when the Signal Strengths are Strong.

I live only about 12 miles from the transmitting antenna for channel 7, but the antenna must be in my attic, which is lined with metal as a "radiant barrier", plus I have a TiVo Premiere, which has a notoriously bad tuner and has trouble picking up relatively strong signals. Rabbit ears produced a lot of dropouts of the digital signal, but with this antenna there are no dropouts at all and the signal meter on the TiVo is in the green all the time.
