Beautiful door really brings life to the house and curb appeal. We installed in 2 weeks ago and have received numerous complaints.
Cons: Be warned that if you are not a handy person the installation is difficult we had to get a professional to install and it took them a few hours. The door itself is very heavy and the screws it uses are large and need a special drill to install. For a security door its kind of flimsy the metal seems like it could be bent easily, the lock also can be broken into easily, and we got the mosquito type netting which can also be slit open easily. This is also a very pricey door. Pros: Appearance both from the inside and outside are stunning almost makes the price a little more bearable to handle. We were only able to suck up the price because we had a large gift card gifted to us. Although flimsy I still really appreciate the lock and key that comes with it. We also appreciated the installation video. We can finally have fresh air running through the house on those hot summer days!

Rusted in less than a year
It took forever to get the security door delivered from Home Depot (white solstice). We paid for the special order on Sept 8 2013, but they first delivered a door that had fallen off the truck and frame was bent in the corner. On November 26 2013 I finally took delivery of our door (but I think it was the same that they repackaged). So we had it installed in December 2013. I selected a door with a powder coating because it should provide complete protection (no pinhole) and should never peel off for years. However, it took less than 1 year to start seeing rusty spots, and now in January 2015 (1 year after installation) there are rusty spots everywhere and the coating is peeling off and falling on the entrance carpet. This is obviously a manufacturing problem, and I am going to try the manufacturer warranty. The original cost was $410. So my recommendation is STAY AWAY.

The door is really pretty and definitely adds to the front of the house. But the steel seems flimsy and shakes every time we shut the door. The whole point to a security door is to feel secure. This is only available online so I didn’t know until it arrived. The way it sits on my door frame doesn’t work well so we had to carve a space into the frame so we can lock/unlock it. Even then, it’s a pain. I can’t return it so we are making the best of it.

don't buy this door
If I could have given this a minus rating I would.
The door was professionally installed and after 1 week the hardware on the handle broke so the door is closed and can't be opened.
A locksmith is having to come out, the hardware distroyed just to be able to use the front door to the house.
I called Home Depot who could only email the company and was told it would take 24-48 hours for them to get back to home depot.
new hardware for the door is not sold separately

Beautiful
This is the most beautiful screen door I’ve ever seen. The only thing I dislike is that is doesn’t have a Pneumatic Screen and Storm Door Closer so the door swing open with no Toto stop it and it closes hard making a lot of noise.

Don’t purchase; lock doesn’t fit.
Purchased August 2021 and installed in October 2022. Locks set holes don’t line up with door. contacted customer service and solution is to drill out new holes in door which will comprise powder coat. The insect screen attachment points had holes that were stripped. metal from fabrication cuttings still reside in the door that were powder coated and will eventually rust.
From my experience and other posts, I don’t have confidence that the lock will last.

Do not buy!
I have had this door for 5 yrs and it is rarely used. Used it today and the lock set broke. I can no longer open my front door and can't get the screws out either.
Unique home design has not returned my calls.
Went to home depot was told a new lock set would be 145 dollars! Was also told I would have to be the one to install the new lock set. That's an outrageous price for a lock that will probably break in a few years.
I can't even remove the screws in now. Dont know if I'll ever be able to use my front door again and hope I dont have a fire!
This has turned into a big hassle. This door is beautiful but do not be fooled. Do not buy

Read this don’t buy it
As far as doors go it’s a good door it looks nice. They say that the lock and handle are now discontinued, they are not, all they have to do is order them from the manufacturer that they get the doors from but they say it’s discontinued the manufacturer says it is not discontinued they just have to order it and they will not if you buy this door you’ll never be able to replace the handle because for some unknown reason it’s too much for them to call and order another door lock for you they’re really jerks about this one

Poor locks
I’ve had this door for 5yrs. Live in Phoenix AZ so no rust has accumulated, however the locks have been replaced 3 times. Seems poor design, locks fall apart and don’t last long. You cannot purchase these locks at any place. Only Home Depot through special order so make sure you have a back up set of locks because it will fail. You will not have a security screen that will prevent intruders from coming in...and that’s the whole point of having a security screen right. Don’t recommend this product

Nice quality, attractive, and does the job. Instructions were clear, easy to follow. Should include touchup paint, or at least an order form for it, since shipping and installation can cause scratches, especially on and around screws. I called the manufacturer, and they were kind enough to mail me a small bottle free of charge.

Sadly, I only got about a year out of this door and then it rusted and the lock set snapped -- just like everyone else who has left a review. Looked and worked great for a few months. The lock is unique to this door, so you can't simply replace it with something better when it breaks -- you're stuck. The paint job is flawed -- it starts to peel on the inside edges of the design where they didn't prep the metal properly. (No, it's not just that steel doors rust near the ocean -- not in 6 months if it's painted adequately.) Do not use the one-way bolts! You will likely need to adjust the door to get it set right in the frame and that will involve adjustment of the bolts.

DOOR KNOB DOES NOT HOLD UP WELL!
We ordered this door last year in April, and Wa-la a year later the knob has broken off. The door is beautiful and we have not had a problem with rust as a few reviews have mentioned. But I'd rather get some high quality spray paint, sand the spot out and spray it; rather than replace the door knob. The knob does not look like it was welded well, just popped right off. I am so disappointed because I love the door. So if you have a lot of visitors, parties etc. I would not recommended if you do not have another entrance that you can use for visitors.

Great look, bad parts
I bought this door because the look was great and matched my house perfectly. I get compliments on the door all the time at how well it matches my modern home. For the price this unique design seemed like a great choice. There are a few problems, however. First, the powder coat scratches off easily and rusts quick, meaning wherever a screw driver is used bright orange rust will soon appear. Second, the lock set is terrible. This is, unfortunately, the biggest drawback and overshadows the design. There is a plastic part among the metal linkage that will eventually snap and render the door handle useless. This happened to me after 3 months of normal door usage - the handle started to bend to a more downward position and eventually snapped and could spin freely. Ordering a replacement lock set is where I read the reviews about the problems exactly the same as mine. Buyers should know, up front at the original door purchase, the problems with the door handle. I don't think there is another part that will fit in this door - you're stuck rebuying the $80 part every 6-12 months, unless you're very gentle with your security door, which seems oxymoronic.

6 Months Later ... Rusted Out
If you live near the beach, do not buy this door. Rust began showing up after a few weeks. Three months later, the powder coating of the edges peeled off. Five month later, the front powder coating peeling off. Six months later, rust everwhere ... a total mess! Extremely disappointed ... took me a while to save up for this door.

Great Product!
Great product, that was ordered online with such ease!
Be sure to correctly measure your frame where the door will be installed! We ran into a little problem with fitting the door at first but had make some very minor adjustments which turned out well. Overall, this security door was good investment and a overall good buy!
