After only about 4 years of owning this fridge we started having all the problems the other samsung french door refrigerators have. (that I did not know about prior to purchasing) The ice maker freezes over, the refrigerator does not keep safe temperatures for food therefore your food spoils fast. The temperature on the outside of the fridge reads normal but inside it is much higher. The fan pulling the air up from the freezer frosts over and starts making a very loud noise then stops working all together. You then have to empty the fridge and thaw it out over 2 days, losing all your food. there is NO fix for this and there is currently a class action law suit against samsung over this. Samsung is refusing to recall the issues and find a solution. DO NOT BUY ANY SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS!!!!!

Great refrigerator - only one issue
Love it, but the bottom ice maker is not producing ice like it should. Haven't been able to figure that out yet.

    Ice maker
The ice maker continues to leak, inside and outside . Sometimes it completely empties and has to be reset. So we wait for more ice.

      Worst experience of my life
Had this refrigerator purchased from Homedepot for only 3 months,, stop working all together, had repair tech here out 3 times already , 2 memory boards ordered and every time they put it in the part fries , now after being out here 3 times and 2 parts ordered they say it's something else . No one wants to do the right thing which is to replace The refrigerator . Purchased the extended warranty from Home Depot which is absolutely worthless, I have been a loyal consumer to Home Depot and they could care less about what we have been through. And Samsung absolutely could care less as well. They are telling us it could be 10 more visits from repair tech coming out before anyone takes responsibility in replacing it, I WILL NEVER buy any major appliance from Home Depot or buy SAMSUNG product ever again ,

        Good Deal!
Everything about this Samsung refrigerator is what I expected it to be and more. It's quiet and has all the room I needed, and more. It's beautiful to look at, and fits in my small kitchen...who would've thought?!

Love at first sight... and my opinion hasn't changed
I agonized over many different brands and models while deciding on a new refrigerator. We were replacing an eight(ish) year old very standard small refrigerator (no ice maker and about 25 cu. ft.). We have had this model for about two months now. So with that in mind, here is my review: * This model uses WAY less electricity than my older fridge. My electricity bill went down over $20 each month so far. * After the initial set up it took about 48 hours of ice making for the ice to taste right. Plan to throw away the first several batches of ice. You'll know when it's right because it won't taste like plastic. * We did have some water leakage from the water dispenser but after running a gallon or so through there (getting all of the air bubbles out) the water tasted better (like the ice) and there were no more drips. * This model is massive. It does fit in the space in my kitchen (with about a half inch to spare) and it is quite deep. This doesn't bother me, but keep in mind that it will come out about a foot past standard sized cabinetry. * The controls are easy to use (read the manual first). * The temperature stays pretty constant. I used the power cool option when we first plugged it in but I switched to Energy Saver mode after that and have had great results. The manual does say if condensation occurs during Energy Saver mode to switch off that feature but I've not had a problem so far. * There are so many features on this model that I love. -- The glass shelves are genius. One of them slides in if you have something extra tall. They are pretty easy to move up and down depending on how you want to configure your fridge. -- The bottom drawer in the fridge (the Cool Select Pantry) is mammoth and can hold so many things. -- The crispers are nice and deep. Also easy to take out and clean. -- The easy open handle was a major selling point with me. It is so convenient. I probably use it three times as often as I open the "real" fridge doors. -- The freezer bins are deep but not so big that you lose things. It is very well divided to help with organization. -- I love that the "lost" space on the freezer door was utilized with an extra bin. It is useful to store those little things or half full bags of frozen veg. -- And since I have kids in the house I love the fact that the door starts beeping when it's been left open for longer than three minutes. -- The internal lighting is awesome. Coupled with the glass shelves it is easy to see everything in the fridge. To give you an idea of how big this thing is, when we first got it we of course moved everything from the old fridge to the new fridge. The next day I went to the store and bought a two week supply of groceries plus Thanksgiving groceries. This fridge easily held the entire contents from my old fridge, five gallons of milk, a 16 pound turkey and all of the other things I bought. With plenty of room to spare. But even with the cavernous proportions, I still find it easy to see everything in my fridge. In the two months we've had it I haven't lost a single Tupperware full of leftovers (you know what I'm talking about -- the science project that you find growing back in the depths because it's been there so long you can't even remember what was in it?). The lighting and design is, in my opinion, so well thought out that it's so much easier to keep things organized. So yes, I'm enamored with my new refrigerator. At the moment I honestly can't think of a single bad thing about it. I will be sure to change my review if I find something.... but for now I'm still in love.

        Great refrigerator
This is a great refrigerator, and I love the showcase feature. Dual ice maker is also very nice, as the ice maker in the door's storage capacity is a bit on the small side. It is plenty for dispensing ice for drinks, but if you want to add ice to a cooler, you will need to have the secondary ice maker to make this happen. Also, a note to Samsung and installers, the actual size of the refrigerator in width is not 35 5/8" but it is actually more like 36 1/4+" as the side vents on the bottom of the refrigerator add to the width. We actually had a 1 1/2" reveal on both sides of the opening, so we could modify the opening to fit, but this dimension should be reflected in the specs, as most people depend on these to have a good installation. Otherwise, this is a great refrigerator, and runs very quiet.

Width is 36 3/8 inches, NOT as stated.
The actual width is 36 3/8 inches, not including side vents. With side vents its 36 3/4 inches. My cabinet is exactly 36 3/4 so it doesn't fit. The fridge seems nice but beware and don't trust the stated dimensions.

LOVE everything about this fridge, except it is SO LOUD. RETURNING ASAP!!
Bought this fridge online, read a million reviews for lots of refrigerator's and decided this would be the best on for us. I love the look, the size, the features, the double ice-maker, but it is the LOUDEST fridge we have ever owned. We have to turn the TV up to drown out the noise. It sounds like a vending machine in my kitchen or like the air conditioner from outside. If you can handle the noise or you're hard of hearing, this is the fridge for you.

Lots of room but if you have a problem-you are left out in the cold!
There is lots of room in this refrigerator BUT if you have several tall items that you like to store (OJ, Milk, Wine) there isnt a lot of space for them. Also, I have a MAJOR issue with the right side door closing (almost slamming shut) and I have contacted Samsung and the folks at home depot on 4 times via phone, 3 repair crews and online 3 times and no one will take the time to help me. It is very frustrating to not be given good service when you purchase a $3,000 product. I told my teenage sons I would give them $50 bucks if they could solve the problem! The one really great thing about this refrigerator is that it is large, beautiful, plenty of ice, and the lighting is stunning.

              Gem in my kitchen :)
I would have given 5 rating in each category, but the lower shelve unit is a bit flimsy in my opinion. We get our milk delivered in half a gallon glass bottles and placing 4 or more on 1 side makes the center center of the 2 shelves bend inwards a bit (hard to describe). I wasn't able to find anywhere what the weight limit is for the shelves, but they should take more than that.

              Great Fridge
Have had this fridge for only a week. So far all of our expectations have been met. The unit is large as expected but fits in a normal size hole. It is deeper than our discarded 27 ft unit. Love the well lit interior. Love the double french door operation and the special access door on right side. Unit has two ice makers. The ice maker in freezer is great for bulk quantity of ice. The controls and features are all on front of left door. The water dispenser peed a little for about 24 hours but stopped once all the air was flushed out of the fridge plumbing. The unit has twin compressors and are very quiet. The unit indicates temps of fridge and freezer on door upon touch of controls or opening door. The unit displays very accurate numbers verified by thermometer. The only discrepancy is that the temp you request may be about 5 degrees higher than what the unit actually runs at. The top shelf on left side folds up for tall items. Will update review if anything changes.
