I was using this as a base on top of clay to keep an overlay of gravel from sinking into the clay. The clay gets saturated with rain/ground water and then my steer and 2 goats churn it into a pot hole filled sponge that never dries out. I used the loader on my compact tractor to scoop out the mud (about 18 inches) and then put this underlayment fabric on top of the now solid clay base. I then covered the fabric with about 20 inches of gravel. It tore in a few places when I was pushing dirt around with the tractor and got too close to the material, but overall its working very well. We have had sever torrential rain storms since I put in the gravel, and my animals have been able to stay high and dry on their new gravel surface. I can also drive on the new surface with my compact tractor without sinking in. I haven't been able to do that since I first bought this place more than 2 years ago.

Great Deal
I am using this as an underlayment for a Japanese style path I'm building. While I haven't been able to put a lot of it in, I can tell that it resists tearing for any reason. The small area where I laid out a sample has been growth free in the three weeks it's been down.
