These are not inexpensive and supposedly one is only doing this job once. Also, one needs to buy a special wrench socket that you'll probably Never use again. The windows are sturdy and looked very nice after installation. Now that we're a year out that is not the case. Every one of the 3 window protectors are now rusting where the art iron was spot welded to the main frames. This is only going to continue to degrade. For that reason I am disappointed with this product and cannot recommend it.

The window guard is well made and stylish. The quality is such that I anticipate many years of service. The symmetrical design allows the guard to be installed either vertically or horizontally. Once installed with the special bolts it will deter any would-be intruders. I highly recommend.

Ths window bar is very light and not solid. Also the welding is poor. Is ok for the price if are looking for a decorative window piece.

Easy to install, but needed to purchase an extra large flathead screwdriver because the large one way screws can not use a standard. I live in a first floor NYC apartment and had to install on the interior side. My windows are recessed and finished with wood panels and center frame, so the two sets of inside mount and one set of T-brackets worked out perfectly..

We ordered various size guards for our home and they all arrived in one package via UPS. We did read the reviews and the mentioning of brackets (search on HD: "unique home designs black brackets") and a "special tool." The special tool is at least half an inch flat screw drive. Upon installation we have decided to use our own hex screws. The reasoning was - if a thieve bothers to unscrew the bolts - it will be easier to cut through the "guards." The metal is rather thin and the "guards" are rather light weight-wise. Some came a bit bent and with scratches, so we had to "touch-up" a few parts prior to installation. The look is great! At the very least - it's the best insurance against idiotic "fly-by" thieves. At least it would take some time to get through these guards to get to windows. Welding is of good quality - we had to modify two of the screens (reduce them width-wise) and had to cut through the metal and welding spots - sturdy frame and welding job. The brackets fit in good. Might be a good idea to have an additional person to help with alignment and drilling, screwing. Although, as it was mentioned, these guards are hollow and very light. Cannot tell if they are tubular unless coming up-close inspecting them. Great value for the price. We would definitely recommend Unique Home Designs.

It was missing all the hardware I thought was included. Otherwise I am happy with the look of it.

great decorative security bars for inside windows. Cannot ses from the outside

You have the best and strongest Security Bars. Nothing touches these.

I used these Bars to cover a large glass opening on my back metal doors, they fit good and was easy to install.

Nice product for the job. Don't come with the tool to install the security bolts though. Asked two store associate's and they couldnt find one either so i fashoned my own. It takes a LARGE flat tip screwdriver. I ground one of mine down to fit my drill. Worked great.

We actually did Not get this to "guard" a window, but to decoratively cover the water fountain that recirculates our koi pond - raccoons tend to bathe in it otherwise. The grill looks nice and lets birds (but not raccoons) bathe in peace :)

As usual the window casement was 47 inches wide, so I had to remove the two outmost vertical poles to fit the window. Otherwise it was a great purchase even through the window attachments took 2 months to arrive at the store.

Nice bars.. unfortunately did not match my other ones I purchased elsewhere.. So I returned them.... but attractive and sturdy...
