Great door with beauty, style, and well constructed.
I am very happy with this door slab. My experience with installing a slab door was none, but I planned it well after ordering it. I bought the tools I needed to route out the wood for the hinges and strike plate, and to cut the holes for the door lock and strike. I was very careful about measuring and was pleased with the results. Painting was not so easy since the door slab had was a smooth surface and raised molding around the panels. I tried a brush as some recommended, but did not like the results using semi-gloss, white paint. I ended up using a small 4" x 1/4" nap roller for the flat areas and this was as good as I was going to get without using a sprayer, which was too much. The door had to be cut on one edge since it was installed in an existing pre-hung door frame that had about 1/4" cut off the door edge, and it comes "true to size". I used a small table saw I bought and had to tape some cardboard on the table for the door to be supported on as it was being cut because of the raised molding. This worked so I was able to cut the door down to 31 3/4" wide with some help holding it. Next cutting out the indentations for the hinges and strike plate using a router and a mortice template kit I bought, and then cutting the holes for the door lock using a template drill kit for that. It all worked out in the end, but I was worried I would make a mistake so was very careful. When it was ready, I hung the door and it fit well. I had to remove one of the door jam wood strips and move it a little bit so the door would close all the way, since the hinge template kit I used did not locate the hinges exactly the same distance from the door front, but it was not that hard to do. The photos show the end result, but I still need to paint around the door to match it the really white paint I used. Now that I have what I need and know how to do this, I plan to buy some more of these doors and change the other doors in my home. The savings on ordering the door custom to fit helped pay for the cost of tools. The door is solid core, just not solid around the edges of the panel molding. It is well designed and artistic. It was fairly priced, affordable, and well made, It was not wrapped when I picked it up, as it was delivered on a pallet, but it was not damaged. I also installed an identical pre-hung door in my master bath where there was not door. The room looks 10 times better than it did with the cheap 6 panel door it had. I recommend this door to anyone that wants to improve the looks of their home, whether you do it yourself or have it done by a professional installer.

Great Product, Excellent Customer Service
We ordered these doors online based off the excellent reviews and the doors are absolutely fabulous! Solid construction they have much more substance to them compared to a hollow door and they are a great alternative to solid wood doors. If you have never installed slab doors make sure you are up for the job because it patience and planning. Our original order was damaged in transit to the store but customer service took care of us and reordered the doors for us with only a slight delay.

Very attractive
I am using the door as a pocket door on a second bathroom. It looks great - great character, great design. The door is advertised as having the same weight, etc. as a wood door. It doesn't quite live up to that claim. However, I am so pleased I have ordered additional doors for the rest of my house.

Absolutely Beautiful
I saw these doors on an end cap in Home Depot and decided right then and there, that I had to have them. I ordered six and had them installed by my handyman. Intially he kept insisting that these were 'special order' and was surprised himself when he realized you can buy them in Home Depot. These doors are now on my bedrooms and bathrooms and I special ordered the smaller size to put on my kitchen pantry. They are so pretty (even unpainted). I painted the bathroom ones myself so far with a small roller (to get in the grooves). It was pretty easy and if you use good quality paint, it dries smoothly and evenly. I used the Schlage Satin Nickel knobs and it really makes a statement in my home. It is contemporary looking, yet it lends a height of sophistication. Well worth the money and the quality is superior as well.
