Beautiful but expensive and had installation problems
Now that it is installed, I am very happy with it. It looks beautiful and works well. Very solid and heavy with no plastic parts. I wanted an umbrella-style drain for my new vanity. This drain was more than twice as expensive as umbrella drains in the store, but none of the ones in the store had overflow. Can't install a drain without an overflow in a sink that has one, so this was my obvious choice. On the other hand, drains are not that expensive to begin with, so it wasn't a deal-breaker, but I can't say that it was a good value. When I tried to install it, I found that it was just a bit too wide to fit into the hole in the sink. A pop-up style drain that came with the faucet fit just fine, so I think that the problem was with this drain. I put a grinder attachment on my drill and widened the hole just a hair to get it to fit. Annoying but not a big deal. However, I would be wary of buying this drain if I had a glass or ceramic bowl. This drain also had a detachable tailpiece. Maybe this was to allow it to be cut to fit more easily, but it was hard to get it not to leak. The fit was so close that it was difficult to get teflon tape to stay on the threads as I screwed it in, but it leaked without the tape. I eventually used a liquid dope and the leak went away.

The only drain designed to work with Decolav Bowl
Purchase was easy on line, delivery was prompt. I expect installation to be straightforward.

Looks pretty but has design flaws.
I bought 3 of these drains for 3 Decolav vessel sinks which all specified this model of drain. Two of them collect water around the base that can only be eliminated by wiping it out. I have called my plumber twice to see if there way to alleviate this problem, but there is not. I bought a much less expensive drain for a non-Decolav and it functions much better. Very disappointing.
