Problems started within 2 to 3 years of purchase. PROS: > Wife loves the small oven, perfect for cooking a meal for two. During holidays she uses the full oven to cook larger meals. > The oven and cook top are easy to keep clean. > Stylish looks. CONS > After about two years the first thing to stop working was the "Hot Surface" light. The light stays on continuously. This can be dangerous as I seriously burned my hand at one point. I was wiping up after a meal and one of the burners had not been turned off and when I wiped across the surface, I burned my hand and fingers. > After about 3 years the LED Clock display started to malfunction and now the time is not readable. > Thankfully the timer clocks are still working well enough that you can still tell the time on the timers, but some of the LED lights have started to show signs of failure. > My wife reports that once the stove top elements heat up, she cannot control/lower the temperature, which leads to pots boiling over. NOTE: I have not experienced this problem when I use the stovetop.

    Worked great at first then the removable center stopped working and the bottoms of whatever I’m cooking doesn’t bake. Now the finish is coming off. Very disappointing for a very expensive oven.

        Peeling Door
        we love this product but were so disappointed when the oven door began to peel. we had purchased an extended warranty but apparently, it doesn't cover cosmetic damage. to me, this is an issue of poor manufacturing. an oven door should not peel - plain and simple. it bothered us so much that went on to pay way too much money for a replacement door. that's how much this issue bothered us.

          Big disappointment
          Bought 11/07/18. Beautiful to look at but it’s a disappointment to cook with. The temperature fluctuation in both ovens make it impossible to cook anything. I tried moving foods and moving racks but nothing works. I’ve calibrated the temperature with no change. The cooktop scratches easily to. After over two years of trying to use this stove, I’m getting a new one and I won’t get a Samsung ever again.

            Defective Knobs
            5 days after warranty expires called to get replacment knobs, but to no avail. finish is peeling off. clearly the design of the upper oven leads to this defect, but the customer had to pay for replacement knobs.

              Beware of peeling paint on Black "Stainless Steel"
              today is november 25, 2020. my warranty expired october 31, 2020. while cleaning the stove today, i noticed peeling paint around the door handles and on the face of the stove. 25 days out of warranty! as i went to post my review, i was asked "can we make it right?" i figured, sure maybe they can and started a chat with mahender j. he told me that it was not a warranty issue and would not be covered. ok, i figured as much, but he/she/ they claimed that they do not have any reported issues with peeling paint. i then posted links to the two threads regarding this in the samsung community and was told, "currently, we do not have any options". and then, "we at samsung care are here for you 24/7" and "if you need additional help, ask me anytime." really?!!

                Worst Appliance Purchase Ever!
                do not purchase this range! it will give you nothing but problems. the control panel, although stated as stainless, is not. it discolors easily, leaving the panel looking spotted and filthy. i'm on my 2nd replacement which has become discolored (not a surprise), and the graphics are now wiping off! the fabrication is a flimsy piece of metal that is sprayed to look like stainless and without any type of top coat, to stop splatters, from discoloring it. today, the warming element came on, and the oven door won't open. neither were turned on. so, it is now unplugged. we won't be able to use it until a service center can come to fix it, which is going to take week! what a waste of money. don't buy a samsung appliance, especially this range. it's not worth the headache, trust me.

                  great range but the knobs are defective, and should be covered under a warranty the film comes off, plastic cracks and looks terrible. they should be removed when performing a oven cleaning cycle and it should be explained in the manual in big bold text! samsungs fault! this was not a inexpensive purchase samsung should stand behind its product. i will think twice on the next purchase of a samsung product.

                      [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had this range for 3 years. The double oven which can be used separately is very useful. It is great when you only need to heat one of the 2 oven areas or cook at 2 different temps. The convection feature is very efficient. The fast boil burner feature of the 3 way burner is very quick. The only problem that we have encountered is that the LED readout on the clock has 3 dead elements. The last number cross bar went out. Can't tell an 8 it will show "0" since the bar is out! The last number in the picture should be a 6

                          Good features but display has missing bar after two years.
                          The back right burner is too close to the knob and gets steamed. The quick boil burner is way slow. After two years, the number eight looks like nine because a bar is missing. The back of the oven is not recessed so had to have the plug moved to push the oven all the way back.

                            Don't Waste Your Money
                            I bought this 3 years ago. Have always wondered why anything I attempt to cook in the lower oven takes about 1 1/2 times as long to cook as it should. I finally realized it never stays at temperature. It will come up to temperature (several minutes AFTER the thermostat indicates it's at temperature), but it will not stay at the set temperature. My research indicates this is a common problem with this range. I just now purchased the Cafe Induction Range and am hopeful that it will perform as disclosed.

                                  At first look the range looks and works well. After using the range a few months and through normal cleaning with soap and water, the finish peels off. Its a very thin tint that they put on the appliance. For the amount of money we paid for this range, I would think the finish would stay on it. I hope the same thing doesn't happen to our fridge. 3 year warranty does not include repairs of this kind and the Samsung company will not repair either. Save yourself the headache and money and stay away from this brand.

                                    Looks good, works good...until it doesn't. Purchased less than 3 years ago and had been flawless until we ran a self-cleaning cycle on it. The very next time we turned the oven on the main PCB board smoked and nearly caught fire. Called Samsung, who informed me it was out of warranty but that they would open an investigation ticket due to the burning PCB board. They seemed concerned if it actually caught fire and if anyone was hurt. Was told I would receive a call and they would send a repair tech out...four days later, zero calls/voice mails. I removed the back cover of oven to see if I could fix it myself, ha! The main power input line to PCB got SO hot it melted/burned half of a plastic connector away, burnt the pin out of the board and damaged the connector next to it. My house still stinks of burning plastic. Never again will I buy from this manufacturer. Currently awaiting delivery of a much higher rated GE oven and still have not yet heard anything from Samsung.

                                        I was so excited to purchase the Samsung 5.8 cu. ft. Freestanding Gas Range with Power Burners w/Flex Duo™ dual doors. Unfortunately, after a year, I had to move for work and the stove was sold with my house. How I miss my stove! Losing it made me want to write a review to express how much I love this stove! I would recommend it to anyone. The innovative dual doors makes cooking and baking so easy. It's the greatest feature I never knew I needed. Most of the time I would just cook using the top half of the stove in order to use less gas. Such a great option. Always was great to make large Turkeys and roasts with the roll out rack! It bakes, broils and cooks beautifully. When I baked a cake I was never concerned that it might flow over. My baked goods always rose up perfectly, evenly browned and tasted delicious. The power burner is another favorite feature. It cuts boiling and grilling time. Everything always comes out perfect! I just can't express how happy this stove made me. I have only one issue that I would improve upon and recommend Samsung address. Cleaning the cook top. It's not easy to clean the cook top. It holds onto grease and smears. It takes effort and time, yet still remains smudged. All and all I will consider purchasing another one for my new home!! It's my favorite stove out there!

                                          If you are looking for a double oven please remember this is a "Flex Duo", not a true double oven...
                                          If you are looking for a double oven please remember this is a "Flex Duo", not a true double oven and you'll likely be disappointed. There will be heat creep between the two ovens in dual mode. That being said, we love this oven with a few exceptions. We've had the oven 3 years. What we like: Flex duo is really nice for us. It's just two of us and there are a lot of times (most, really) when we only need the smaller upper oven for meals. When we need the full oven, or dual ovens, it works great. Generally, if we are using it in dual mode, the temps we need are within 100 degrees of each other so it's not a big deal. When we bought it, I thought the warming drawer was a waste and would never be used. I was wrong. We use it all the time to warm plates and bowls while prepping meals. Works great. I don't know if our ovens run colder than the set temp like others report. The range we had previously was probably 20 years old when we bought our house and then we used it another 15 years. So, we must have adapted to unreliable temps and this oven seems to work great for us. If the temps are off, we've never noticed a difference. We've cooked roasts, 25+ lb turkeys, breads, biscuits, pies, frozen pizza, fresh pizza, etc. and really don't have any complaints on its performance. The steam clean option is nice to keep the ovens spruced up until you need to do a full self-clean (warning: Self-clean on this is really hot and warms up adjacent cabinets. When we run self-clean, we open the cabinets and remove any baking supplies...spices, flour, sugar, etc. until it has cooled back down). A feature that we like, but some may not, is when a timer expires and is alarming, opening the oven door shuts it off instead of having to hit a button on the panel. It doesn't cancel the timer, though. It will display "End" until you cancel it with the control panel button. Here are the things that annoy us: The burner knobs don't have a detent at the high setting, so it's easy to under-set it (burner cycles on/off, not truly on high), and if you go just a hair past high, the burner also cycles on/off. There seems to be a fine line on getting any of the knobs locked on high. The push-button action on the control panel is really hard. The center zone of the 3-zone burner is labeled "Fast Boil", leading one to think that using the center zone only will boil a small pot of water quickly. Not the case. I think it's the slowest burner on the stove. The mid-sized burners are much faster to boil. There are a lot of different functions on the control panel and I find that we sometimes leave something turned on. What would be nice is one button on the panel that cancels all functions. That way when we’re ready to eat, just hit one button to shut everything off. Overall, we’ve been very happy with this stove.

                                            Great range but the knobs not so great
                                            I waited so long to replace our old electric stove with a higher quality gas range. I did a lot of research, read reviews and decided on the Flex Duo w/Dual Door Freestanding Gas Range. I have had it for just under a year now and have been very pleased with it especially the dual oven capability. However, I was disappointed when the knob of my power burner broke off. I've looked on the Samsung website for a replacement knob and it is almost $60 for one knob. To make it worse...it looks like it only comes in stainless steel so it won't match my other 4 knobs. So, I thought I had found a work around and took the washer off and was going to just replace the broken plastic adapter with a metal one but nope. Turns out that it's all one piece of plastic. You would think that for the price point that Samsung would have invested a little more into the knobs which are used multiple times a day; everyday of the year.

                                              Best Range I have ever owned
                                              [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Samsung has created a winner with their 5.9cu. ft Electric Range with Flex Duo. The multiple size cooking rings on the ceramic top surface make it easy to cook a large meal and the additional warming area is great for keeping a dish hot until dinner time. The dual door design allows you to cook two separate dishes are completely different temperatures. Before this range, I needed to stagger my cook times and temperatures to accommodate. With this range, I can plan to slow cook a roast or other large item in the bottom section and use the convection feature to bake crisp cookies in the top. Both top and bottom have their own timer and temperature control. Because this range is wifi enabled, I can control and monitor cook times or turn on the over with the use of Samsung’s Smart Things application. My kids love using just the top convection portion of the oven to reheat leftovers or bake cookies. Because the top section is smaller, its quick to heat up and is more energy efficient. One thing to keep in mind is how quickly and evenly the convection works in this appliance. It will take a little time to adjust your cooking times to accommodate. If larger items are being cooked, the divider is easily removed. The one handle design with a latch to open just the top is a well-made. This appliance is well made and a pleasure to use. I can’t wait for the holiday season to really put this appliance to the test.

                                                8 months of ownership and it needs service
                                                I bought this range thinking that it will be trouble-free for at least 5 years but I was wrong. I bought this range on March 2017 and it now needs service. The issue is the warning light for the cook top, it stays on. It's been 1 month and the light does not turn off. I searched online and apparently is a common issue with samsung ranges. The touch screen panel also seems to malfunction sometimes. It displays an C-d0 error code. I'm waiting for Samsung to resolve this issue.

                                                  Purchased 11/16, The cooktop works awesome, but we had nothing but problems with the ovens. The ovens take a long time to preheat, there is a display that shows the internal temperature as it warms up but it is not correct (verified by multiple thermometers), it takes 15-20 minutes to reach the desired temperature. When using conventional oven (non-convection using the entire oven) the oven would be 100 degrees F off of the desired temperature (set to 400F actual would be 300F). This lead to under cooked dishes, and long cook times. We had Samsung out to repair the oven 4 times over 9 months, two of those times they replaced the main electronics board and the temperature sensors, all to no avail. When using convection the oven would only be off by 10-15 degrees (totally reasonable). The warming drawer was pretty awesome as well, we used it to keep pancakes warm when making a bunch. The top of the oven door gets really warm while using the oven, not necessarily bad, just an observation. Overall this oven is a great concept, terrible execution. Hopefully we just got a bad one. Samsung was good in that they refunded our purchase.
