Great for two wire switch - don't have to jerry rig anything - UL approved so Insurance Companies like that. Easy to put in, more options than I ever expected. Nothing special to do.

This switch is easy to install, but the instructions are very hard to read due to the size of the font. And when it is time to program the switch, it takes some patients. The instructions were revised since I bought this product before, and is a little easier to understand. Once you figure out what to do, it makes total sense. Very flexible programming on and off times. It can be programmed to turn on at a random time after sundown and turned off at a random time before the sun come up in the morning. Or you can program it to come on and shut off with the sun down and up times. Or you can program it to come on and shut off at a designated time daily. You can also program it for a different time every day of the week. Very flexible. They pack a lot of power into a small package. This is my second purchase of this product. I love it. Easier to install in a deep switch box.

It is a piece of junk. Had it installed and have had nothing but problems. I would not recommend this timer.

Relatively easy to install!

This switch works exactly as I wanted. Programming was my only issue since the buttons are so small. But that is necessary to save space. I ended using a golf tee to press the buttons.

Very pleased with this timer.

Pretty easy install if you identify the hot lead and read all the instructions prior to programmimg. Only downside is that it only works with incandescent.

I've had one of these installed for years and it works as expected. Pore outages do not effect the settings. The installation is fairly easy, but the initial programming was time consuming. It would be much better to have instructions for a quick initial set=up. This devise has many set up options that require extensive programing. I just use the dawn to dusk option for my front and rear porch lights.

I used this to light my front porch garage lights. I tried several and all have failed including the wifi lights since they require to be wired to the neutral bar. This was easy for me to program and fit my schedule and can accommodate either a single pole or 3 way light switch configuration.

Great switch. Used two in our previous home for nine years, on had to replace one battery. Programming is easy when you get used to the sequence. No need to remembering to turn your lights on or off. I use it for my outdoor lights.

Horrible device. Display is nearly impossible to read (I had to try using a magnifying glass). Programming is convoluted to the extreme. The computation for Sunset is very general which caused me to have to 'game the system' by mis-setting the actual time to get the lights to come on before dark. Once set, it worked well for a number of years, however, when I wanted to change the programming, it failed to respond to commands, would not reset to factory settings. I bought a replacement unit made by a well respected electronics manufacturer and have been delighted, it is everything this piece of junk was not: easy to program, back lit, easy to read with normal reading glasses, has a precise computation for sunrise/set based on your Latitude and Longitude.

This replaces a front yard timer and is the same as my back door timer that I have had for several years. It has worked well. My only objection is that it is very tedious and somewhat confusing to set the program but once done, it works well and does not lose the program in power outages.

Purchased this on a Saturday and when I went to install none of the wires in my home matched the colors on the timer. Called the customer support number listed in the instruction manual and was connected to a specialist named Dave. He could not have been more helpful, he guided me through the wiring configuration and then assisted me with programming. The unit works flawlessly and the customer support was great!

Exactly what I needed. Easy installation. Love the daylight savings dusk to dawn setting. Used it for the front door porch light so don't ever have to worry about it again. Great price.

Too bad Home Depot no longer carries this item in the stores. Order it online. The programming is a bit difficult to understand, but you can call the company help line and get someone right away who will walk you thru each step of the programming and explain what the various options do. I have several of these and plan to add more to my home.

Easy DIY wiring took less than half an hour. Programming is a little tricky but only took a few minutes - included directions are good though you may want to read through first before you start. I programmed the time to use the astrological clock for our porch light and it works perfectly. I have not adjusted programming since initial setup despite power failures to house. Works exactly as advertised. Great switch!

I have Intermatic EJ600 and it is excellent. The EJ500 is less expensive but the data should tell that the minimum wattage is 40W. With the new LEDs I was below.

The timer was easy to install. I used it to control out some out-door lights. However, there was a problem. When the timer was off, one of my outdoor lights flickered. It took a $90 visit from electrician to discover that this timer does NOT work with the CFL light bulbs I had. When we changed the bulbs to incandescent everything worked fine. So I think there should be a big warning to tell people just what type of light you can use with this device.

I had an older version at my old house, but this one is even better. Allows programming for sunset and has automatic daylight savings time adjustment and an easy on off press on cover that doesn't erase the programmed on/ off times. I have two now and might update my older version at my other house. Normal use should only require cheaper 15 amp version.

This product has been very difficult to program. My electrician programmed it first, did not come on and go off at correct times. I've attempted to program it with the same results. Instructions are confusing with no clear way to start over. Small buttons are difficult to push. Would like to return it. Or have someone program it.

I am a Grandmother and I do all of the DIY projects in our home. This was intended for our Coach Lights in front of the garage. The most time consuming was setting up the program on the display. There are numerous steps and modes, and I found myself calling Intermatic for some assistance. I found the representatives to be very patient and helpful. I used the stylus from my Smartphone because the padded buttons you need to push are quite small. The actual installation changing out the existing switch for this one took about 5 minutes, only because it's always a challenge getting all of the wires stuffed back in carefully. Everything seems to be working O.K. There are many settings and Modes, but I just stuck with the basic Dawn/Dusk feature. This was exactly what I was looking for!

I'm very disapointed in this switch, because I've programmed it four times and it still does not go on and off at sunset and sunrise. If I turn it on manually at dark, it only turns off at midnight, and doesn't come on again. This is the third switch I've purchased and I've never had any problems with programming the others. Can Home Depot provide me with another switch that programs properly? Thanks, Edmund McKee

I use this product to turn my outside lights on and off at fixed times in the evenings. The device has more complicated programs also, if you want them. It is particularly easy to program because the manufacturer has a couple of You-Tube videos showing how to do the programming. It's easier than reading all the instructions. They also have photos on their website showing step by step, how to replace the batteries.
