I would like to say maybe I just got a faulty set but I bought 4 sets. I have made sure they have all the sun in the world shining straight on them but the won’t work. I can turn on/off and get it to flicker but that all the light I get. Too bad because I really like the design. Taking them back tomorrow. We will see what they say. But I guess it could be my fault As I hear with solar lights you get what you pay for

Nice-looking lights, but only 3 work
These step lights look nice and are made with a stainless steel shell over plastic housing. They are about 3.75" round and .75" tall. They turn on at dusk and last a few hours before getting dim.
What I liked:
- Each light has 2 LED bulbs that should last about 20 years. They are a pleasing warm white color.
- Rechargeable 250 mAh AA Ni-Cd battery is included in each and they can be replaced with higher capacity Ni-Mh or Ni-Cd batteries.
- On/Off switch has rubbery protective coating.
- Mounting hardware is included, along with instructions
What I did not like:
- One light was defective. On checking inside, I found that the light will work only when the wires are moved. Not being an expert in wiring repair, I will just use the other 3 lights.
- The plastic hangers are flimsy.
- They are designed to hang down, but if the sun does not hit it fully, the lights have to be removed and placed in direct sunlight in order to charge them.
- The description states 6 lumens, but the box states that the peak light output is 1.4 lumens.
-Although the bulbs may last 20 years, and the batteries are replaceable, I am not confident that the lights would last very long.
I wanted these to light up my deck at night so I’m just going to place them out on the deck where hopefully I won’t kick them off. They are pretty low and flat so hopefully won’t get blown off. They come with brackets to install on a wall but I don’t have a good spot to place them. Also they say to get the batteries fully charged you should place them in full sun and if I place them on the front of the house they will probably get shaded by the overhang and the trees. I’ll see how they do.
These are rather small step lights, but the light emitted from them is very bright (see my pictures) and will definitely illuminate your way in the dark. They were easy to install and come with the necessary brackets, screws and plastic anchors, although the plastic mounting brackets are a bit flimsy. The rechargeable batteries are recharged by sun light, and although it's not clear how long those batteries will last, I believe they can be replaced if need be. The lights only turn on when it's dusk and apparently last for about 8 hours (I haven't tested this) and then turn off again when it's daylight. These are cute solar lights, which can be installed on stairs or steps, but also decks, platforms etc.
I've been searching for a solution to a tripping hazard on my front steps for a long time. The previous owner put down black grip strips, which helps a little, but at night, I and my guests are regularly stumbling down the steps, due to how the brown color of the steps blends together in the darkness, even when nearby lights are on.
With that intro out of the way, I can report that I've finally found my solution! I had previously used motion-sensing LEDs powered by batteries, but they were ugly and only somewhat functional, as you want people to see the steps before they come near them. These "always-on" lights are great, and the fact that they charge during the day makes the whole concept work perfectly.
Just a couple of observations about how the design could be improved:
(1) These lights are designed to be hung on a small plastic mount (included), such that they point down. The problem I've found is that the LEDs are highly directional, so most of the light simply shines directly below the light, rather than out and across the steps. The LEDs should really be mounted inside the casing at a slight angle, so that light is case in multiple directions (perhaps forming an arc).
(2) The casing is just a bit bulky. I'm sure this is a limit of the technology today, but it would be great if they were shorter, and also had a smaller diameter. I could not fit them on certain porch steps that has very little rise, and on the steps where they did fit, there's a possibility of stepping down onto the lights if you're not looking where you're going.
Just one other note: there's a rubber-coated on/off switch on the backside of these lights, which is great for storage, or during periods where your area does not need to be lit up at night. Given that the included batteries are only rated for 500 charge/discharge cycles, you may want to turn them off except when you have guests.
I purchased this solar light because it was affordable and it came 4 lights in the package. The purpose was simply to illuminate the side of my fence that face the street because it was too dark.
Even tough this light is supposed to illuminate the stairs or put them in your balcony; I hang them on my fence, so the light is pointing down at the side walk. All my neighbors have admired my work, and the best part I got to know so many wonderful people at my neighborhood just because we started a conversation about this awesome lights. Moreover, these lights really illuminate the area, so far they have work every day through this summer.

Excellent product! Great for mounting on fence posts!
These lights really are awesome. I had planned on buying something different when I went in to get some outdoor led solar fence light. I saw that there were four in a box for $19.99 vs 2 in a box for $14.99 of the fence post lights they sold. I took a chance to save money since I needed 6 boxes for all my fence posts and I am super glad I did! They installed super easy with two tiny Phillips provided screws. They light up bright for how small they are too! I was looking for something to light up the privacy fence just for show but these are actually functional enough that you can see the ground as you walk around the fence line. Once they have sat all day in the blistering sun they light up bright for about four hours and slowly dim as the night goes on. By seven hours they are dimmer than when they started out, but still on! VERY IMPRESSED and pleased with these lights!

Great solar lights for mounting on wood steps, or on a fence
These are truly good-looking, sleek, functional, and easy-to-install lights. Even though they're labeled as "step lights", I got them to install just beneath the top rail of my new cedar fence. I installed one light every 20 feet and they cast a lovely downward glow along the fenceline. The stainless steel finish is really attractive. They were super easy to install as well - there's a little tab switch to turn on when you first unpack them, and they use two screws to attach to decking (or fencing, in my case). If you have a supply of good outdoor screws on hand, I'd recommend using your own screws rather than the ones that came with the lights. I like that these lights have replaceable rechargeble batteries (charged by the little solar panel), because I plan to store these each winter and hopefully get many summers of use out of them!

I've used these previously. You'll get about 1.5 years out of them before they conk out and you need to either get new batteries or replace. I didn't take them inside during the winter and that was a mistake. I think if you keep them clean and take them inside during winter months, they'll last longer. Nice accent lighting for my pool area. Easy install.

Worked fine for a year, but mid-way through the second year they started rusting up pretty bad. Doubtful of the stainless steel claim.
