This comes fully assembled and ready to go. However, you cannot use LED candles as there are spikes for real candles. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it is made for the price. If you have a fireplace you don't use very much, this is a great way to get more use out of it with the glow of real flames.

This is a great looking mantle piece. The only disadvantage is that real candles must be used because of a small metal insert on the base. However by removing the battery cover of flameless candles, they can be used.
