I live in Ellis county Tx and I really needed one and when I was finally able to purchase one, I saw this at Home Depot, marked down from $80 to $50 and I was super happy because I thought it was a great buy. Sadly, I rarely heard it zap anything . I never took it back because I threw away the box and the lights immediately come on. Worst mistake ever. It just does not work. No zapping noises. No bugs around it. I had such high hopes. Bad bad buy for me. In pic, it looks blue but it is a pretty neon purple.

Efficiently dispatches yellow jackets and mosquitoes. The power of this execution device is so strong that all of the yellow jacket remaining is the thorax. Attached is the results of my first batch of yellow jacket body bits (– the mosquitoes are vaporized). Whah ha ha!

Surprised how well this thing works. The pile of death was in a 24 hour period.

I've owned several bug zappers over 30 years. I even had a smaller Black Flag bug zapper for the past 3 years. They all have worked well, but this is the first one that actually uses a black light which doesn't cast a bluish light throughout the yard. I wasn't sure how well it would work, but during the first couple nights it was completely filled with dead bugs. Now there are fewer bugs in the unit, but i believe it's due to less bugs. Before I purchased this bug zapper you couldn't go outside without being swarmed by mosquitoes. It looked like my arms were covered in fur. Now we can be outside in the yard enjoying the weather for hours and are not bothered by any bugs. This bug zapper has an energy saver setting that you can choose so it only turns on at night. I have also found that it is very quiet and you don't hear the zaps like the older units. I was unsure of paying so much for this unit, but I am very satisfied with this Black Flag unit!

Only one night of having the bug zapper on but i can honestly say it worked!! Every night I go in the backyard to take my dog out to use the bathroom I get attacked by mosquitoes last night all i heard was zapping and was not bothered by one mosquito. Tonight I will have people over in the backyard and I know the mosquitoes are going to rather bite us then go to the zapper but this thing really worked to get the mosquitoes hopefully won't have as much tonight.

I live on 19 acres in northern GA. I have a pond, a lake, a creek, wooded wetlands and about 10 acres of forest....and my house is right in the middle of it all. We moved into this property a few months ago and we were shocked at how many mosquitos there were. It was terrible. I put this bad boy out and in 3 weeks had to clean it, I know people say it is self cleaning but I guess not on my property. Pictures attached. I am very happy with the results. There are times when we are outside and do not see a single mosquito. My recommendation is to buy several packs of the lures and put a new one out NEXT to the old one during the last week of the old one's useful life. I think the effectiveness of the lure drops pretty significantly after 2 to 3 weeks. My family can enjoy the back porch and BBQ pit. Great stuff.

I wasnt sure if this product would be as effective, but this picture shows it is. My home is surrounded by several trees. We also live fairly close to a lake. I hung this from a tree about 50ft from where we sit outside. I cleared the branches around it so it wasnt being blocked by branches or leaves. You can barely hear, if at all any of the bugs hitting the lamp. I also burn tiki lamps where we sit to help in the immediate area.

I only have a half an acre so this unit should be sufficient. I don't see or hear many bugs being zapped compared to my last older unit that died. I don't think it attracts or kills many mosquitoes.

Great product really works

I bought two of these just yesterday and ran them overnight...talk about a bug massacre! I will have to clean it out as the bugs are all caught up in the grill around the unit. See the photo...

We’ve had it up for a couple of weeks and it seems to be doing what it’s supposed to be doing and we’re pleased with its performance.

I have never reviewed anything before but this is a product I fully believe in. It works. Period. I live in a highly populated mosquito re of Texas and the bugs are bad... I hate bugs that fly. This zapper is awesome! It suggests to attach one bug/mosquitoes lure but I am using 3. There is a noticeable difference. The smell of the burning bugs (June bugs in particular) is absolutely not pleasant but bug biteand just their presence is even more unpleasant. No complaints here. If you are thinking about it stop thinking and do it. I would not have taken the time to write this if I questioned this product at all!

I HATE MOSQUITOS!!!! This thing has been such a blessing for our backyard and made it enjoyable and relaxing again. It's very hungry for any little nuisance of an insect that dares approach it. Two thumbs up.

We got this big light it had a three year warranty. At the begining of the summer we put it up and it worked for maybe a month then quit. Changing the bulb didn’t work. We were told to mail it back for warranty we put the reciept in the box and return address 20$ for shipping. When we called to check why we hadn’t gotten back they said give them 8-10 weeks. We waited heard nothing called left message after message heard nothing this is March we sent it like July last year still call leave messages no one returns your call. So if you ever want warranty work forget it 60$ for bug light 20$ to ship it what a rip off we only put it out the summer we got it and tried a month this summer now no bug light at all. Black flag you have issues far worse than bugs. Do I recommend heck no!

I don't see the big difference and is really at my open area, we're are most of the mosquitoes

Bought this zapper to replace identical one that quit working after 2 yrs. I tried replacing bulb but still didnt work so I just ordered a new one since it was out of warrantee. I hope this one lasts longer. I love hearing the bugs get fried!

Doesn’t work like it says it does

Easy to set up. Notice a slight difference in presence of mosquitoes. Fir its size and cost , I expected a significant difference.

Does not seem very bright, but does its job.

Product is defective out of the box. Does not fully power up. Lamp is barely dim after 30 minutes. Will be returning

This is the second one I purchased. The first one, about 2 years ago is still working, and attracting and killing lots of flying critters. This one, has a light that is so dark purple, it’s not attracting anything at all. I still have a big mosquito problem in the area.
