This product is the best. I hang it in various places in my house and it draws the dampness from the air. It works good in the closet. I have recommended this to several of my family members who was surprised at the condensation that was in the bag. I hate when I go to buy it and it is sold out. I usually buy about 4 boxes at a time.

Firstly, this thing stinks! "Fresh Scent"? Not even close, bud. It's disgusting. However, its biggest failure is in its design. Hung this up in my car and less than two weeks later, the bag broke, spilling the DampRid chemicals all over my car and groceries -- disgusting! I contacted DampRid immediately and they never responded. Stellar customer service.

These are great for removing excess moisture from any damp location like a basement, closet, attic or even a box trailer storing things on your property. I would recommend adding these every couple of months more or less. It helps keep things smelling nice and removes some of the humidity, so thing's like cardboard boxes and stuff are less likely to mold on you.

We recently had mold issues in our home and in have placed these in all our closets. They really work well and provide a nice scent. I highly recommend them to anyone! If you have packed closets (they do need to hang freely with some space) the containers work great too. I attached a photo (sorry it's not the best but hopefully you can see the water it's drawn out of the air)

A portion of our basement is unfinished and since, we don’t have a de-humidifier on our furnace, parts of the basement walls would get mildew and we would get that mildew smell in the basement. We have a bathroom shower right, next to the laundry room, which produces a lot of moisture. I came across this product at Home Depot and decided to try it. I have been using DampRID the 42 oz. Fresh Scent Hanging Moisture Absorber (3-Pack) for over 2 years now, it’s wonderful! No more mildew smell or on the walls. It’s so EASY to open, just hang and let it do its job. I hang one pouch over the laundry dryer. There’s been a few times I even put one in the garage to help during the rainy season to help with the mildew smell and moisture. Once the pouch is full with liquid, I toss it out and hang another one! I always make sure I have a box on hand and highly recommended this product to others.

Anyone and everyone living in a damp area of any city or county has to have this item hanging in their closet. Last summer, during our warm rainy spell and in the following summer, I lost thousands of dollars worth of clothes, shoes and leather handbags. I learned my lesson that merely opening a window will not work. Keep the area under your beds dry by also using their portable/refillable container. Don't let this happen to your favorite shoes and clothes! Take my advise, if you own items in your house, that happen to be housed on the northeast or shadowed portion of your home, GO GET THIS NOW! (if you haven't already) I am allergic to mold and this works!

Folks this is something that really works. I have 2 in the walkin closet and one by the bedroom window. They are all filling up already. It's not good to have all this moisture in your closets. It can cause mold and smell bad as well.

Definite strong scent + complete water/moisture remover!
Completely amazing! We put this in our master closet, and just after 1 week we can already see the bag filling with the moisture it is catching. The 'fresh scent' is on the strong side when we walk into the closet, but our clothes don't 'reek' of the smell - so men, dont worry about smelling like fresh flowers. Clothes feel great to the touch, and living in Florida, having dry air (and clothes) is a definite want with all of our humidity here.

      Keep your closet dry.
Our home is in Savannah, GA not far from the marsh and next to a lagoon. Especially in the summer months things get as we say down here a little "close". Even with a controlled environment the stuff in the closets gets moldy unless you use DampRid. We've been using the canister type for years but this new packaged variety is much easier, more convenient and more easily disposable. The canister type has a tendency to be a little juicy when you're trying to move or dispose of it but these new packs hang up nicely and just get tossed into the trash when they're done. Good stuff and easy to use. It keeps the mold off my drums and clothes.

I tried one for me and in a week I recommended this wonderful absorber to my neighbor
That was'n easy to find the right moisture absorber on Internet - too many of everything. But when I came to Home Depot, I asked for assistance and got help at once! You'll find these absorbers in the department of paints. Thank you Home Depot!

      Makes a Real Difference
I ordered these moisture absorbing hanging bags to put in our laundry room and two closets. Each location borders the garage or an outer wall and none have an HVAC vent to help circulate air. Because of this, these locations tend to be warmer and more humid than the rest of the house in the summer. I felt that I immediately noticed a difference the day after hanging these in each of the three locations, but not seeing any liquid collected I convinced myself that it was only a placebo effect. However after a month of use the bottom of each bag was indeed full of moisture removed from the air, and clearly the difference I noticed was indeed real. Disposal and replacement is somewhat inconvenient, but much cheaper than adding ductwork and more convenient than a permanent solution. These are definitely a quick and easy temporary solution for humid locations

      Works well as advertised
We placed one bag in the water pump and water softener room under the basement stairway, and one unit in the basement room where the furnace and water are located. I'm no chemist, but within days, the dry material in the upper part of the bag began pulling moisture out of the air and the bottom part of the bag had water in it. The rest of the basement living area has a de-humidifier set at 40 and the basement is not damp at all. This really works.

      Very Effective Dehumidifying Action
I hung the moisture absorbing pack in our clothes closet about 10 days ago. I live about 200 yards from the ocean, and the house environment is very humid. I enjoy the fresh air in our home, and therefore don't like to leave my house closed and conditioned, unless the temperature is very hot (80's). However, I try to minimize the dampness in my clothes closets by keeping the closet doors closed. I find it difficult to judge the moisture content in the air unless it is overly hot and oppressive, But today, I observed about 6 oz of water in the collection bag of the pack which suggests to me that this pack is doing it's job. It feels comfortable in the closet area and the clothes are clean and dry. In the past, I had also used this absorbing pack in my car, after I had inadvertently left the car door window open during a rain storm. In that case, it took about 2 weeks, but the dampness on the seats and carpet were substantially reduced using this product, and the reservoir in the pack was completely filled with water. However, the pack did not remove the musty smell that had accumulated -- it was necessary to air out the car (in the garage) and use other products designed to eliminate smell. This is a good product intended for small enclosed areas.

Hanging design is better than their refillable containers. Fresh smell that's not overwhelming!
Unlike many products I experienced for the first time from Home Depot, this was an old product I was very familiar with. I recently purchased the Refill Pouch to use in my DIY container. The hanging design works in a household of pets. The smell is fresh and doesn't overwhelm the senses or bring on sneezes. It has a MFG date stamped on it. A poorly designed closet with no vent next to a shower, in humid Florida yet, is never used to hang my clothes because of moisture. This is attractive and absorbs quickly. As a DIYER, my first instinct was to create a way to refill the pouch. Otherwise, highly recommended.

      Old Albums Stored
Until I had success with the DampRID solution, I thought I would have to contain or part with my 'moldy oldies'. I have an extensive album collection that goes back to MAE WEST but must carve out space to do the sort and rehab chore. In the meantime, the hanging DampRID unit attracts the moisture from around the albums, reducing the microbial population while entirely eliminating the smell. Voila! I can enjoy the album cover art and the sounds until ready to take on the task.

      This Stuff WORKS!
WOW-- After trying to dry out some damp interiors of cars with a musty smell. I gave this a try. I does the job! I put it inside cars I export to help keep them dry while inside a container ship across the ocean. My customers on the other side tell me it is working!
