Easy to install

Product is adequate. Delivery is a short (3-7 day) wait. Delay waiting for replacement of wrong screw size was another week delay.

The window bars are fine. I would suggest you get both the 3” extension and the flat attachments so you can see what you like the best. Importantly, the screws require a separate one-way installer which is sold separately. This is a required extra. This should be known.

These window guards were easy to install. They look great and should perform what they were bought for with no problems. The finish on them is pretty heavy duty and I think they will take the elements with no harmful effects.

They were easy to put up and they look good to me. I feel safe to leave a fan in the window during the hot days.

I know it seems odd that with these ratings I'd recommend them. If all you are looking for is a visual deterrent these will work just fine If the 13 year old or two jump up and hang on them they may or may not get in but they will probably make a mess of them visually.

The brackets in many cases don't fit into the horizontal bars of the security bars and need to be ground down. The special one-way drill bit is made of soft metal and gets worn down after just a few uses. The screws are also of poor quality and get worn. We had to modify the drill bit and the screws to be able to do these installations. If you are willing to do this extra work, these are much cheaper than custom bars, but custom burglar bars are also sturdier - made with larger bars.

These look fine and were easy enough to install. For my application, I cut one of the guards to allow it to fit within my window frame and rewelded the removed vertical bar so that the bar spacing in the middle looked symmetrical. If you can weld, welding the mounting hardware to the guards and the two guards (if you use two) together will make your final product far less wobbly than if you install them as designed. Pros: Easy to find Easy to install (as designed - see below) Reasonable price for security bars Look nice Likely deter most criminals Black ones were easy to repaint. Cons: Thin metal tubing won't stop someone who really wants to bypass these If you place two of these side by side without welding, they will feel loose, and may come apart when enough force is applied - depending on your setup. The top and bottom arrow tips had razor sharp burs which need to be sanded down if you use these bars inside. Installation requires hardware not included. If you use two window guards side by side, I would recommend running a full length solid metal square rod in each of the two horizontal bars to hold the two guards together. This would make it much harder to cut and prevent you from pushing/pulling them apart. They will also feel much sturdier.

Has a plesent appearance, but the welds are easily broken when pressure is applied. Several bars were bent upon delivery.

Installed security door, and several of the window guards on my basement windows. The attractive/decorative design actually dressed up the house, and did not appear to be security features. I like the decorative look! I chose to installed on exterior of windows, (can be used either side) so I can still open windows inside. Gives added security at a great price for high quality guards.
