If your pilot keeps going out of will not light, this should always be your first attempt to fix it unless the water heater is in horrible condition; Water leaking, black smoke mark, etc. Try this for $10 and 20-45 mins of your time. It's worked for us on 8 out of the last 9 water heaters. You don't have to use both adapters so don't worry about it. Watch YT. I'd get a 24/36 and return the other once you figure out which you need. Do not bend it since it's soft copper.

Pretty simple to install. 2 nuts! I did NOT listen to reviews and thought I knew better, Maybe a dud but seems like too many people are getting duds before me too. Lasted 52 days, pilot light OUT. Put a different company's in. PERFECT! Shame on Everbuilt

This thermocouple only last for about one year. In a pinch this is a great product, but does not last long enough...

Easy replacement. It's working great in my steam boiler.

I read the reviews and should have listened to the ones that indicate improper threading. I was so happy when I was able to secure it after an hour. Worked for 2 weeks. Good luck in getting it off the bracket. Took 2 hours because of the improper threading. Damaged the bracket while doing so, now have to get a new pilot bracket, the gas pipe, and the thermocouple! My old one was very easy to take off.

I tried carefully to get it straight and thread it in - barely grabbed using my fingers then gentle turning with a wrench stripped the threads. What junk. The old one (a Honeywell Q340A1090, made in Mexico instead of Vietnam where the "Everbilt" is from) had no such problems. Thought I had it taken care of DIY but now calling the plumber if I don't want to freeze tonight.

So far it is working fine. I had an old odd valve. It would not thread in. So I desoldered the end and sanded down the parts. Washer and aluminum end. That allowed me to have 3 threads.

Worked as it should.

The only reason I give it a single star is because it didn't fit my application, a Mr. Heater blue flame space heater. Although the packaging calls it a universal fit that probably applies to standard appliances such as water heaters. I'm sure if it had fit it would have worked fine. Returned it.

The tip of the thermocouple is too short. I'm not saying the capillary tube I'm saying the tip is just a little too short as it fits in the pilot assembly
