This fireplace really is gorgeous, we ordered it at the beginning of our yard project and planned the colors around it. The kit came with a small bottle of color to touch up any scuffs and that was perfect to take along to the paver store and such. The kit sat in our driveway through a rainy oregon winter, the box around it started to fall apart, but the fireplace peices still looked brand new when we placed them on the base we built. This is a smaller fireplace, but it is perfect for our smaller yard we wanted an outdoor fireplace without it taking up tons of space. We built a base with cinderblocks dry stacked and filled with gravel, then we covered the base with our pavers mortared into place. We ended up with a base about 18 inches tall and 5 feet wide and 4 feet deep, we wanted room to sit around the base and this size gives us space on either side of the fire box to stack wood and room to sit on the base in front. I did a lot of internet hunting for small to mid sized outdoor fireplace kits like this, and I found that this was the best option, the product was readily available, and I didn't find it anywhere at a better price. It took us 4 full sized guys to get it assembled and onto our base, but we could have done it with three, and it went very fast, less than 15 minutes from unboxing it to having it completely assembled, was very very easy. We were exceedingly impressed with the customer service experience we had with our purchase of this product. We ordered the fireplace online and so we dealt with the Pacific Living people entirely. My partner actually got a personal phone call from the CEO of the Pacific Living shortly after our order. He explained the freight deliver process and was very personable. It was very impressive to deal with a company that was so focused on pleasing its customers that the CEO himself would take the time to call us. The kit itself arrived in perfect condition, it was encased in a wooden pallet like structure to keep it secure, on the outside was a card with a warning jostle-meter type of thing, basically if the little vile on the card was red, it meant that our kit had been jostled during shipping. The vile was still white, but I wondered, so I detached the card and tossed it to the ground, not even with a lot of force, the card landed in the grass and turned red in seconds. All in all we were extremely impressed with this product and this company.

We looked at many options for an outdoor fireplace, and this one is great. We were putting in a new patio and had a base built for it. It is nice to have it raised a bit. It is small, but we have found that a small fire starter and pinion wood mini-logs work great, even on a windy night. Delivery was cost-efficient and fast and the driver even pulled it up our steep driveway to our garage.

I bought this fire place two years ago it is very small and not able to put more then 2 logs in at the same time so the fires are not what we were used . The fireplace developed cracks in the front after 9 months the manufacture would help not help with this problem .

After comparing numerous other opetions including pricey custom builds this unit met our needs. Solidly built and easy to assemble. Only issue was low to ground and I built up with bricks.
