It was not bright enough.

I purchased one of these lights from homedepot.com in July 2014 and it stopped working when it was a little short of two years old. Since it has a 3 year manufacturer's warranty, I attempted to contact the manufacturer 3 time via their web site but my attempts were unsuccessful. I thought this was a good looking light and was pleased with the light output and was very disappointed when it failed and even more disappointed when it didn't even last through it's warranty period and I couldn't get through to the manufacturer to file a warranty claim. Based on it's 35,000 hour estimated life and assuming it was used 8 hours a day (which it wasn't) I should have gotten 12 years out of this light. Also, be advised you will likely have to purchase an electrical box cover with a threaded hole or holes to install this light since it just a light and not a light kit.

I needed to replace our back deck lighting from the halogen spot light variety to something a bit brighter and a wider field of illumination. This light met both. I have a back yard about 100 feet to the wood-line and 100 feet wide. With the previous halogen lights, I could see about half way to the woods and about 40 - 50 feet wide at that point. With this light mounted about 7 foot high on the back of our house, the entire back yard is illuminated plus about 20 - 30 feet into the woods and a bit on each side of the yard. I had to actually aim the light a bit up towards the soffit so it wasn't too bright when we were in the yard looking back towards our deck / house. We can now see all the 'creatures' at the top of the yard and not just once they come into view. This would be an excellent security light also. The only issue I have for this light would have been to include a mounting plate to secure to the circular junction box. This was only a couple bucks more but would have been a nice addition. The light is a bit pricey but worth it.
