I bought one of these for keeping in an area of the house where it would not be used very often. After about 10 uses, it fell apart and five tiny pieces came out of the piece where the barrel is coupled to the base. Stanley used to make good products.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the older version of the 68-010 years ago and liked it so much I bought several more so that I could have one at home, at work, one in each vehicle etc. The tool is well made and very sturdy, never any problems with the ratcheting mechanism. Excellent value! I've had these for many years and they all still work great!

Excellent ratcheting screwdriver.

Terrible screwdriver. No way to get the bits out of the holder without using another bit to pry it out Means you have to keep a bit in the end which risks loosing one when you put it away, ir pull a bit out of the handle so you van use it to pry one out of the "convienent" holder at the top . Clearly a tool designed by someone that doesn't use tools. Worst, most useless multi-driver I have ever purchased. Taking this back to HD...

Great screwdriver, works as described, great price too. only disappointment is with trying to get the bits out around the top of the handle. nearly impossible to remove with out using an other screwdriver to price them forward

I've had one of these in my electrical toolkit for a bunch of years. I adore it, and am going to buy another one for one of my other toolkits, and buy some more as presents. I love that it ratchets, I like the neat storage in the handle, but what I most love is the bit storage at the top. The top bit storage allows for swapping the most common bits much faster than for internal storage. From reading some of the other reviews, it looks like the top bit storage causes some consternation. For me, the top bits are super easy! Just rotate the storage ring to line up the bit you want with the hole, and turn the screwdriver upside down. The bit you want will drop out, easy peasy. There is one feature request I would love to see in a future screwdriver. Some competing products have multiple "rings" of bits that fit in the handle, even including an adapter that allows for a smaller bit driver size. This is even better internal storage than what the Stanley product has. But those other products don't have Stanley's convenient top storage. What I would love to see is a product that combines all of these -- ratcheting, top bit storage for the most common bits, and multiple rings of bits in internal storage.

Mechanism will no longer switch between ratcheting clockwise, locked and ratcheting counter-clockwise. Instead, it is now clockwise, clockwise and neutral. Also, as others have said, it is virtually impossible to remove the bits from the front storage section of the tool. Poor quality and design.

Couldn't figure out how to get bits out from the handle without additional tools and asked at the dealership how it worked.......the poor guy is still scratching his head how on earth such a product is on the market

I cannot for the life of me get the bits out of the handle. Awful design. A tool that needs to ship with a bit extraction tool shouldn't be on the market.

I had another one of these I thought I had lost, so bought a new one. Found the old one, now I have 2 of them. Handy to have the different bits available if you need them

The handle and ratchet system are nice. But everything with the bits is horrible. Had to use a second tool (Leatherman) to remove the bits from the top storage area. And when I put bits in the bottom storage, they got lodged in there and tore up the plastic, breaking the retainers and making it nearly impossible to reopen. Returned within 24 hours of delivery

The screwdriver fell apart after a few days. At least two other reviewers here have posted photos showing this. Also, it is really hard to get the bits out of the bit holder. I have an older version of this screwdriver that works fine (as it should, because it should not be hard to build a screwdriver that does not fall apart). Not about to buy any Stanley products again, if Stanley cannot build a basic thing like a screwdriver that does not fall apart.

Durable and well made

I haven't had it long. It works well so far. While it came with plenty of bits I am glad it accepts common 1/4" hex bits. This way i can customize and add bits to suit my needs.

the bits seem strong and easy to interchange plus my extra bits fit perfectly so i can easily use them

I wanted to get a ratcheting screw driver as I do lots of wrenching on pretty much anything with a motor or engine, if its broke I'll fix it. having a screwdriver with a precision bit is a must have nothing is more aggravating then stripping a screw head out because the bit is wore. That said I really like this driver plenty of places to store bits on the driver which is a huge plus. Awesome product so far

If you rarely need to change bits, this screwdriver is OK. The racketing function is nice. But keep a needle nose pliers handy to pry the heads out if you need to change.

I bought one of these twenty years ago after reading a positive review in the Carpenters Union magazine and it still works great. Was just thinking of buying another for my daughter since she's about to move out on her own.
