If you like a Clear Fan bulb with the fliment showing don’t pass this bulb. Philips has made a unusual bulb that is unique to look at for a ceiling fan, no one would know it is LED. The color is the same as 40 watt incandescent or halogen bulb and the 330 lumens makes it seem brighter. The A15 Shape fits perfectly into the tulip shades.

I bought these LED bulbs to go in three pendant lights I have over my bar counter. I was a little hesitant because I wasn't sure how strong the "sparkle" effect would be. There is a sparkle effect but it is subtle. I wouldn't however use them anywhere I need light to read by. My pendants lights are small so these smallish bulbs worked perfectly. I buy a few LED bulbs every month since they are pricey. As for these three bulbs, I now get the same light output from13.5 watts which was 120 watts with the three 40 watt incandescent bulbs they replaced. I prefer Philips LEDs, especially in places the actual bulb is visible because Philips LEDs just look nicer than other brands. The warranty and specs are just as good too. I highly recommend.

Did not preform as described poor performance burnt out early

THe lights were exactly what we expected. It's the lighting unit we put them into that keeps them dim.

First, this bulb is compact enough to fit into our pendant lights over our island without showing. Second, this bulb dims more like a traditional bulb. I have this bulb and 2 others of another brand, and when the dimmer is too low, this bulb works but the others just shut off. My wife does not like the other bulbs - too bright, too white. I'm going to pick up 2 more of these.

These bulbs were purchased for can small can lights in a bedroom closet that had a thermal shutoff within the unit. Due to how close the can light units were to the roof line they would go off constantly and turn back on once they cooled. Since moving to these cooler LED light bulbs the lights stay on all the time and give as much light as the 40w standard bulbs that were in the unit. When you look up you also do not notice that they are an LED bulb.

I own a ceiling fan that is in my living room and when one of the bulbs went out, I searched for bulbs that I could replace them with. I came across these A15 bulbs that were the LED version of the bulbs I owned. Upon receiving these bulbs from an online order through Home Depot, I noticed the box says the bulbs have a 'sparkle effect.' I'm not sure what that means but that wasn't advertised on the website. Now the bulbs are installed in the ceiling fan and when I turn it on, the bulbs flicker. My ceiling fan is dimmable and when I have the light reduced to the lowest dimmable setting, the lights flicker badly. How annoying! Not to mention, the bulbs do not dim very much at all. As soon as I can get a ladder to get these bulbs down, I'm returning them!

These are great looking LED lights. They look better than the incandescent light they replaced. They are a little larger at the base so it may be a problem with some sockets.

like the brightness and shape of this bulb. we don't have a dimmer on this fixture so I can't comment on that. ordered online shipping was fast and free with min. $ requirement. Much happier with these over the CFL's we used to use.

Bought two today. They look good and dim well, without making any noise. I'll probably buy more. For comparison: It gives a slightly warmer/redder light (a good thing) and more expensive then the similarly sized Ecosmart. It's not as good at showing /reds, but is quieter and cheaper, than the larger Cree TW series.
