This is a terrible product. Within one and a half years, so much has peeled off that I'll have to pay someone to remove what is left. I used it to extend the life of the deck and to make it look good since the home is for sale. It is a big turnoff for potential buyers. It is very expensive if applied as per the instructions, but certainly doesn't live up to the hype. Don't buy this product.

That is not what we like to hear, Frank! Our 4 gal. 10X Advanced Beach Deck and Concrete Resurfacer should last for 10 years on a deck surface, it should not peel from the surface. We need to know more about the application to get to the bottom of this, please give us a call at 800-373-6333, we want to try to make things right. Rustoleum

    Pleased with product
We purchased this product to resurface the concrete around our swimming pool. Our skimmer had a leak a few years back which caused a crack to form almost all the way around the pool before we realized what was happening. I wish I had known before applying to use a brush and fill in the cracks prior to rolling it on the concrete. However, even though we did it after the fact, it looks great. I think it will blend in with the second coat. It just would have been easier to do it first. We only purchased one 4 gallon bucket and had only enough to go about half-way around the pool with one coat. I just ordered two more buckets and can hardly wait for it to arrive so we can finish. It really looks nice and has sort of a sandy feel to it for nonslip surface. We have no idea how well it will hold up, but it looks good now.

    Great on concrete!
Covers repaired places in concrete well. Blends well. Keeps concrete pool deck cool and non-slip texture is great for the pool area. Not so attractive on wood decking.

It was horrible! Don't buy it!!
So we put this on our deck 2 years ago and it was extremely hard to apply on the deck and it doesn't look anything like what they promise. Now, 2 years later we are having to replace our entire deck because it is rotten. It definitely didn't protect the deck!! Don't buy this stuff!!

Please keep in mind that Rust-Oleum Restore 10x Advanced Deck and Concrete Resurfacer is not considered a waterproofing or sealer coating. The aggregate in the coating, combined with the acrylic resin, makes it very permeable which would allow moisture to pass through the film. This means that while the wood will absorb the moisture, the coating will also allow it to release from the wood. The Restore will not cause a wood surface to rot; however, it will not be capable of stopping any rot that exists in the wood when the coating is applied. It also will not prevent rotting as related to structural abnormalities in the decking such as lack of drainage, poor airflow, etc. Rustoleum

Don't waist your time and money. Looks great at first. The RESTORE never cured completely. Everywhere we had furniture on the patio, stuck to the bottom legs of the furniture and now have missing spots where the furniture was. A TOTAL WAIST OF SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS.

Uh oh, something is amiss here! Please keep in mind that cooler temperatures or higher humidity can extend the dry time of Rust-Oleum Restore 10X Advanced Deck and Concrete Resurfacer. We recommend waiting at least 48 hours before replacing furniture. If the surface is tacky or soft after 48 hours, then we recommend extending the dry time before replacing furniture. Rustoleum

A waste of time and money
This product did not hold up and only lasted 2 years before it cracked, peeled, and fell off of my deck. My disclaimer: I did not strip all of the old stain off the deck, BUT there was barely any left on. It was almost all worn off except for the underside and any low traffic areas such as corners or under railings. I did power wash the deck and let it dry before use. The product was applied in May of 2014 and it began peeling off last fall in medium to high traffic areas (the low traffic areas are just cracking). There is no warranty if you do not follow application instructions to the letter and therefore, this product was a complete waste of time and money.

Preparation is key to Rust-Oleum Restore 4x Deck Coat adhering properly. To properly prepare your surface we recommend starting your project using either the Restore Deck Start Wood Primer or the Restore Deck Stripper. Call us at 800-373-6333 so we can try to make things right. Rustoleum

I used this product on a floating wood dock in the heat and sun of Florida about 6 years ago and it has held up very well. It took about 3 1/2 gallons for a 12 x 12 old bare wood dock. It goes on very thick and fills in small cracks and seals down splinters well. It is easy to touch up and I have used it again to fill some new cracks in the wood after 6 years....it matches very well and the dock has stayed in good shape because of this application. In the sun it is hot to bare feet. I liked it so much I used it in a different color (there are many colors available) on a much larger deck in the mountains of Virginia and have been happy with it there also. You can buy it in 4 gallon buckets as well, which I used in Virginia on a much larger project. It has held up better in the sun of Florida than under trees in the shade of Virginia, but in both applications it has made the dock and deck last far longer and look better than they would without it.

Did a nice job of restoring my concrete pool deck and covered small cracks
This is the second time I used this product on my pool deck. It didn't last the 10 years as advertised but power washing may be the cause of that. I did not have a problem with it lifting or cracking.
