Needed extra heat in a chilly alcove during the extra cold winter months we've begun experiencing. Looked at oil-filled radiators, which are very efficient, but wanted something with a low profile that could be wall-mounted not far from an outlet (comes with 6 ft of cord). At 400 WATTS it is the equivalent of four 100W incandescent light bulbs, but produces far more heat. (Read the safety instructions such as should not be under furniture, near drapes, etc., but is safe for pets and children.) It was easy and fairly quick to mount (only needed to cut down one of the four plastic insulated spacer mounts because our older plaster wall was not perfectly even). We did experience the "new" chemical smell, but with continuous use the smell was gone within 48 hours. Added bonus is that you can paint this to match the wall. Simple and aesthetically pleasing, it does not draw attention to itself. This is by far the best we could find until something better comes along. And the price (before the electric bill) is superb compared to more expensive oil-filled wall mounted radiators that take up more space. Very pleased with this simple and inexpensive solution to our short-term needs.

Econo-Heat 400 Watt Convection Flat Panel Space Heater with Programmable Thermostat This unit will "Convection" heat your room. You have to leave it on in order for the air to circulate in the room! Immediate heat is not and has never been the intended purpose for this product! I live in Upper Michigan where winters are very cold. These heaters work great! You need to follow the instructions in order for proper operation. Garage applications will not work well. An interior room of a home will work perfect. "TIP" Mount heater to interior wall, not a wall where outside temperatures are on the other side! This unit WILL draw cold air from the floor and heat it causing a natural rotation of air in the room! You will not be disappointed! They do work! especially if you have a "cold" room and are looking to supplement your existing heat source! Keep Warm! Summer will be back soon!

We bought this heater as a supplement heater for our bedroom. We prefer to turn the furnace down at night and just heat the bedroom. This heater is a nice alternative to a space heater sitting in the middle of the floor. We like how it attaches to the wall so it is out of the way. Plus being able to paint it so it is not very noticeable. It doesn't put out a ton of heat though so if a person wants it for the only heat source I am not sure it would be enough.

This item was lightweight and seemed like the perfect solution for a basement bedroom. However, after the first winter of usage...the heater face panel began to crack and then spit all the way through. HUGE disappointment!!! And of course the warranty was out when. I do not recommend this product. I found a slightly more expensive induction heater that I'm hoping this one will work out better.

2 years later it has cracked in half! It was mounted on the wall and never bumped or touched other than to turn it on. But amazingly it literally cracked in half. Will the company replace it for me??? I loved it til I saw it hanging there in two pieces.

We bought two for our basement suite and they work exactly how we thought they would. Glad we went with them!

on my third panel. They've all split and cracked with 12 months, so that's at most 4 months of usage cause it's sitting there in the spring, summer and fall unused. Terrible and unreliable product. Avoid!

This is a great product - easy to install and the best part is customer service - I give customer service a 12 out to 5 . Had an issue, contacted them by email and they resolved my issue as easy as 1-2-3 . I'm planning on using Econo-Heat in other rooms in unheated areas of the basement.

In point form: * Easy to install * The heater does get hot to the touch so if it's put in area someone bumps into, they may get burnt * It does take 1-2 hrs in 5-10C weather for the room to get nice and warm * In -1 to 4C weather, it took 3-5hrs for the room to warm up. Thankfully in my city it doesn't get colder than that. * It is quiet and energy efficient; love it!

Easy to install, and fit well in rooms. Have worked well in early fall when its still to warm to have the woodstove on. Not sure how effective they will be in winter at -40 will have to update later. They do get quite hot to the touch but you would have to keep your hand there for awhile to sustain a burn. Fast home delivery to the boonies too!

This has been the third heater that I have ordered and it's cracked also!

It works. the problem is there is crack in the middle. i do not know if the crack will affect the operation.

Made my basement very comfortable, you done even know they are there.

This product has been in use for more than 10 years and keeps our eating area comfortably warm during the winter months. Used very little power and is easy to install.

While this particular one did arrived damaged, we have purchased 4 others before over 5 years time and love them! They are so safe even a child or pet can touch them and not get harmed. The flow of heat is spread evenly and the cost is low compared to other types of heating. No high electric costs, no fumes, no dry air and no smoke. We have 4 of the 400 Watt size. Just purchased another at 600 Watts. Not sure I like it as it is very heavy. Plus we have a lot of experience with the Econo-Heater 400 Watts and it's all good.

No, It did not meet expectations. It arrived cracked in half so returned it and went with a different type of heater. Had the wall panel convection heater before. Bought the first one four years ago, worked fine but went kaput a few weeks ago

Easy to install but 20 min after I turned it on the panel cracked at the bottom.

May work in a small closed room. Maybe a small fan would help.

It needs temperature controls.

Like said it has a Crack after 2weeks of use. Seems to work well but seems like an issue that needs to be fixed

I have a 2 year old this is for her room it heats up great but does not burn you to the touch.

Had two, both have cracked. Piece of junk. Don't waste your time or money.

Does a great job I just hope it lasts longer than others I have had !
