Small, convenient second unit
I have used a Dremel Model 732 with a foot pedal for many years, and it has worked well in my workshop. I bought this Model 3000 to have a lighter, more portable unit that I can take to the garage or my boat. Conveniently, it fits on the same stand I made for the 732. I like the fact that many tools are interchangeable with the small handpiece on the old unit. The 3000 works well, although it lacks the power of my older unit for heavier work.

              Model Making Essential
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I find my Dremel 4300 indispensable in the building of models for my On30 gauge railroad. The number of accessories and attachments allow me to create detail and accurate cuts that I could not do otherwise. It is easy and quick to change accessories and attachments, and I find the accessories are well built and work exceptionally well. My 4300 is a joy to use and is a serious addition to the tools I need to create the models you see below.

Everything you need to get started!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a Christmas gift I received after debating over whether or not to pick up a rotary tool for months. I love the tool, it's a joy to use, and I've already gotten a few projects under my belt, from restoration to some light cutting and grinding. I can't wait to play around with the tool moving forward!

                    Don’t buy! Poor Quality
Buyer beware! I’ve owned this tool (and $150 in accessories) for 6 months. Went to use it for my 3rd job today. It was a basic wood edge router with $35 in new router bits. The blue button chuck failed. It failed to the point that I was unable to remove the router bit. It just kept slipping. To finish my job I ended up taking the dremal apart to be able to grip the shaft. When I opened the tool I discovered that the chuck system was a small metal pin that presses into one of four holes in the shaft. The metal pin and holes were worn out and could no longer engage. What terrible design! I have maybe swapped out bits 10 times. The tool is totally unusable now. To change a bit I have to completely disassemble the entire tool...not good.

                        Good Tool - Great Support
I've used this tool for about 2 years. I like it, but I recently ran into a problem with the bit locking mechanism because I'm an idiot and I tried to lock the bit with the tool on (DON'T DO THAT). I sent it in for repairs expecting an invoice, but they shipped back in two weeks in perfect working condition. They even called me when I forgot to include my return address. 10/10

                          The Basic Dremels are AWESOME
The one thing this unit is missing is the variable speed option. 2 speeds seems like a cost cut measure. Hope they bring that back in the 200 series. I have one that is many years old, I am buying them used for friends kids. Every single household should have at least one! My wife loves hers, teamwork.

Very hand tool, I have used this for polishing tile, sanding wood, cutting metal and engraving. The Dremel is basically a vertical drill or router with very high RPMs but has a low speed too. This kit comes with a good starter set of tools but there are many other sets you can get such as polishing and engraving. The tool is relatively easy to hold, just make sure you wear a mask and glasses as it has no guards. In this kit is a metal cutting blade I have used before and some sanding and polishing discs. This is a great tool to have for fine work in projects.Bits are fairly easy to add and remove.

I have only used this once... However, I have a tendency to work my Dremel pretty hard during my woodworking. I purchased this to replace my previous Dremel that was well over 10 years old. I hope this one is as good as my last... so far...so good !!!

It does what it says, and more...a lot more.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never thought I'd find another Dremel that I'd like better than my Multipro 395, but here we are. The model 3000 packs a punch and is similar if not more powerful than my older model. It has a variable speed control and comes with so many accessories you probably won't find a use for all of them. There are a few improvements that are quite noticeable after a few hours of use. I really like the new bell shaped grip. It just feels better and allows for more precise control. The 3000 runs a lot cooler than my old model and there is little to no vibration (even at 35,000rpm). Another huge bonus is that the Dremel 3000 is compatible with all of my previously purchased accessories. Probably my favorite feature with this newer model is the EZ Twist integrated wrench/nose cap. Gone are the days of searching for a collet wrench to change out your bit. It's quick, easy, and effective. I've read a few reviews questioning the longevity of this tool, but I'm wondering if they ever read the maintenance instructions to properly "seat" the brushes before using the tool under load. So far, after a month of use, my Dremel 3000 has lived up to expectations and I'm expecting it to far exceed them. The only con I've found is that the Dremel 3000 won't complete all of my unfinished projects all by itself!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this type of tool before and it has always worked great. The kit was complete and the attachments were easy to use, change. I did get a little bit spin a couple times, but after re-tightening the nut it worked well. Never lagged power and changing the speed was easy, right at your thumb position.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice Dremel tool. I like the ez twist nose piece made tool changes much easier without having to find the wrench. On and off and speed changes easy to reach and use. Included tool set has most tools for getting started using the tool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Dremel 3000 along with the Plunge Router accessory to make this coffee mug coaster with stones from a trip to Italy. The ability to control speed was great! Fast when removing bulk from middle and slower speed when getting to edges. The 3000 fit well into the router locking nut and remained rock solid. It also worked well when I engraved my name/date on the back. Versatile tool!

Perfect for the job at hand!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of my other hobbies is antique sewing machine restoration. I usually take on this task by hand because the rpms on electric tools is too fast and will strip away the painted lacquer & decals on the machine, which is not good. Not this tool. The variable speed was just what I needed. Using the lowest setting, I was able to clean up the base of the machine in no time and the decals and paint looks amazing. Next up, the chrome plated parts. I am sure within no time this machine will be humming and on to it's next owner.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very happy with the Dremel 3000-1/25 Variable Speed Rotary Tool Kit, i used several of the Sanding Drums & Bits to do wood carving including making a Loon Head that will be attached to a Native American Style Wood Flute. The Variable speeds are great for doing different types of sanding on the wood, and is light enough to be able to use it all day long.

I absolutely love this Dremel rotary tool. I had a cheaper one that I bought elsewhere, but it was not that powerful, and it was battery powered, so I constantly had to charge batteries. I decided to go with this unit because I have a bunch of Dremel tools that never let me down, but I also wanted corded so I could continuously run without interruption. This does exactly that. I've been carving out stars on the distressed wooden flags for the past month, and I have been running this for hours at a time. it's powerful and never over heats. The speed settings are really nice, and it's also super light weight. My favorite part is the flexible wand that I also bought to use with this tool. Its like carving with a pen, and fits on this unit very nicely. You also get a few bits and a really nice hard case with this tool. I'm blown away with how much power this unit has, and what a work horse it is. I cant recommend it enough.

I have used this to remove a snapped-off exhaust stud behind the engine, to cut plastic, and several other miscellaneous jobs. I previously had a cordless one of a different brand that didn't charge properly and didn't have much power to do the job. The cord is worth the small inconvenience. I recommend buying the carbide bit. It removed the broken stud and will cut/grind almost anything. Just make sure you use lower speeds on the plastic or you will melt rather than cut. WEAR SAFETY GLASSES! The pirate look was NEVER "in".
