warranty is a nightmare
The t track lock broke on my miter gauge and for 2 days ive been on the phone with Ridgid and Home depot trying to get it fixed. Talking to 3 divisions of Ridgid they all deny manufacturing it. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $30 and buy a Incra miter gauge.

Nope!!! Doesn't work!!! - Don't waste your money. :-( We are on the 21st century, where everything is digital; and of course all this fancy modern tools with sensors, digital displays and what-not, sound like such a good idea. However, this one is so poorly made that it makes you wish you would have never known it existed. - Mine was dead-on-arrival. Once you insert the batteries (observing the right polarity) and press the power button, the display shows 888.8˚, resulting from having all 7 segments of each digital character/symbol and the degree ( ˚ ) indicator being active. Pressing any of the two available buttons does nothing. It stays stuck on 888.8˚.Tried new batteries too. Also, once turned on, it cannot be turned off, except by removing the batteries. Several buyers have complained about Home-Depot shipping defective units. One user that self-identifies as Jerry commented on November 7, 2017 that he had to order three before he got one that worked. I am not that patient. Quality control seems to be an issue. - There was no user manual included and none to be found on the internet. I understand this is not a complex product, but a simple manual with a trouble-shooting section would have helped. Besides, for non-experienced users, some of the extra parts would be worth demonstrating. I still don't know what the aluminum part with two magnets is used for. It is supposed to be a magnetic blade attachment for precise blade-tilt-angles, but I have no idea how to use it. There is also not much information about this device on the internet. - The gap between the miter gauge's shaft and the miter slot is too big, which produces too much play and eliminates any accuracy you could get from being able to set the angle digitally at a 1/10 of a degree accuracy. - Bottom-line: Don't waste your money.

Ridgid Digital Miter Gauge, the odds are against you
I had to get three of these before I got one that worked. It did not function even with new batteries. The second unit came with dead batteries and did not function even with new batteries. The third unit which worked with new batteries, came with corroded batteries. During this process I attempted to contact Ridgid for tech support but was told they knew virtually nothing about this particular product. They referred me to the manufacturer Chervon Corp. When I called these folks, I was told that they knew nothing about this product and did not manufacture it for Ridgid. Bottom line, don't buy this product. No one to call for support. I guess it's a throw away society...

This did not fit my Ridgid r4513 portable saw. There was too much play in the miter slot which defeats the purpose of setting an accurate angle.

        Not Reccomended
I purchased this miter gauge with the greatest of hopes. I will say that if you do purchase it Home Depot has the best on line price. I read the good bad and ugly reviews voicing the same complaints I have but didn't listen. I bought this miter gauge for a specific project that require I build an octagon from some very expensive African hard wood. This required 16 22 1/2* cuts. After zeroing out the gauge against my blade I set it to 22 1/2* That in itself was a chore as the readout moves in .1* increments. Each time I tightened the lock the gauge moved off angle. After 15 minutes of finessing the lock I attained my 22 1/2 degree angle. I used waste one by stock as a trial, cut my 8 pieces and guess what? No where near a fit. I could have saved myself the money and just kept adjusting my original miter gauge thousandth by thousandth, wasted a ton of wood and ultimately arrived at the desired angle. I didn't purchase this 24 in. Universal Digital Miter Gauge to go through all that. Save yourself the aggravation and get an Incra positive stop miter gauge. That's what I just did and I'm a happy camper now. I gave this product 2 stars because close enough might be good enough for some woodworkers.

great but need tweaking for best accuracy
On the plus side this unit comes ready for 5/8, 3/4 and 7/8" table saw miter grooves. Assembly was quick and easy with the included instructions. Design wise its really for the do-it-yourself person or hobbyist because it doesn't give you the stability of a commercial design although you can fix this. Overall quality of construction is good. Shipped quickly to my shop in two business days. On the down side it has 15 thousands slop in the 3/4" dado groove on my Sears Professional Table saw. As you tighten down the hand clamp after setting the desired angle, the clamp forces the miter base to move several degrees so you have to inch up on the setting that you ultimately want. To fix this I took and drilled, threaded and inserted allen head set screws into the side of the dado bar at 4 places. The allen set screws were HDPM plastic so as to not mar the dado groove on my saw. I fixed the hand clamp the same way by putting 3 plastic washers below the vehicle hand clamp giving it a bearing surface that stops movement of the miter base. All works perfectly now an has giving me some excellent results on multi sided angles wood pieces to make wood pots out of.

        Could be better
Miter gauge was easy to set up and get working. However, I had to shim the bar to get it to fit my miter gauge slot. The lock could stand to have a taller handle attached to it to make it easier to push. And a clamp to hold your work piece could be provided. Also, it could use a fine adjustment to help dial in the angle. All in all it is a good miter gauge that could use some improvement.

        digital miter gauge
once you shim the base to fit the slot in your saw, it works excellent. Used it twice and it seems to hold calibration, and works well for repeated cuts. the digital set up is sensitive to lock down.

Check your measurements if you have a Craftsman saw
I have to return this product to Home Depot, Unfortunately, it needs a 3/8" deep gauge slot, and my Craftsman Saw has a 1/4" deep gauge slot. Personally I'm sorry I bought the Craftsman Saw because it uses a very non-standard Miter Gauge size, and none of the aftermarket replacements fit.

        Digital Miter Gauge
The miter gauge is well constructed and accurate measuring mitered angles. Calibration is very easy and does not have to be done repeatedly when used on the same saw. The adjustable stops are beneficial for cutting short pieces EXACTLY the same length. After calibration the Ridgid miter gauge is much more accurate than any other standard miter gauge I've used, and the cost of this gauge is competitive with other less accurate quality miter gauge.

        Good buy on Miter Gauge
As expected I had to tweak the fit to my miter slot a little. The split beam made this dead easy to do. It is easy to calibrate and is accurate and repeatable.

        Very Nice Miter Gauge
The bar fit in my table saw slots was very sloppy. I figured it might be when I purchased it. Slots varies with different manufactures. I just used a feeler gauge to determine how much shim I needed to add between the 2 piece bar. In my case it was .030. I stoned the table slots to remove all high spots and burrs. Now I have a Miter Gauge that fits like a glove. It would be nice if shims came with it.

        Good Product
Bought this for my RIDGID table saw. Was interested in it for some time and had a gift certificate to use. Also it comes with a 3 year warranty - so it seemed worth a shot. Assembly was straight forward. Works well for me.

        Awesome!
After reading a lot of the reviews, I was a bit hesitant to order this. However, it did have all the features I wanted, so I went ahead and purchased it. The one complaint a lot of folks had was it fit the miter track a bit sloppy. It did when I got mine. What I did was to insert a couple of small star washers and it fits absolutely perfect!

If it don't fit, you must acquit....er....return...:)
In short, the gauge bar doesn't fit a standard 3/8" x 3/4" T-slot miter bar slot. I don't know what Rigid is thinking because I have what is probably THE most common of the sizes for a table saw and if their product doesn't fit then it isn't much good. Could have been a really nice miter gauge too, if they would have made it fit without any slop.

spend a little more & get a quality product
This gauge did not fit in the saw table slot as tight as it should for a precise cut. so much for "universal" tools.

          Good but could be better
Like several others here I have this paired with the ridgid Contractor table saw. I think this was a really good deal, my local store had them on sale for less than half of what a nice Incra would cost. That being said I did see similar issues that others did in that the rail doesn't fit real snug and I had to shim it out with some paper. Once that was done it worked great. I would like to see a real shim kit included with this instead of the paper trick since if you want to use this to set the angle of your blade you need to remove the rail and the shims. If there were shims made for this then it would probably be easier to keep track of them with switching between using this as a miter gauge and a blade tilt gauge.

Returning to store... In this price range/category, buy a Kreg Miter Gauge!
I purchased this miter gauge from my Home Depot this morning and will be returning it this afternoon. The item is built well and has a great aluminum fence but has one major flaw, the miter bar is sloppy. I have a Ridgid Cast Iron topped contractor's saw and the play of the miter bar equated to an eighth of an inch of slop over a 24" piece of stock. Unfortunately, there are no built in shims to remove this slop in the bar. For a product that boasts .1% accuracy I would expect it to to have adjustments on the bar to remove all play in the miter slot. I have a Craftsman digital miter gauge that has the required shims on its miter bar and is extremely precise; I would not recommend this product either, as the plastic battery door has failed and broken off, and the lock down nuts that hold the fence on the gauge have begun to crack. I am very fussy with my tools and am very sad to see how poor of quality material the Craftsman was made of. At any rate, I am going to stay away from the digital gauges and my next step will be to buy a Kreg precision miter gauge. It is only about $50.00 more (so still reasonably priced) and comes with the features and adjustments that the Ridgid miter gauge should have come with to truly make it a precision cutting instrument.

Go check it out at the store!
Everyone is right about the miter slot not fitting right, a little shim worked for me, actually ended up fitting two layers of electrical tape and that was perfect. The fence and stop work great, easy to set up and seem to be well constructed for the price. The main reason I wrote this review was because I went to the store and I was browsing around and seen this marked down to $31.00. I quickly read the reviews online and said for that price I could hardly pass it up. Would I buy it at $89? Probably not, but at $31, it's a no brainer!

            Don't waste your money!
This miter guage looks great and it would be if it had been designed with a single piece miter bar. As it is, it is very sloppy (one size fits NONE) and even with shims the bar would not get "tight" and be allowed to slide. There are three bolts that join the two slider bars together to make it fit all width slots and because of this there are 3 compression points along the bar that end up being thinner (i.e. the bar becomes non-uniform thickness). Now we are talking a few thousands of an inch but enough to make me return the $90 item. For $90 I wouldn't think you'd have to modify it much for a true 3/4" slot (Ridgid saw no less). The magnetic blade angle attachment is likewise a nightmare! A real disappointment! Kreg here we come!

I think this is a great addition to my table saw
My miter gauge arrived on time. The assembly was not complicated and went smoothly. I did have to modify my table saw since it did not have a true "T" groove. The first fitting of the gauge was a little loose, but I used some notebook paper as shim material between the two sections of the guide bar. After a couple of tries the guide bar slid smoothly through the channel with no side play at all. My cross-cutting will be a lot more precise now with a larger platform to align with and an accurate digital reading of the angle. I am very happy with this product.

Love the digital gauge, hate the miter slot runner
I wholeheartedly back up the review that complains about the extra play in the miter slot. I bought this RIDGID miter gauge to fit my RIDGID R4512 table saw. The runner is about 1/32" narrower than the slot, which gives a bit of play on the angle. The bar itself has no good way to adjust for this (it seems it would have been pretty easy to put in an adjustable screw for this), so I'm going to have to shim it with paper or something. The digital gauge itself seems very accurate, but it tells you the angle between the miter fence and the slot runner, so if the slot runner moves in the track...there goes the accuracy. I'd still recommend it based on the price (it says available online only, but I found it in-store for $66).

Great tool except one big flaw.........
Out of the box, this miter gauge looks great! It feels solid and looks like it will perform with the best. One problem...... The miter slot bar is way undersized and lets the miter gauge wiggle over two whole degrees when set in the miter slot. I have a Delta table saw and I can't imagine that being less than a standard and common brand the miter gauge would have not been designed for. I am thinking I can shim the bar so it is a little wider with a little custom work. Ridgid should have designed some type of adjustment or at least made it to fit one of the most common table saws on earth. I would consider five stars if Ridgid could have caught something so obvious. I bought this expecting perfect angles set everytime I use it. Two degrees off is far from perfect!
