Evaluating my Hampton Bay 22 in. lamp is difficult because I absolutely loved it until the day it spontaneously fell apart. I can't find my Home Depot receipt and I fear it is out of warranty but this is so bizarre, I want you to know. As I picked it up to move it, the upper arm extension just split in two. Can't tell if there was a joint there that had been glued or faulty material just made a clean break. Anyhow, I'm enclosing a photo-it looks like a folding lamp now. I have macular degeneration and found it to be an excellent light source but am a little reluctant to invest in another one at this point. Need to do a little more research I guess.

Bought 3 about 3 years ago without a problem. I'll be buying 2 more today via the internet. Bright light and will last much longer than a regular incandescent bulb. I've read other reviews that a few customers had issues. If that would happen to me, I shall return it to HD. I've tried other adjustable lamps but they would eventually give way to gravity. Good luck to all.

I needed a new lamp to use while sewing. This one is the perfect height -- it curves over the top of my sewing machine, putting light just where I need it. The base is heavy and sturdy; no worries about the lamp tipping over. The assembly was easy, and making adjustments is also quite easy.

Perfect desk lamp, used it for grad school. Very adjustable, plenty of light that was bright but not harsh for reading and laptop use. Simple, elegant looking in my bedroom and easy to wipe dust off/clean.

Dont waste your money
This is a great looking lamp, but if you use it with a light fully extended, it can not hold the lamp head up. No matter how well I tighten it down, it slips down.
If I still had the receipt, I'd take it back.

Badly Made, Falls Apart
This is a good looking lamp that is amazingly badly made. The lamp adjusts with two wing-nut type screws which have neither the holding power to keep the lamp in a steady position nor the quality to hold together after repeated readjustments. The threads on one of them finally stripped out and I will just put in in recycle and find something old and American made that I can rewire and get more use out of.

Good value and design!
Good value, good light, good design, and sturdy. It takes up more room than I thought it would. We were a bit disappointed in the quality control as one of the bases has slight dents, and the other has a small chip in the finish.

Great looking lamp doesn't hold up.
I bought one of these at my local store over a year ago. I loved the looks, and function on my desk. No complaints until a few weeks ago when the switch gave out. I've replaced this type of socket in other lamps, and thought it would be no big deal to fix this one. NOT! This was designed in such a way as to be unaccessible. I contacted customer service to see if there was any recourse, as the lamp has a one year warranty, which had expired. To my pleasant surprise, I was mailed a gift card to apply towards a new lamp. It wasn't as much as I had paid, but I'll consider the balance as a lesson learned.

This product great for office
This product is great for dark offices where you need to balance the lighting. Height adjustable and you are able to rotate the light sheld to project the light in the direction you want.
