This product does not produce the same amount of light as a similar Lithonia product that this product replaced although both products use the same lighting tubes

Good Products
Actuality ended up returning this item. It was purchased to relpace a Lithonia fixture that was damaged when I took it down to paint the ceiling. After in order a replacement fixture my wife contacted Lithonia and they sent us new parts for the damaged fixture at no charge. Great company

Litho is is a horrible company to deal with...thankfully HD can deal with their garbage
Only lasts 2-3 years then you have to throw out. Lithuania warranty and customer service is terrible. Used to deal with the for years through Grainger. All they do is assemble cheapest ballasts into a $3 pot metal and plastic bulb and call it an American made product. Bought 27 flush mount lights over past 5 years 90% of the ballasts have failed...the bulbs last longer

Good product for kitchen light
This was a replacement for a light bought a few years ago. My only problem is the doubling of the cost in just a few years. Went from $40.00 to $80.00.

Not designed for ballast replacement
You'll need two people or a free-standing ladder that's within no more than a foot and a half from your ceiling (although you can build the height with a box or other shim on a smaller ladder)
(You have to support the fixture while you wire up the ballast to your ceiling source and secure the fixture to the ceiling.)
This is the second one I've had in my kitchen.
The ballast went both times,
but, hey,
it lasts about 4-5 years.
My kitchen has a bit of an alcove with no exhaust,
so with the cooking and fridge/microwave heat,
I can't expect much more from a $79 fixture with Lamps included.
I really wish that they'd sell the ballast separately, but it'd probably cost as much as the fixture.
When I move to better digs, I'll spend a few dollars and get contractor quality lighting.
I also note that I paid considerably less last time (how much? don't remember)

Short Life for a Flourescent Light
I'm on my third light fixture in 4years. The ballast does not seem to last more than 2years. The Flourescent tubes last longer than the ballast.

Very happy with this light fixture.
Easy to install and easy to affix the diffuser. The latches are a great feature for cleaning and changing bulbs.

Not easy to install due to needing two people
Had one similar before and bought this one due t low profile. Issue is the clasps to hold the large "plastic lens" are visible after installation. Also using the two bulbs they are too bright. Disconnected one and you can see the cord through the lens. Small issues but are issues

Worked for what I needed
I replaced a 35 year old fixture that was almost identical because the plastic dome which fell off and shattered was unobtainable. I did have to drill different mounting holes in the new light. The hardest part was having my son hold the light while I connected the wires in a very limited amount of space (between the light and the ceiling). There is NO way this is a one person job.

replacement
the fixture is fine, except I would have liked not having to replace the whole fixture when only the cover was what I needed
third fixture i've had to replace in the last few months only because the cover was cracked, discolored or broken and the same/similar fixtures had been changed so I couldn't just replace the cover. a perfectly good, functioning fixture had to go to the landfill. Not very green.

Fixture mounting hole spacing was not standard
The centerline to centerline of the electrical mounting fixture was 2 1/4" or 2 3/8", yet the hole mounting centerlines in the fixture plate was 3 1/2". The manufacture had to make the hole centerlines 3 1/2", because the transformer/starter was that wide. Did I get the fixture mounted to the ceiling--YES
Home Depot needs to check out this manufacture for other mounting errors

housing will not stay
tried to clean bugs out and housing fell off 4 times in 30 minutes when attached right as the 3 plastic holders loosened over a little time and housing broke the 4th time when it fell. Also, you can only order this online if there is a problem but you can get the 2 bulbs in store.

This light works perfectly in our kitchen. We were quite surprised at how much light it puts out. It was also quite easy to install.
