The caps looked beautiful. However, only 1 of the 7 bases had holes drilled in the tabs for securing them to the posts. The screws for securing the cap to the base were a hot mess (3 of the units had sawed-off screws already installed that wouldn't go back in and the others weren't much better when it came to trying to install them). These worked fine but could be improved a bit. I would have liked the mounting tabs to have predrilled holes in them so the base could be screwed to the post. The screws that hold the top to the base are cheap. They will strip easy of you aren't careful. One of them was even bent when I received it.

This is a winner! Made of molded, not stamped, aluminum and painted with a satin powder-coat finish, which is baked on so it will have lasting power. The majority of these fence caps are made of vinyl but the sun will make vinyl brittle over time. Most companies sell just a pyramid top without a base - this is 2 pieces that screw together. The base has 4 tabs so it rests on the top of a 4x4” fence post (nominal size 3.5x3.5”) or the tabs can be attached to the post using adhesive as recommended. I’m going to simply rest mine on top of the fence posts and see how they do - they’re heavy enough that I believe they will stay by gravity alone or I may drill holes in 2 of the tabs and use screws to secure it into the post. I believe that this is the only metal fence cap that consists of 2 pieces. Totally recommended!

All metal black pyramid post caps are very difficult to find. Many brands just offer the high point cap and not the post cap base in metal. In fact I think these are the only ones I found. I looked in multiple local stores and online. These are decent. They didn't come with any instructions on how to install them. We ended up looking up instructions on a website for a different brand post cap. The suggestion was to use exterior-grade construction adhesive. We ended up drilling holes in the 4 tabs on the post cap base that sit on the top of the post and screwing them into the post. The tiny set screws to attach the point cap to the cap base are difficult to get in but we finally go them attached. We have one cap that rattles slightly if you step on the stairs very very hard right next to it. All in all I am happy with these caps and would buy them again. The black finish is nice and seems to be holding up well.

Was please with the look but the small screws used to fasten the top and bottom assemblies failed to tighten properly.
