I have not installed as of yet been busy. Yet I like the fact that it is an unfinished Screen door because I can paint or decorate myself. Over all, I do like the screen door.

Reasonable quality at price point - Avg skilled installation needed for blank door.

When I received two of these screen doors, I was agast at the overall poor quality of the contruction. The dowels which connected the rails and stiles were off-center by as much as 1/8" requiring that I do considerable sanding to smooth out the surface and hide this defect. One corner came apart easily because insufficient glue was used. other corners were glued with small 1/16" gaps between the rail and stile. I had to use a lot of wood putty to fill the the many nicks and gaps in the wood. I liked the fact that the screens were easily removable, but the groves routed into the door for the screen had an inconsistant distance from the inner edge meaning that one screen was loose and the other was so tight it was hard to reinstall. One of the two doors was warped badly making installation dificult. If this company has a quality controll department, they must have been out to lunch when these doors came through.

For the price of this screen door the wood should not be constructed of dozens of finger-jointed pieces. I've bought $30 screen doors with solid wood, made by the same company! Even with a solid color stain, the joints still show.

My advice in purchasing a wood screen door would be to check the vertical side pieces for use of multiple pieces of wood that are either finger or saw-toothed joined- if so, best to avoid unless you are interested in a door with year or two use at best before it sags and separates at some of the multiple joints and needs to replaced. I built my own screen door using select yellow pine with continuous vertical and horizontal pieces and using pocket-hole joints. Cost less than $ 40.00 with sweat equity. Product is more stable and tight and will not have joint separation as in the finger or saw-tooth joints and should last many years. The plus, a sound screen door and the pleasure in building it.

This is a good, solid, simple screen door. I am pleased with iht.

My only complaint about this item was that where the styles joined there was a gap in the milled joint, once painted didn't show as much as it would have if stained. The screen came off as a unit, you don't have to remove spline and replace, just take out the 8-10 screws holding the metal screen frame and out it comes. For not having a middle framing piece, it has a nice solid feel.

Although the screen arrived damaged from shipping the first time, it was built very sturdy and had a removeable screen for easy repair. I reordered the door since it was a great deal and went with the style of my house.

This door is not stainable, my door was made of 25 pieces milled together, be prepared to paint.
