I got one of these units to protect the electrical environment of an aquarium. Imagine my surprise when I turned on the fluorescent lamp above the aquarium and the GFCI tripped! I tried this a few times, with the same result each time. Apparently, something about turning on the light looks like a ground fault to the adapter. If I reset the adapter with the light already switched on, it didn't trip, but I can't be doing that every time I turn the aquarium light on. I ended up plugging the aquarium light directly into the wall, and using the GFCI adapter to protect the other things (filter, air pump, thermostat). So it's still useful -- it just can't be used to protect the aquarium light. Yes, I realize this could really be a complaint about the aquarium light instead of about the GFCI adapter....

I use these on my aquariums for safety and they work great . A lot easier than installing a GFCI outlet .

I'm so glad I got this! Originally wanted it to use with corded lawnmower, but now I use it on all indoor and outdoor power tools.I like it so much I got my brother-in-law one to add to his toolbox.

It will be perfect if the color is white.

Nope! Doesn’t stay plugged into wall outlet! If you plug an AC cable plug into the device! The device is now to heavy to stay in the wall outlet!

It performed perfectly. I used it on a Pressure washer and had no problems.

This is exactly the product I was looking for -- something that would transform a regular outlet into a GFCI outlet.

Only used twice and no problems. Power light works and test light works. It should work to prevent an electrical shock.

I have used this product befor. I think you should stock it in your stores.

According to an engineer friend it really works to ground an appliance and it saves a lot of money.

The device allows gfci protection without having to switch out the receptacle and costs about the same as a replacement gfci receptacle.This worked out well for me since I could not change out a gfci receptacle due to a wiring issue downstream from the outlet in question. the only issue I have is the color. (I wish it came in white as I am using it in my front room.)

Must have to avoid potential electrical shortage and or power spikes with tools

All the pressure washers I had stopped working after 2 to 3 years because the GFCI went bad. Now I cut it off, wire in a new plug and use this devise. Since this adapter is not made for outdoors, after the project is complete or raining … bring it indoors!!
